Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Hehe, Great Elder Wu Qian, what do you think of handing the clan leader’s seat to my brother, Jinwu?”

Just as Wu Qian was about to decide on the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan’s next patriarch, a familiar voice suddenly rang out in the great hall. Jinwu’s expression shifted sharply as he jerked his head toward the entrance.

There, a figure strode in at a steady pace, and that familiar laugh instantly filled the hall.

”Big brother!”

Jinwu rose to his feet in delight. The figure at the entrance moved, appearing in the empty seat at the foremost position, smiling as he fixed his gaze on Great Elder Wu Qian. It was none other than Lin Langtian, who had just rushed back from the Kunpeng Clan.

Lin Langtian gave Jinwu a small nod, then turned to Wu Qian with a faint smile. ”Although I’m an outsider and not suited to participate in the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan’s elders’ council, I still hope Great Elder will consider my suggestion seriously.”

”Oh?”

Wu Qian was slightly taken aback, then recalled Lin Langtian’s earlier words. His gaze turned somewhat surprised.

”The patriarchal position has been left vacant for many years, and I imagine Great Elder has resolved to fill it now. However, among those eligible within the clan, it seems none truly meet your requirements. Otherwise, the position would not have remained empty for so long.

”Originally, Uncle Wu Ju would have been very suitable, but because of the events of the past, if he were to become patriarch, there might be some unrest within your clan.

”In that case, why not take a step back and have Jinwu serve as the next patriarch of the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan? What does everyone think?”

As his voice faded, Lin Langtian smiled slightly and swept his gaze across the hall. There was a deeper meaning in that smile.

Since Jinwu was his brother, Lin Langtian naturally wished to support him and help him seize the patriarchal seat of the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan.

As one of the eight great royal clans of the beast domain, the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan might not rival hegemon clans like the Kunpeng in strength, but their power was still immense. If Jinwu could ascend to the position of patriarch, it would greatly benefit both him and Lin Langtian.

”Let Jinwu become patriarch?”

Wu Xuan was the first to react, and light immediately flashed in his eyes as he cast a hopeful look toward Jinwu.

Indeed, even if Wu Ju was unsuitable, there was still Jinwu.

Although Jinwu was young and lacked prestige in the clan, with the support of the Wind Branch and his Nine-Evil Black Gold Crow bloodline, he was more than qualified to become the next patriarch.

Jinwu, however, was somewhat stunned. He had not expected his big brother to appear suddenly and nominate him as the new clan leader.

Although he had once established the Jinwu Territory and become the leader of a faction, the idea of becoming patriarch of the vast Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan still made him nervous and unsure.

After all, this was the clan leader of one of the eight royal clans, far beyond his previous position.

Wu Ju, standing nearby, heard this and the gloom in his eyes cleared. He looked at Jinwu with pure encouragement.

Though he himself could not become clan leader because of the past, if his son Jinwu could take that seat, it would be a long-awaited salve for his heart.

So Wu Ju exchanged a glance with Wu Xuan, and both nodded. They would now fully support Jinwu as the next patriarch.

While the Wind Branch reached a unified stance, the Forest and Fire Branch elders all scowled at Lin Langtian’s interruption, and when they heard him propose Jinwu as patriarch, they were filled with fury.

The patriarchal seat was nearly theirs, yet Lin Langtian had suddenly barged in and disrupted everything.

”Great Elder, this must not be. Though Lin Jinwu has only just cleared his name as a ’sinner’s son,’ he hasn’t been back in the clan for long, and the people are not familiar with him.

”Moreover, he is young and weak—how can he possibly shoulder the responsibility of clan leader? I believe we still need an experienced, respected candidate. Forest Branch Head Wu Xiu is the true will of the people. Making him the next patriarch is the best choice.”

Wu Yan rose abruptly, casting a dark glare at Lin Langtian before bowing to the Great Elder.

To Wu Yan, whether it was Wu Ju or Jinwu, he absolutely refused to see anyone from the Wind Branch taking the patriarchal seat.

