Chapter 1374: Chapter 1374: Daoist Nun Qiu Agreed Easily

The two were speaking in low voices, when a soft conversation was heard at the door.

Shu Yu sat up straight, “It should be Senior Sister Qiu coming.”

The Xiao Family immediately got nervous, “Shu Yu, if Senior Sister Qiu doesn’t agree, then forget it, there’s no need to…”

Before the words were finished, the people outside had already come in.

The Xiao Family looked up and saw a somewhat older Daoist nun with a serious expression walking in.

Compared to Daoist Nun Zheng from just now, this Daoist nun seemed stricter and more difficult to approach.

But in the next moment, Daoist Nun Qiu’s slightly helpless voice was heard, “I’ve already understood the circumstances. Since she is the young lady’s friend, let her stay.”

“Senior Sister Qiu, you are so kind.” Shu Yu stood up happily and ran to her side, her eyes full of joyful excitement.

The Xiao Family was dumbfounded. This Daoist nun, who seemed hard to talk to, agreed so easily?

Daoist Nun Qiu sighed, “Alright, I have other matters to attend to. Arrange your things and later follow Junior Sister Zheng to the innermost room in the backyard. However, in this backyard, it’s not suitable for men to stay. I heard this young lady has two guards?”

“Yes.” The Xiao Family quickly stood up and nodded.

The two guards were left by her husband to protect her, both skilled in martial arts.

In fact, besides those two guards, she also had two maids, one taking care of her daily needs, the other also skilled in martial arts.

Her husband said there were two others left secretly, though she didn’t know where they were.

Xiang Weinan’s arrangements were thorough. Truth be told, since marrying him, this was the first time the Xiao Family had received such attentive care.

Daoist Nun Qiu said, “There’s another house on the back mountain, not far from the backyard where you’ll be staying. If you think it’s okay, the two My Lords can stay in the backyard house.”

“That’s fine.” The Xiao Family nodded immediately.

After Daoist Nun Qiu gave instructions, she went back to the front hall.

Shu Yu and the Xiao Family followed Daoist Nun Zheng to the lodging, where the rooms in the backyard were always tidied up. The environment was quite nice, very serene, with not many people around.

The Xiao Family liked it very much, as they came mainly to recuperate, staying at the Daoist temple was quite appropriate.

The furnishings in the room were very simple, just a bed, wardrobe, and table, vastly different from the rooms the Xiao Family lived in before.

But the Xiao Family found it quite nice, as they didn’t have much luggage, and once arranged, it felt homely enough.

Shu Yu took a lap outside and said with a smile, “This place is good, at the front there’s even a vegetable garden, and beside it many flower beds. You can plant some vegetables and flowers to pass the time if you’re free. If you’re really bored, you can take a stroll to the back mountain. Occasionally there will be pilgrims there; if you wear a curtain hat, it won’t seem odd.”

The Xiao Family’s eyes brightened slightly. Ever since leaving the capital, they had prepared for not being able to step outside a small courtyard to avoid discovery.

Now, recuperating in such a serene and beautiful place, and occasionally being able to go out for a walk, was already very fortunate.

“Shu Yu, thank you.” The Xiao Family knew that Shu Yu had been very considerate in arranging for them to stay here.

They felt deeply grateful and even more remorseful for having misunderstood her about introducing someone as a suitor.

Shu Yu waved her hand, “No need to be too polite. You rest first, I’ll go into the city to find Old Doctor Zhao.”
