Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Welcome, my king. Descend and bathe the Celestial Demon Marten clan in blood!”

In the sky, Hao Jiuyou knelt down, his features filled with fanatical fervor and devotion.

Buzz!

As Hao Jiuyou’s voice fell, low, heavy footsteps echoed from the depths of the black vortex.

Then, two pairs of pale arms, carrying a sinister aura, slowly stretched out from deep within the vortex and pressed against its edge.

Next, two unnaturally pale faces appeared under countless gazes.

They were dressed in black robes, with long black hair casually draped over their shoulders. Their faces were quite similar, and their sickly pallor, coupled with the faint curve at the corners of their lips, gave them an oddly demonic charm.

The two appeared without saying a word, yet everyone could feel an indescribable pressure enveloping heaven and earth.

All the members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan—even the clan leader himself, whose face was usually calm—now showed a grave expression.

Two Otherworldly Demon Kings.

Each one was a true peak Reincarnation Stage expert. Even for the Celestial Demon Marten clan, such an array could not be taken lightly.

”Hehe, so you’re the Celestial Demon Marten clan leader. Judging from the looks of it, you actually managed to break free from the Eternal Illusion Demon Flower’s illusion?”

The long, narrow eyes of the two Otherworldly Demon Kings swept across this domain before finally landing on the clan leader, as one of them spoke with a faint smile.

”Two Otherworldly Demon Kings—quite the grand show. It seems you’ve had your eyes on my Celestial Demon Marten clan for quite some time.” the clan leader said indifferently.

”Report your names.”

”Hehe, I am the Heaven Illusion King,” the black‑robed man said with a slight smile. If not for the evil demonic aura shrouding his face, he might almost have passed for a refined scholar.

”I am the Earth Illusion King,” the other Otherworldly Demon King added with a light laugh.

”You creatures… even after being defeated in ancient times, your remnants still linger and your thieving hearts refuse to die.” the clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan said with a shake of his head.

”In those days, we lost only because you produced a Symbol Ancestor. Now that the Symbol Ancestor has fallen, every living being in this plane will eventually fall under the control of our Otherworldly Demon clan.” the Heaven Illusion King said with a smile.

”Our original intent was to secretly erase the Celestial Demon Marten clan’s top experts first. Judging from the situation, it seems that plan has already failed.”

The Earth Illusion King chuckled casually, then continued, ”Well, plans fail, as expected. This sort of outcome was within our calculations.

Hao Jiuyou, if you still haven’t completed the other arrangements, then I suppose there is no longer any need for you to exist.”

”My lords, I have followed your orders and made all the preparations. We may act at any time.” Hao Jiuyou said hastily.

”Not bad.”

Only then did the Heaven Illusion King and Earth Illusion King nod in satisfaction. The former looked at the clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan and the densely packed clan experts filling the surrounding sky, and smiled.

”We had intended to slowly erode your Celestial Demon Marten clan, but seeing how things stand, we will have to use more extreme methods.”

”Afraid you don’t have what it takes!”

The clan leader’s expression turned icy. He took a single step forward as terrifying Yuan Power surged from his body, making even the heavens and earth violently tremble.

It seemed that this peak expert of the Celestial Demon Marten clan could no longer restrain the killing intent in his heart.

”Activate the clan‑protecting grand array!” Zhu Li’s expression was frosty as he shouted.

”Yes!”

Deep and unified voices echoed across heaven and earth. Right after, beams of light shot up from every direction within the Celestial Demon Marten clan’s territory.

Those beams intertwined high in the sky, vaguely taking the form of a pair of enormous, resplendent bat wings stretching tens of thousands of zhang. As the wings unfurled, they covered the entire territory of the Celestial Demon Marten clan, and an unfathomable aura rippled out from their surface.

”Since you’re here, stay. To fall within my Celestial Demon Marten clan will still be worthy of your titles as Otherworldly Demon Kings.” the clan leader said coolly.

”Hehe, as arrogant as ever, just like a Celestial Demon Marten.

The Heaven Illusion King and Earth Illusion King laughed softly, then shook their heads. A faint coldness slowly crept onto their faces. ”But today, the ones who may be unlucky will likely be your Celestial Demon Marten clan.”

”Endless Illusion Realm.”

In the next moment, their voices rang out, icy and detached, filled with barely concealed killing intent and a morbid madness.

Buzz buzz!

The land suddenly began to quake. Everyone saw black light erupt from the peaks of the surrounding mountains.