Wu Xiu stood and said solemnly to the Great Elder, ”What Branch Head Wu Yan says is correct. If Great Elder is not satisfied with me, then making Wu Yan clan leader is also acceptable. How can such a burden be placed on a mere youth? If word spreads, others will think our Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan is devoid of talent.”

”Yes, exactly. Our Forest Branch does not agree to a greenhorn becoming clan leader.”

”Our Fire Branch also objects. Lin Jinwu has barely returned to the clan—how can he be our patriarch?”

”We oppose him. Absolutely oppose it.”

…

Under the lead of Wu Xiu and Wu Yan, the elders of the Forest and Fire branches stood in protest, spouting righteous indignation and bristling with hostility.

Seeing this, Great Elder Wu Qian hesitated. Though Lin Langtian’s suggestion tempted him, Wu Yan and Wu Xiu’s arguments were not entirely wrong.

Jinwu held little prestige in the clan, was still young, and had yet to reach the Rotary Realm. It did seem too early for him to lead the entire Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan.

”Hehe, Great Elder, although Jinwu is young and short on prestige, don’t forget, he carries the Nine-Evil Black Gold Crow bloodline. On that alone, he is more than qualified to sit in the patriarchal seat.

”Your clan once stood among the hegemon clans of the beast domain, yet these years you’ve gradually declined. Has Great Elder never considered why? If the clan continues to remain stagnant and conservative without progress, then in a few hundred or thousand years, even your status as one of the royal clans might be lost.”

Lin Langtian continued, seeing the Great Elder’s wavering.

Anyone with eyes could see Jinwu’s potential. The Nine-Evil Black Gold Crow bloodline was the clan’s strongest. Even if Jinwu had not yet matured, given some time, his future achievements would be unimaginable.

If Wu Qian could not see that far, then Lin Langtian would not bother any longer. A rigid and stagnant clan was bound to fall.

”Enough, Lin Langtian! This is the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan’s elders’ meeting—what right do you have to speak here?

”Our clan’s future is for us alone to decide. If you, an outsider, keep meddling, don’t blame us for throwing you out.”

Wu Xiu and Wu Yan’s tempers flared, and they sneered coldly. ”If you think a few fancy lines will make us accept your proposal, you’re far too naive.

”The patriarchal seat will never go to some snot-nosed brat!”

”Wu Xiu, Wu Yan, mind your words! Young friend Langtian is a treasured guest of our Wind Branch!” Wu Xuan barked at them.

Jinwu also stood, eyes icy as he stared at Wu Xiu and Wu Yan. Being belittled was one thing, but he would never allow anyone to disrespect his big brother.

Lin Langtian waved a hand, looking at Wu Xiu and Wu Yan with faint amusement. Then his slender fingers bent slightly, and a golden light flashed. A golden Kun seal appeared in his hand.

”Gentlemen, do you recognize this?”

Wu Xiu and Wu Yan’s gazes snapped to the object the moment it appeared. The Forest and Fire elders then saw the mocking sneers on their faces freeze.

Replaced by deep shock and disbelief.

”T-that’s… the Kunpeng Clan’s Law Enforcement Seal? Why is it in your hand?!”

Wu Xiu and Wu Yan were stunned. Then they bellowed, ”You dared steal the Kunpeng Clan’s Law Enforcement Seal? Do you have a death wish? Do you know how serious a crime that is?!”

Being knowledgeable, they quickly recognized the Kun seal’s origin and smirked coldly inwardly.

The Kunpeng Clan was one of the four hegemon clans of the beast domain. If they learned someone had stolen from them, even a Samsara Realm expert would suffer.

”Crime? This was personally given to me by their Supreme Elder. What crime would that be?”

Lin Langtian smiled as he stared at them, his gaze turning frosty. ”I am the Kunpeng Clan’s new Law Enforcement Elder. Does that qualify me to stand here?”

Though Lin Langtian was the Lord of the Heavenly Palace with capable subordinates, the palace was far off in the Eastern Xuan Region and not well-known in the beast domain, not to mention it was a human force.

