Gun of Ashes

No, he no longer has a chance.

This feeling is peculiar, very comfortable, all pain is left behind, and at this moment only absolute power is being wielded.

Lorenzo performed an action in mid-air that ordinary people find difficult to achieve, using the momentum of his sword swing to twist his body while landing another whip-like kick on the head of the Medanzo Demon Hunter.

The incomplete face armor cracked again, and Lorenzo relentlessly attacked one point until it was completely destroyed.

”Retreat!”

A Demon Hunter sensed something was wrong and shouted to the Medanzo Demon Hunter, while other Demon Hunters approached the area. Swinging their blades, the Medanzo Demon Hunter obeyed his teammates’ instructions, attempting to step back, but the severe pain in his leg slowed his movements.

It was the Nail Sword thrust beneath the armor, now impaled like a long nail in the joints underneath the armor, trapped tightly by its protection.

Is this what Lorenzo intended? While the armor protected the Demon Hunter, it also restricted him, so Lorenzo shed his own armor because he needed greater speed and fiercer attacks to end this.

If so...

The Secret Blood of the Medanzo Demon Hunter surged wildly, and black serpents wrapped around him like vines. He gave up retreating, instead reinforcing his armor, intending to last until the other Demon Hunters arrived, making it difficult for Lorenzo to pursue him further.

But then the sound of air being ripped apart rang out, followed by the seemingly indestructible armor shattering, with sharp and heavy metal piercing through the hardness, viciously striking the head.

”You’re too reliant on armor. It’s merely a tool for battle, not a life-saving device.”

This was the last sentence the Medanzo Demon Hunter heard before a violent explosion blew his head apart.

Everyone was stunned in place, looking at the headless corpse, unable to understand how Lorenzo managed to break through the solid armor to kill the Medanzo Demon Hunter, until they saw it.

Unnoticed, Lorenzo had abandoned another Nail Sword, now stuck in the ground, while his hand held a scorched Nail Hammer. As Lorenzo released the mechanism on the handle, the head of the Nail Hammer dropped, then he fitted the single handle into its case, aligning the groove so a new hammerhead was installed.

To battle the new Order’s Demon Hunters, he prepared gifts for each faction’s Demon Hunter, and this was the gift for the Medanzo faction.

This was a weapon called the Armor-Piercing Hammer, a product of the Perpetual Motion Pump. Initially measuring several meters long, shaped like a cylinder, it was originally allocated for the Armor of Original Sin, intended for breaching strongholds.

Inside the cylinder, there was a one-ton metal spike. When used, it was like pulling a trigger, propelling the spike like a bullet with fuel, able to easily penetrate several meters thick of steel plates. But later, this weapon was dismissed by Merlin for being impractical and wasting materials.

However, Lorenzo did not give up on it. In his view, this breaching weapon was perfectly suited for combating Medanzo Demon Hunters. After Lorenzo redesigned it, it became a disposable weapon fueled by high-burning Lacquered Antimony, with flint inside to ignite it through impact, thereby driving the Nail Hammer for secondary armor penetration.

This is a brand-new era, where once invincible Demon Hunters can easily be killed by modern weaponry, and the so-called Demons should also disappear accordingly.

”By any means, never stopping...”

A strange thing occurred in his mind, the image of Lorenzo de’ Medici arose, the old yet stubborn man, an existence long dead.

How odd, clearly he is dead, yet Lorenzo always feels he is still alive, like a child facing a fairy tale, refusing to believe it even now, refusing to believe he is truly dead...

Lorenzo raised the Nail Sword, stabbing along the neck’s gruesome severance, ruthlessly stirring it until the heart was completely destroyed, until the blood of the corpse cooled thoroughly, and bright red liquid flowed out from the gaps in the armor.

He was like a merciless Death God, turning to face those Demon Hunters enclosing him. Lorenzo knew Demon Hunters so well; he understood both their strength and their weaknesses.

With hammer and sword in hand, the figure moved again next moment, and the Shangdafeng Demon Hunters stared at Lorenzo, witnessing the future that was about to unfold, only to be swallowed by a despairing chill soon after.

After battling with Lawrence, Lorenzo became well aware of Authority: Shangdafeng. Ultimately, the way to combat this authority was the simplest: just be strong enough. Strong enough that even if they saw that future, they were unable to change a thing.

At this moment, Lorenzo seemed to be standing at the same height as Lawrence, as the Secret Blood churned and boiled under forbidden powers, the blade pulled a dazzling white light band.

Future and reality overlapped in the eyes of the Shangdafeng Demon Hunters, momentarily blurring the line between truth and illusion. They could only lift the Nail Sword in meaningless resistance, but the Armor-Piercing Hammer struck first, colliding with the Nail Sword, and amid the deep blast, the Nail Sword shattered, with broken blade shards amid the glaring sword light.

Yet another headless corpse knelt slowly, ultimately falling amid the heavy rain, while Lorenzo mechanically changed the hammerhead, eyes fixed on the end of the railway track, where amidst the raging storms, a faint whistle sounded.
