Gun of Ashes

Just like a reflection in the mirror, the iron knight resembling Lorenzo stood before him, the torrential rain washing over the dark armor, and under Lorenzo’s gaze, he raised the blade of judgment high.

Power dragged the steel, its sharp edge tearing through the wet and cold curtain of rain, followed by a piercing wail resonating in the air, as if ghosts slain by the sword were weeping.

Sparks erupted from Lorenzo’s armor, and then the sword blade nailed into the ground below, splashing water as high as a person.

The two maintained a close distance, almost simultaneously with the blade’s landing, two nail swords crossed and struck upon the helmet of the Medanzo Demon Hunter. With Lorenzo’s precise sword swing, the thin front end of the nail sword directly cut into the helmet’s crevice.

The blade lifted again, striking Lorenzo’s nail sword aside, creating a brief respite between them. Obviously, the Medanzo Demon Hunter did not want to give up this opportunity to attack, the blade swinging fiercely after shaking off Lorenzo, followed by another strike, each one whipping up a harsh cold wind, attempting to shatter Lorenzo’s armor.

Stepping back, narrowly avoiding the lethal strike, the Medanzo Demon Hunter gave no chance to breathe, raising the sword again, stepping forward for a fierce slash. Lorenzo tried to avoid this rock-like sword momentum, but was impeded by the surrounding Michael Demon Hunters.

The Demon Hunters surrounded him. Although he was prepared for the siege by the Demon Hunters, when it truly came, Lorenzo couldn’t help but feel a wave of pressure.

”Medanzo...”

Under the pouring rain, Lorenzo looked at this familiar authority, alongside a strange sense of nostalgia, he felt an unspeakable sadness.

Authority was guided out through the Alchemy Matrix engraved on the body, hence Lorenzo had already prepared for being hunted down by Demon Hunters wielding different authorities, but truly seeing this familiar authority, identical to his own, Lorenzo was momentarily dazed.

It was as if that guy was standing before him again; however, this time they were no longer friends, but sworn enemies with swords drawn.

”What a bother...”

Lorenzo whispered while dodging attacks.

To face the new Order’s Demon Hunters, he thought about this plan for a long time, even crafting corresponding weapons for each faction’s Demon Hunters, like the difficult-to-melt nail sword. Oscar said these nail swords were made from a metal called Pine Iron, with a very high melting point and are extremely sturdy.

But the Medanzo Demon Hunter before him was clearly beyond Lorenzo’s expectations; he understood this authority too well, and because of it, he was well aware that his current means were difficult to defeat it.

This was the shield, an indestructible shield; when they appeared before you, the black armor pieces joined together, forging a wall of despair.

”Left side!”

The shout came from the Demon Hunter amidst the storm. On the edge of the battlefield, there was a Demon Hunter who kept a close eye on Lorenzo—it was the Shangdafeng Demon Hunter, who saw Lorenzo’s subsequent actions.

With their shout, the Medanzo Demon Hunter didn’t even look at Lorenzo but swung the blade toward the predicted position, the heavy strike successfully hitting Lorenzo, knocking him entirely flying, landing in the accumulating water.

After rolling a few times, Lorenzo slowly crawled up from the water; the hit area was already covered with cracks, but was soon replaced by newly formed hardness, while a blazing white flame still flickered between the armor seams.

This was an unfavorable situation. After the initial surprise attack, Lorenzo fell into a disadvantage in direct combat. The Demon Hunters had completely surrounded him; under the rain, Lorenzo couldn’t see their faces, but from the dim silhouettes, he could see one ghost-like black shadow after another.

His gaze lifted, locking onto the Medanzo Demon Hunter gradually approaching him. The black iron wall was also covered with similar cracks, especially in the face armor position, where Lorenzo’s strike pierced the crevice in the face armor, revealing a burning eye, while blood continuously flowed from beneath that eyelid.

”Good coordination, you’ve practiced for a long time, right?”

Lorenzo asked, but after the rain, no one answered him, the Demon Hunters remained silent, like mute Death Gods.

In the recent surprise attack, they deeply realized Lorenzo’s fearsome nature; he was precise and deadly, abruptly killing two Demon Hunters. If the Medanzo Demon Hunter hadn’t arrived in time to block Lorenzo’s attack, the casualty might have continued to increase.

But now the net of hunters was set, Lorenzo had no chance to expand his advantage; as long as the Medanzo Demon Hunter could continue to stall Lorenzo, the Demon Hunters scattered around would gradually consume Lorenzo, until he was rendered powerless.

Lorenzo was also aware of their intentions. The greatest advantage of Authority: Medanzo was this dreadful defense; for the Medanzo Demon Hunters, fighting was a very simple matter: either kill the enemy before they break through their armor, or be killed.

Facing this sturdy armor, the other Demon Hunters had no sufficiently effective armor-breaking attacks; even if the Michael Demon Hunters could use that high temperature to directly burn the flesh behind the armor, with the special nail sword, Lorenzo had every opportunity to decapitate them before they could burn him.