But the Kunpeng Law Enforcement Elder was a different matter.

The Kunpeng, as one of the four great hegemon clans, stood at the pinnacle of the beast domain’s power structure. Even the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan must be respectful.

The Law Enforcement Elder’s status within the Kunpeng Clan was on par with the Great Elder and just below the clan leader. In terms of identity alone, he surpassed even the eight royal clan patriarchs.

Thus, by merely revealing his current identity, all within the Seven-Evil Black Gold Crow Clan would have to treat Lin Langtian as a noble guest—or risk offending the Kunpeng Clan, which was a price the Crow Clan could not afford.

Wu Xiu and Wu Yan understood the implication, and their faces fell. ”Nonsense. The Kunpeng Clan’s Law Enforcement Elder holds immense power. How could they hand such a position to an outsider like you?!”

They angrily refused to believe it. They were familiar with the Kunpeng Clan’s hierarchy and knew that the Law Enforcement Elder’s authority was second only to the clan leader and equal to the Great Elder.

To give such an exalted position to a human? It sounded like a joke.

Lin Langtian’s expression cooled, and he did not waste more words.

He slowly rose, gripping the Law Enforcement Seal. His skin began to shimmer with golden light.

A pure and indescribably fearsome Dragon-Kun pressure surged outward like a tidal wave, flooding the great hall.

Under that pressure, the very air seemed to harden. Faces turned solemn, and everyone could sense the pure bloodline might.

Such pure Kunpeng might was beyond what any ordinary Kunpeng bloodline bearer could unleash.

In their shock, everyone’s gazes shifted toward Wu Xiu and Wu Yan, whose faces had gone pale.

As those bearing the brunt of Lin Langtian’s pressure, they were nearly crushed.

”This… this pressure…”

Their eyes trembled as they stared at Lin Langtian, as if seeing through his body. Deep within, in his blood, a Dragon-Kun seemed coiled, exuding endless ancient majesty.

”Kunpeng blood essence… You actually possess Kunpeng blood essence?!”

They couldn’t help but cry out. They could clearly feel the power in his body—such dense and pure pressure could only come from a noble Kunpeng bloodline.

Lin Langtian curled his lips but did not bother to correct them. Letting them believe it was ordinary Kunpeng essence was enough—no need to reveal everything. It was always good to keep a card hidden.

Great Elder Wu Qian’s pupils narrowed slightly. This pressure didn’t feel like ordinary Kunpeng blood essence. Within it, he even detected a wisp of dragon aura.

Thinking of this and seeing the Kunpeng Law Enforcement Seal in Lin Langtian’s hand, Wu Qian’s mind raced toward a bold possibility that startled him.

”Could it be… the Beiming Dragon-Kun blood essence?”

With that thought, he felt almost certain. Otherwise, how could Lin Langtian, a human, receive the Kunpeng Clan’s Law Enforcement Elder title from their Supreme Elder?

It was clear Lin Langtian’s value was so great that even a Samsara powerhouse had to personally recruit him.

Realizing this, Wu Qian’s eyes filled with astonishment. That was Dragon-Kun blood essence—a power even within the Kunpeng Clan which no second person had ever inherited.

In other words, a man carrying the Dragon-Kun bloodline stood before them. His potential… was unfathomable.

”I took a stroll through the Kunpeng Clan’s Beiming Abyss. Now, do you still have any objections?” Lin Langtian asked Wu Xiu and Wu Yan calmly.

”Beiming Abyss…”

They muttered the words. That was a sacred ground in the Kunpeng Clan, a place countless Kunpeng experts dreamed of entering—yet only their greatest geniuses were allowed in.

And Lin Langtian, an outsider, had not only entered but had obtained blood essence of such purity. Such fortune was enough to inspire endless envy.

”Wu Yan, Wu Xiu greet the Kunpeng Law Enforcement Elder.”

Their expressions shifted rapidly before they finally exchanged a helpless look, sighed, and bowed in unison to Lin Langtian.