The black light condensed, and under countless shocked gazes, transformed into dark, sinister flowers.

They were Eternal Illusion Demon Flowers!

”Over the past hundred years, I’ve secretly buried seeds of the Illusion Demon Flowers into the mountains through special formations.

Now, with just a single activation from my lords, the entire Celestial Demon Marten clan will be enveloped by a grand formation woven from the Eternal Illusion Demon Flowers.

And all of you… will have nowhere to run!” Hao Jiuyou lifted his head, his face twisted with cruelty as he laughed.

”Beast!”

Zhu Li’s eyes blazed with fury, his entire body shaking with rage. Never had he imagined that over the last century, Hao Jiuyou had been plotting against the Celestial Demon Marten clan all along, and to think that so many elders had trusted him so deeply.

One Eternal Illusion Demon Flower after another swayed atop the mountain peaks, emitting what seemed to be a sharp, piercing hum.

Black light spread out, finally forming a dark barrier that gradually covered the grand bat‑wing formation in the sky.

As the barrier expanded, some members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan began to feel dizzy, and even their minds grew hazy. It was a sign that they were about to fall into illusions.

”Clan leader, what should we do now?” Zhu Li asked gravely, his gaze fixed on the clan leader.

”Most of the top experts in the clan are in seclusion within the Sky Cave. They had already fallen into illusions earlier and are still unable to awaken.” The clan leader’s eyes narrowed slightly before he said,

”I will hold off one of the Otherworldly Demon Kings. Great Elder, you will lead ten Reincarnation Stage experts to block the other.”

”But that formation…” Zhu Li said with an ugly expression.

”The formation seems to be composed of sixty‑nine Eternal Illusion Demon Flowers. Leave it to me.” Lin Dong, who had been standing to the side, swept his sharp gaze over the many peaks before speaking.

”You?”

Both the clan leader and Zhu Li were stunned.

Lin Dong smiled. ”You don’t trust me?”

”If Little Friend Lin Dong can truly deal with this formation, then my Celestial Demon Marten clan will owe you a favor.” The clan leader waved his hand as he spoke.

”Hehe, since Brother Lin has taken it upon himself to break the formation, I’ll handle Hao Jiuyou.” Lin Langtian glanced at Hao Jiuyou and smiled.

”This… Hao Jiuyou even defeated Ah Diao. Little Friend Langtian, isn’t that too risky?” The clan leader and Zhu Li exchanged troubled looks.

With the power of the Otherworldly Demons bolstering him, Hao Jiuyou was troublesome even for Zhu Li, who had touched upon the Reincarnation Stage. Could the young Lin Langtian truly match him?

”Don’t worry. I’m confident.” Lin Langtian replied with a faint smile.

Seeing this, the clan leader burst into hearty laughter. ”In that case, I shall entrust you both with this. It seems Ah Diao has indeed found two good brothers this time.”

After sighing, the clan leader surveyed the scene around them, knowing that time was of the essence. ”Act now, we cannot delay.”

”Understood!”

Zhu Li nodded heavily. With a wave of his sleeve, ten figures shot out from below—these were all Reincarnation Stage super experts, the elite among the Celestial Demon Marten clan.

”In ancient times, even when the Otherworldly Demon clan was rampant, they failed to annihilate us. Now, you think two mere Otherworldly Demon Kings can overturn the Celestial Demon Marten clan? Laughable!”

In the void, the clan leader took a step forward, terrifying Yuan Power surging behind him. A Reincarnation‑like ripple spread out, and under that force, all things seemed to fall into a deathly stillness.

”Hehe, whether we can or not, you’ll find out soon enough.”

The Heaven Illusion King smiled lightly and clenched his hand. Towering demonic qi rushed forth, and eerie, black runes spread across his pallid face, making him even more sinister.

Boom!

The two locked eyes, sparks flying. In the next instant, two terrifying figures shot forward almost simultaneously. Their clash unleashed a devastating shockwave as their bodies shot straight into the nine heavens.

”Move!”

Seeing this, Zhu Li also waved his hand. The ten Reincarnation Stage experts behind him shouted in unison as eleven figures charged straight toward the Earth Illusion King.

”Hao Jiuyou, you’ll control the formation and wipe out the others.” the Earth Illusion King said with a calm glance toward Hao Jiuyou behind him.

”Yes!”

Cruelty flashed in Hao Jiuyou’s eyes as he bared his teeth at the rest of the crowd.

Having issued his command, the Earth Illusion King’s figure shot forward, plunging straight into Zhu Li and the others’ encirclement. Boundless demonic qi surged out, forcibly holding them all at bay.

