Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”How is that possible? Just now, Hao Jiuyou could only fight Brother Ah Diao to a draw. How did his strength suddenly increase so much?”

Wu Zhong stared at Little Marten, who had been defeated by Hao Jiuyou, his hands clenching tightly as he spoke in anger.

Some members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan around them slightly furrowed their brows, clearly somewhat puzzled as well.

”This…”

On the steps, Zhu Li and the others watched this scene, their expressions also a little shocked.

After all, judging from the strength the two had displayed earlier, it should not have been an easy matter to decide the victor.

”Hehe, it seems Hao Jiuyou is still a cut above. No wonder; everyone has seen how diligent he has been over the past hundred years. Ah Diao’s talent is astonishing, but he has ultimately fallen behind by a century.” an elder said with a smile.

”Yes, Great Elder, the contest already has a result. Should we…?” another elder who supported Hao Jiuyou also nodded and said.

Hearing this, Zhu Li’s brows furrowed slightly. He exchanged a glance with several elders and, after a brief hesitation, could only nod helplessly.

”In this contest, Hao Jiuyou holds a slight advantage,” Zhu Li raised his head, looked at the figure in the sky, and announced in a deep voice.

”Hehe, many thanks to Brother Ah Diao for yielding.”

High in the sky, the gentle smile had already returned to Hao Jiuyou’s face. He looked toward the distant, caved‑in cliff wall, clasped his hands together, and smiled.

Boom!

The cliff wall exploded, and amid flying rubble, a figure suddenly shot out.

At this moment, Little Marten’s expression was somewhat dark. Just moments ago, Hao Jiuyou could indeed only match him, but it was obvious that the latter had secretly used some method that caused his strength to suddenly rise, and it had even become a little strange.

”That power doesn’t belong to you, does it?” Little Marten fixed Hao Jiuyou with a sharp gaze and spoke slowly.

”Brother Ah Diao, what are you talking about?” Hao Jiuyou gave a faint smile, then ignored him and turned his head to look at Zhu Li below.

”Great Elder, since the contest already has a result, then regarding the position of clan leader candidate…”

Zhu Li sighed inwardly, then nodded and said, ”From this day forth, within the Celestial Demon Marten clan, the new clan leader candidate shall be Hao Jiuyou!”

As Zhu Li’s voice fell, an uproar immediately spread across the square.

Many members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan revealed disappointed expressions. They glanced at Little Marten in the sky; who could have expected that this once incomparably dazzling genius of the clan would also suffer defeat one day?

Little Marten paid little heed to the many gazes. He simply gave Hao Jiuyou a deep look and then descended.

”Ah Diao.”

Seeing Little Marten land, Wu Zhong hurriedly went up to him, gritting his teeth as he said, ”How could that guy possibly beat you?!”

Little Marten waved his hand. Although he also felt some confusion inside, raising doubts at this time would only make the clan think he was narrow‑minded and unable to accept his own defeat. Thus, saying more would be pointless.

”Let’s go.”

Little Marten said this to Wu Zhong, then turned and walked away.

Seeing this, Wu Zhong could only sigh. He understood Little Marten extremely well and knew the pride in the latter’s heart.

Today’s defeat must have been incredibly hard for him to swallow.

”Hehe, to think that someone from the dignified Celestial Demon Marten clan would actually use the power of the Otherworldly Demons. How rare…”

However, just as Little Marten turned around, a familiar laugh suddenly rang out from afar and, wrapped in Yuan Power, rumbled through heaven and earth.

”Lin Dong?!”

Upon hearing this laugh, Little Marten’s figure abruptly stiffened. He then whipped around, eyes filled with surprise and delight as he looked toward the distant sky.

”Who?!”

In the sky, Hao Jiuyou’s expression changed, and he shouted sharply.

Below, many powerful members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan were also startled. Their gazes swept all around, searching for the source of the voice.

”Whoosh!”

In the distance, the sound of wind being split rang out. Shortly after, two streaks of light shot forth at high speed, and under countless watching eyes, appeared in the sky and revealed their figures.

The two were Lin Dong and Lin Langtian, who had entered the Sky Cave.

At this moment, Lin Langtian was also gazing at Hao Jiuyou with slightly narrowed eyes. From the latter’s body, he sensed a familiar aura—precisely the power of the Otherworldly Demons.

However, the demonic power within Hao Jiuyou was clearly not as pure as the baleful energy within Lin Langtian’s own body, and under the corrosion of this Otherworldly Demon power, Hao Jiuyou had likely long since lost his sanity and become nothing more than a puppet of the Otherworldly Demons.

”Who are you two?! How dare you intrude into my Celestial Demon Marten clan—are you courting death?!”

