Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1394: Chapter 1394: Finally Meeting

The carriage headed towards Zhong Family Village, and its location was quite favorable, not very far from the prefecture.

It took just about half an hour after leaving the city, without any winding roads.

Even their carriage could directly enter the village, and the road wasn’t bumpy.

Obviously, this village seemed quite affluent; otherwise, they wouldn’t have maintained the roads so smooth and wide.

Meng Yunzheng inquired about the location of the Zhong Family Village chief, and quickly found a large blue brick house in the center of the village following the directions.

However, at this time, the entrance of the village chief’s house was already crowded, layer upon layer of people, villagers were noisily chattering, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.

With Meng Yunzheng’s support, Shu Yu disembarked from the carriage, peeking ahead curiously.

“How is it? Can you walk?” Meng Yunzheng asked in a low voice, with an expression as if to say ‘if you can’t walk, I’ll carry you over’.

Shu Yu cleared her throat lightly, “I can walk.”

Having rested the entire day and applying the medicine Zhao Xi gave, she felt much better, with no major issues in walking by herself.

Meng Yunzheng left Xia Yan and Ying Xi by the carriage, and led Shu Yu forward.

However, there were too many people, crowding the front, not allowing anyone from the back to enter.

Meng Yunzheng slightly furrowed his brow, looking up at the tall enclosing wall.

Shu Yu suddenly grabbed his hand, “No, if we climb the wall, we’ll definitely be taken as thieves. With so many villagers here, they’ll all come after us at that time. And we don’t even know if Master accomplished what he came for; let’s observe the situation first.”

Meng Yunzheng had to abandon the idea of climbing the wall and glanced back at Xia Yan by the carriage.

The latter immediately ran forward, “Sir.”

Meng Yunzheng, “Make way ahead.”

It was fine before, but now Shu Yu is injured; these people are all tall and strong, and even the women are fierce. It wouldn’t be good if she got hurt again.

Xia Yan responded and charged forward.

His skills were good, quick and strong, and he soon forcefully cleared a path in front.

Meng Yunzheng protected Shu Yu and stood directly at the front, ignoring the curses from the other villagers, shamelessly standing by the courtyard door.

The courtyard was lively as well, but not crowded, mostly family members of the house, it seemed.

Shu Yu scanned around and then saw a familiar figure sitting on a chair under the porch, eyes closed in meditation.

“It’s the Dongqing Temple master,” Meng Yunzheng whispered.

“Finally, there they are, at least they haven’t left yet.” Shu Yu exhaled a long breath.

The Dongqing Temple master hadn’t changed much compared to two years ago, easily recognizable at a glance.

“What is Master doing there?”

Meng Yunzheng looked at the scene in the courtyard, somewhat uncertain, “Seems like they are waiting for something.”

What are they waiting for?

All the others in the courtyard tried to remain calm, either sitting or standing, occasionally glancing towards the entrance and then at the closed-eyed Dongqing Temple master, wanting to inquire but hesitant to disturb, only rubbing hands or furrowing brows.

Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu tried to glean some information from the villagers’ conversation, but they were similarly puzzled.

Shu Yu hesitated on whether to go in.

It was then that the Dongqing Temple master opened her eyes, and without hesitation, she looked directly at Shu Yu with a very direct and swift gaze, as if she knew exactly where she was.

Shu Yu’s expression brightened, and she raised her hand to wave, “Mas…”