Lin Langtian and Lin Dong watched the overwhelming battle that erupted in the sky, their eyes narrowing slightly.

Turning around, Lin Langtian looked at Lin Dong and said, ”Hao Jiuyou won’t sit back and let you break the formation. I’ll have to handle him.”

As his words faded, Lin Langtian lifted his head toward a certain point in the sky, where Hao Jiuyou was staring coldly in this direction, thick black illusion fragrance coiling around him. At this moment, he seemed to be able to rouse the power of the formation itself.

Hearing this, Lin Dong hesitated for a moment and then said, ”Brother Langtian, I’ll break the formation as quickly as I can. Be careful.”

”Hehe, don’t worry. Though Hao Jiuyou is strong, he’s no match for me.” Lin Langtian said with a smile.

Seeing this, Lin Dong finally relaxed. Given his understanding of Lin Langtian, the latter would not speak so confidently without absolute certainty.

With that in mind, Lin Dong nodded, then retreated swiftly, ready to lead Little Marten and the others to dismantle the formation.

As Lin Dong departed, Lin Langtian’s gaze locked onto Hao Jiuyou in the sky. His body moved, and he soared upward, appearing directly before Hao Jiuyou.

”A mere human dares to face me alone? You truly don’t know your place.” Hao Jiuyou looked at Lin Langtian, who had approached by himself, a mocking smile at his lips as he sneered.

”To deal with you, I am more than enough.”

Lin Langtian smiled as a warm, black radiance spread over his body. Any illusion fragrance that tried to invade him instantly sizzled and vanished upon contact, unable to harm him in the slightest.

”Arrogant fool. Do you think just because you have an Ancestral Stone protecting you that I can’t touch you? You ruined my plans—once I capture you, I’ll make sure you live a fate worse than death!”

Hao Jiuyou let out a sinister laugh as his hand seals changed. Immediately, the surging black floral scent around them rushed in from all directions.

With a flick of his sleeves, space trembled and over a dozen massive black tendrils pierced the void like venomous serpents, shooting toward Lin Langtian at lightning speed.

Boom!

Seeing this, Lin Langtian clenched his hand and unleashed the power of life and death, which condensed into a pitch‑black longsword. He swung, and the sword swept across the incoming tendrils.

Sizzle!

Those black tendrils, capable of easily binding an ordinary Reincarnation Stage expert, shattered and exploded the instant the sword brushed past them.

”Oh? A Reincarnation Stage expert?” Hao Jiuyou raised an eyebrow.

Such a young Reincarnation Stage expert would be considered a monstrous genius even within the Celestial Demon Marten clan.

”What, am I not allowed to be Reincarnation Stage?” Lin Langtian clasped his hands behind his back and smiled faintly.

”So that’s why you dare come alone—you’ve reached Reincarnation Stage. But even Ah Diao fell at my hands. What are you, compared to him?

In the face of absolute strength, no one matters!”

Hao Jiuyou sneered coldly. His body trembled as a pair of massive black bat wings thousands of zhang long unfurled from his back. The Yuan Power of the entire world surged violently in response.

The black illusion fragrance rapidly gathered at his severed shoulder, and in no time formed a strange black arm. Patterns of the Eternal Illusion Demon Flower were branded upon it.

”If you want to play with me, boy, I’m just afraid you can’t handle the stakes!”

His bat wings beat furiously as Hao Jiuyou’s demonic arm clenched. Feeling the boundless, ocean‑like power roaring within his body, the grin on his lips grew increasingly savage.

”Whether you can handle it or not is still too early to say!”

Lin Langtian stomped violently, and clear, ancient dragon roars and kun cries echoed from within his body.

Golden light converged behind him and burst forth with a rip, transforming into a pair of golden kun wings thousands of zhang long. Dragon scales emerged across his body, while two golden, ancient dragon horns extended from his forehead, giving him the true majesty of a dragon form.

Roar!

Dragon roars and kun cries surged and howled around Lin Langtian, the dense pressure spreading like a tide and drawing all eyes toward him.

When they saw the colossal golden kun wings at his back and the golden dragon horns on his forehead, shock rippled across the faces of many onlookers.

”This aura…”

In the midst of his fierce clash with the Heaven Illusion King, the clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan suddenly froze. From the corner of his eye, he glanced at the slender figure standing in the distant sky, and a hint of astonishment flashed through his heart.

”That’s actually the Dragon Kun Physique?!”