At this moment, some elders of the Celestial Demon Marten clan saw this and immediately flew into a rage. Vast Yuan Power surged out of them as they prepared to take action and seize Lin Dong and Lin Langtian.

”Gentlemen, what exactly did you mean by what you just said?”

Zhu Li waved a hand to restrain the elders behind him. His gaze, however, was firmly locked onto the two figures in the sky.

He had heard clearly what Lin Dong had just said, and as the Great Elder of the Celestial Demon Marten clan, he naturally knew much about the Otherworldly Demons.

”You elders of the Celestial Demon Marten clan are truly muddle‑headed. Not only have the Otherworldly Demons infiltrated your clan, but within the Sky Cave, a trap has even been set.

All of the experts in seclusion inside have fallen into an illusion. To think that you have failed to notice this for so many years—you truly have grown senile.” Lin Langtian spoke indifferently, hands clasped behind his back.

”Who exactly are you two to spout such nonsense? Seeking death!”

The two elders who had always supported Hao Jiuyou changed expression at his words and immediately roared furiously. Their bodies moved at once, both striking out as they reached for Lin Langtian and Lin Dong.

Buzz!

However, just as the two were about to approach Lin Langtian and Lin Dong, the space around them suddenly rippled. A stalwart figure with dark‑gold long hair appeared beside them out of nowhere.

The newcomer stretched out a large hand and squeezed down fiercely. The two Celestial Demon Marten elders, who had stepped into the Reincarnation Stage, suddenly found their bodies frozen in place.

”You two elders are in such a hurry to strike to kill—are your consciences guilty?!”

That stalwart figure stared at the two suddenly terrified elders with eyes filled with boundless majesty. His deep voice resounded.

”Clan leader?!”

”Respectfully welcoming the clan leader!”

Below, when the many members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan saw the figure that had appeared in the sky, their expressions changed greatly. The next instant, they knelt down in waves, and voices of reverence echoed between heaven and earth.

In the sky, Hao Jiuyou’s expression also changed drastically due to the appearance of the clan leader, but he quickly composed himself and knelt respectfully. Only the hands within his sleeves couldn’t help but clench tightly.

”Clan leader!”

The two Celestial Demon Marten elders who had taken action also turned pale at the sight, a trace of panic flashing in their eyes as they hurriedly dropped to their knees in mid‑air.

”You unfilial brat, so you are still alive.” The clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan ignored the kneeling clansmen and instead looked toward Little Marten, his gaze complex.

Little Marten glanced at the clan leader and replied lazily, with little reverence in his tone, ”Old man, are you that eager to see white‑haired folk send off black‑haired ones?”

”Such impudence, no manners at all!”

The clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan berated him. Yet, from the smile on his face, it was clear how overjoyed he was to see his son, who had been missing for a hundred years, once again.

”Clan leader, you are finally out of seclusion.” Zhu Li also rose at this time. His body flickered as he appeared in front of the clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan, joy spreading across his old face.

”Great Elder, you have truly disappointed this king this time.” The clan leader looked at Zhu Li, his brows knitting together as he spoke in a deep voice.

”Clan leader?”

Zhu Li was stunned, clearly not understanding the source of the clan leader’s rebuke.

”The Sky Cave is an important place of our Celestial Demon Marten clan, yet the Otherworldly Demon clan secretly planted the ’Eternal Illusion Demon Flower’ within it, causing this king and all the experts in seclusion there to fall into an illusion.

If not for Little Friend Langtian and Little Friend Lin Dong infiltrating it today to rescue us, our Celestial Demon Marten clan would likely have suffered disastrous losses!” the clan leader said sternly.

”What?!”

Upon hearing this, Zhu Li’s face instantly turned deathly pale, and the members of the Celestial Demon Marten clan below also stood up abruptly, their faces filled with shock.

”Clan leader, is… is this true?”

Zhu Li asked with a trembling voice. The severity of this matter was enough to cause the Celestial Demon Marten clan to fall from the ranks of the four hegemonic clans.

”Hehe, whether it is true or not will be clear with a simple test. Brother Lin, since the Great Elder harbors doubts, let those Otherworldly Demons hidden within the Celestial Demon Marten clan show themselves.” Lin Langtian said with a faint smile.

Hearing this, Lin Dong nodded. Under the puzzled gazes of many Celestial Demon Marten clansmen, he clenched his hand and an ancient stone talisman emerged.

A gentle white glow then rose, forming a peculiar light symbol. With a flick of his finger, the symbol split apart into two beams of light that descended to envelop the two elders.

Sizzle sizzle!

Under the illumination of the white light, wisps of black energy seeped out from the surface of their skin. That black energy carried an incomparably evil aura.

”You…”

Seeing this, Zhu Li’s expression instantly turned icy as his sharp gaze locked onto the two.

