She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

The school groups and forums were extremely lively. Although many groups had been closed down and numerous forum posts were blocked, it couldn’t stop people from wanting to discuss.

It’s all because three out of four people from dormitory 4508 fell to their deaths.

The killer still hadn’t been caught, and the school was in a state of panic, yet many were curious about the matter, with students discussing the killer demon.

Some were very scared and planned to take leave from school.

But before they could act, the school had already decided to give a break.

With so many students dying consecutively, if they didn’t investigate what was going on, the school couldn’t handle the pressure.

Even with the break, not all students chose to return home. After all, students came from all over the country, and it was costly to go back and forth.

Due to this murder case, the teachers continuously held meetings, urging the students staying at school to always stick together and never walk alone. It was best for people from the same dormitory to stick together, as nobody knew who the killer was, and going in twos or threes might cause issues.

Rumors about Su Chen’s parents being the killers were rampant, with some suggesting they were dangerous and should be monitored.

”Their greedy demeanor is probably a facade to mix in and avenge Su Chen.”

”Propose they be monitored; it’s too scary. Su Chen committed suicide by jumping off a building; it’s not like someone killed her. You can’t retaliate over such a thing, right?”

”If they were the killers, why would they kill Jiang Yizhou’s roommates?”

”Is it because Su Chen spent more time with them, and Su Chen’s parents thought they were partly responsible for Su Chen going down that path?”

”Speaking of, because Su Chen was highly capable in her major, she started working on cases with professors early on. She wasn’t really close to her roommates and was rarely seen with them. Because of this, her parents didn’t intend to trouble her roommates.”

”Still, it doesn’t make sense somewhere.”

”How could one commit murder over such a small matter? To be honest, I have a dark thought: if that’s the case, then Su Chen’s parents wanting to kill everyone in dorm 4508 is quite normal.”

”I’ve thought of it too; such things aren’t rare in the world.”

”If it really is as speculated, some people honestly deserve to die.”

”There’s no evidence yet, so we can’t falsely accuse Su Chen’s parents of murder, and didn’t the police investigate earlier cases and find that they didn’t have the opportunity to commit the crime?”

”And lay off the victim-blaming; aren’t there enough cases where madmen kill randomly?”

Rumors couldn’t be stopped, and not just students; this matter was being discussed online recently. Hot searches were repeatedly suppressed, putting great pressure on both the police and the school.

”This is ridiculous! How could I do something like murder?” In the dorm supervisor’s office, Tan Ying cursed while holding her phone, ”I thought people in the village gossiped, but these students gossip just as much, insisting I’m a killer. Seriously, have they had enough of their good life?”

”I think it’s this school’s bad feng shui, which is why people keep dying one after the other.” Tan Ying murmured on the phone while cracking sunflower seeds, and students passing by outside couldn’t help but shake their heads.

Su Chen’s mom really didn’t seem like a killer, but still, they didn’t dare to be alone with her. Just in case, who could predict?

Dramatic reversals like this happen all the time on TV; no one dares to bet on it.

As closing time approached, Sun Ling arrived late and had another round of wits and courage with Tan Ying before finally entering the dorm.

There were also other students who returned late. Seeing that Tan Ying only targeted Sun Ling, they weren’t bothered and just let them in, feeling a sense of relief.

”Coming back so late every day, aren’t you afraid of running into a killer demon?” Tan Ying commented sarcastically, causing the other girls to shake their heads knowing well of the ill-feelings between Tan Ying and Sun Ling.

Every time they were late and Sun Ling was present, Tan Ying wouldn’t bother them, treating them as if they were invisible.

Sun Ling snorted, ”I haven’t done anything guilty, why should I fear a killer demon? Aunt, instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself. People like you probably attract killer demons more.”

”Dressing up so flamboyantly every day, did your parents pay for your college education just for that?” Tan Ying retorted angrily.

”I’m about to study abroad soon; the procedures are almost done, and my future is bright, so no need for Aunt to worry.” Sun Ling lifted her chin, about to say something, when she saw Tu Weiwei coming downstairs and asked, ”Are you going out?”

”No, I heard your voice and came down to get you, isn’t there a killer demon lately?” Tu Weiwei whispered, glancing cautiously at Tan Ying, who couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

”I’m not afraid.”

”If you’re timid, don’t wander around at night.” Sun Ling said irritably, grabbing her bag and following Tu Weiwei upstairs.

”Sun Ling, only Xu Zhao is left from 4508, do you think he’ll be alright?” Tu Weiwei asked softly, her face still a bit pale.

Maybe because Sun Ling and Xu Zhao were dating, she couldn’t help but ask.

Sun Ling replied, ”He has a bodyguard with him; what could happen? We’re about to study abroad soon, don’t worry, there’ll be no issues.”

Initially, the police intended to assign someone to protect Xu Zhao, but since Xu Zhao himself had hired a bodyguard, he declined.

Even so, there were still police watching around Xu Zhao’s place 24/7 to prevent the killer from succeeding again.

”That’s good. The recent events have been terrifying,” Tu Weiwei said.

Tan Ying heard the voices echoing in the stairwell but didn’t pay much attention, holding her phone and watching short clips, looking amused as if the outside events couldn’t affect her mood in the slightest.

Early the next morning, the police came to the school and took Tan Ying and Su Youcheng away. Many students saw this, and it quickly spread across every group.

”Could it really be Tan Ying who killed?”

”Whoa, if it’s true, I wouldn’t even know what to say.”

”Is there really some hidden truth here?”

”Was my guess right? Was it that the people in dorm 4508 did something bad to Su Chen first?”

”Let’s stop with the reckless speculation.”

”In any case, murder is wrong, and Su Chen committed suicide. Even if it’s about revenge, shouldn’t they look for those who leaked the photos and videos?”

”So is it possible that those who leaked the videos and photos were from dorm 4508?”

”Respect for the dead; without evidence, can’t we avoid victim-blaming?”

”Let’s wait. The police will surely give an explanation.”

Zhao Kehan stared at the middle-aged woman in front of him. Her belligerent expression suggested she was difficult to deal with, seemingly adept at arguing.

”Our investigation found that your family atmosphere is actually quite good, with no reported cases of favoritism between sons and daughters, and Su Chen was raised well by you.” As Zhao Kehan spoke, he kept an eye on Tan Ying’s expression, not wanting to miss anything. However, to his disappointment, Tan Ying maintained her unreasonable demeanor, showing no signs of panic.