”You two should both possess Demon Seeds within your bodies, correct?” Lin Langtian said with a faint smile as he looked at the two who were filled with terror.

When it came to Demon Seeds, there was likely no one who understood them better than he did.

”This…”

The two elders’ faces were filled with horror, but a vicious light suddenly flashed in their eyes. In the next instant, their bodies shot backward, surging, evil demonic qi flooding out from within them as their auras began to soar.

”You two traitors!”

Zhu Li roared in rage and took a step forward. With a sweep of his great hand, the sky dimmed as two giant claws of light descended from above, directly covering the two elders whose bodies were wrapped in demonic qi.

As someone who had touched upon the Reincarnation Stage, Zhu Li’s strength was clearly extraordinary.

Bang bang!

Seeing this, the two elders each threw out a punch. The evil demonic qi turned into ferocious giant pythons that forcibly resisted the giant claws of light.

Their figures then moved as they shot thousands of zhang away. Clearly, by relying on the power of the Otherworldly Demons, their strength had also been boosted.

”Hmph.”

To the side, when the clan leader of the Celestial Demon Marten clan saw them still resisting, an icy light appeared in his eyes. He stretched out a hand and clenched down toward them from afar.

Boom!

The space where the two stood immediately collapsed, and the terrifying force squeezing in from all directions caused them to cough up blood on the spot. Their auras withered almost instantly.

”You two are senior elders of my clan, yet you have committed such an act of treachery!” The clan leader’s cold voice, tinged with anger, echoed between heaven and earth.

”Once the Demon Seeds are activated and the demonic qi invades the mind, their sanity has already been corroded. There is no point in the clan leader being angry.”

Lin Langtian shook his head, then said softly, ”Right now, it is more important to first clean out all the hidden dangers within the Celestial Demon Marten clan.”

”Gentlemen, this will trouble you.”

The clan leader looked toward Lin Langtian and Lin Dong. Demon Seeds were buried extremely deeply, and even he found them difficult to detect. Clearly, however, Lin Langtian and Lin Dong both possessed special methods.

Lin Langtian and Lin Dong nodded slightly. The two exchanged a look, then, in perfect unison, turned their gazes toward Hao Jiuyou, smiling as they said,

”Brother Hao Jiuyou, do you still plan on hiding?”

The entire field fell silent. Everyone stared in shock at Hao Jiuyou in the sky. Could it be that he, too, had been corrupted by the Otherworldly Demons?

In the sky, Hao Jiuyou still maintained a kneeling posture, but then his shoulders suddenly began to tremble slightly.

A laugh filled with heavily suppressed killing intent rang out. He slowly rose to his feet, evil demonic qi surging in his twin pupils, erasing all trace of his usual gentleness and making him appear hideously twisted instead.

”You wretched child!”

Seeing this, Zhu Li’s entire body trembled, his face turning an especially ghastly shade.

He pointed at Hao Jiuyou, heart filled with lingering fear. He had nearly handed the position of Celestial Demon Marten clan leader candidate to such a person.

”Haha.”

Now that things were exposed, Hao Jiuyou simply threw back his head and laughed. His body shook and a faint black fragrance slowly spread from within him.

”Great Elder, be careful. That is the Eternal Illusion Demon Flower’s illusion incense. Once you inhale it, you will fall into an illusion!” Lin Dong’s eyes hardened as he quickly shouted.

Hearing this, Zhu Li’s expression changed. With a wave of his sleeve, his Yuan Power surged out like a rainbow, shattering all the drifting black incense.

”My body is permeated with the Eternal Illusion Demon Flower’s illusion incense. Once you kill me, my body will self‑destruct and the illusion incense will engulf the entire Celestial Demon Marten clan.

All of you will fall into illusions, and at that time, the Celestial Demon Marten clan may very well vanish from this world.” Hao Jiuyou spread his arms wide and laughed loudly.

”You wretched child!” Zhu Li and the other elders roared furiously.

”This time, I was simply unlucky, but I have not lost yet!”

Hao Jiuyou’s face no longer bore its usual gentleness. Instead, it was incomparably ferocious. He formed a seal with his hands, then suddenly clenched his palms toward the two elders who had just been restrained by the clan leader.

”Bang!”

As his hands clenched, the bodies of the two elders exploded directly.

Blood mist spread, thick, evil demonic qi surging forth. It rapidly converged in front of Hao Jiuyou, forming an enormous black vortex.

Standing behind the black vortex, Hao Jiuyou gave a ferocious grin toward Lin Langtian, Lin Dong, and the others. Then, he drew a line across his shoulder with a finger, severing his arm. Blood spurted from the broken limb and shot into the black vortex.

”Welcome, my king. Descend and bathe the Celestial Demon Marten clan in blood!”
