Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Flame Alliance... Lin Langtian...”

Around the rocky clearing, all the commotion abruptly ceased. Gazes that had been watching the spectacle with amusement gradually shifted to shock and awe as whispers spread.

Flame Alliance?!

The name, filled with an almost mystical power, caused a quiet shiver in their hearts. Just days ago, many had heard rumors of the astonishing battle that took place in the arena of Myriad Phenomena City. There, one of the top three Super Dynasties, the Great Zhao Dynasty, hadn’t even managed to reach the core region before being thoroughly defeated. And the victors had no remarkable backgrounds—they were simply a coalition of lesser-known dynasties.

When news of this seismic event broke, nearly everyone burned the name into their minds—the name of those bold enough to challenge the Super Dynasties, even as a low-ranking alliance. The Flame Alliance.

And now, that name from the rumors seemed to have finally come to life before their eyes...

Some people swallowed nervously, their eyes filling with reverence as they gazed at the figure standing at the forefront of the Flame Alliance. Few had expected that a figure so renowned within the core region would make an appearance here.

Liu Bai, noticing Lin Langtian and his group, seemed to see them as a lifeline and called out happily, ”Brother Langtian, Brother Lin Dong—you’re here!”

Liu Bai had, of course, heard the name of the Flame Alliance many times in recent days. When he first learned of their astounding feat, he had been skeptical, wondering if it was really possible. But after inquiring repeatedly, he had confirmed that the ones who had toppled the Great Zhao Dynasty were none other than the friends he’d made in the northwestern region, Lin Langtian and Lin Dong.

This revelation had shocked him deeply. He had thought Lin Langtian and Lin Dong were undoubtedly people of remarkable potential, but he hadn’t anticipated they would possess the strength to take down a top-tier dynasty in the Hundred Dynasty Battle.

As Lin Langtian led the Flame Alliance forward, Liu Bai’s gaze held a renewed glimmer of hope.

Across the way, however, the expressions of the Bloodseal Dynasty’s warriors changed drastically. When they saw Liu Bai chatting with Lin Langtian and his allies, their eyes couldn’t help but narrow.

”Flame Alliance?”

The young man in the blood-red robes sneered, but his expression faltered when he saw Lin Langtian’s calm and commanding figure. His tone was somber as he said, ”I hadn’t expected to encounter the esteemed Lin Langtian. May I ask the purpose of the Flame Alliance’s visit?”

”Oh, I heard the Earthshade Alliance was looking to cause trouble for us, the Heaven’s Alliance. So, here I am. Is that a problem?” Lin Langtian asked with a calm smile as he strode to the center of the area, his gaze fixed on the red-clad youth before him.

The young man’s expression darkened slightly, and he quickly replied, ”You misunderstand, Lord Langtian. The Earthshade Alliance is only targeting Liu Bai and Yan Sen, not daring to provoke the two of you from the Flame Alliance.”

Seeing Lin Langtian’s intent gaze, he hurried to explain.

Since the Flame Alliance had defeated the Great Zhao Dynasty, the Earthshade Alliance knew better than to provoke Lin Langtian and Lin Dong; the risk was far too high. Zhao Wuji’s death had proven that the Flame Alliance was not to be trifled with.

”So you have no plans to provoke the Flame Alliance…” Lin Langtian muttered. But just as the blood-robed youth started to feel relief, Lin Langtian’s smile deepened. Noticing the golden glint from the youth’s hand, he chuckled coldly.

”These Heaven-grade Nirvana Seals are quite tempting. And since you claim you aren’t planning to provoke us, perhaps the Flame Alliance should take the initiative and find some trouble with the Earthshade Alliance.”

”Lin Langtian, you go too far!” The blood-robed youth’s face darkened as he realized Lin Langtian’s intent—the Flame Alliance had targeted his Bloodseal Dynasty!

”Oh? So it’s fine for the Earthshade Alliance to ambush Heaven’s Alliance members, but not for us to fight back?” Lin Dong stepped forward, his smile cold as he addressed the blood-robed youth.

”Brother Lin Dong has a point! The Bloodseal Dynasty’s downfall is near!” Liu Bai added with a fierce expression, clearly pleased that Lin Langtian and Lin Dong were openly challenging the Earthshade Alliance. With the Flame Alliance’s backing, it was only natural for him to align with them fully.

The blood-robed youth’s face twisted in fury as he realized the full extent of the danger. Gritting his teeth, he quickly unleashed several crimson daggers, which shot out with deadly precision toward Lin Langtian and his group.

At the same time, he gestured to his men, signaling them to retreat as he leaped backward, intending to flee.

Clang!

The crimson blades hurtled through the air, but as they neared Lin Langtian, his palm curled slightly, and with a decisive grip, a fiery red light blazed in his hand, instantly forming a shield of searing flames.

In the next instant, the thin shield of blazing flames completely deflected the sharp, bloody daggers meant to pierce through even the body of a peak Three-Yuan Nirvana expert.

Whoosh!

Then, with a twist of Lin Langtian’s palm, the fiery shield began to rotate furiously before transforming into a beam of red-hot light, cutting through the air directly towards the blood-robed man. The fiery shield moved so quickly that even Little Marten raised an eyebrow, silently impressed by his ”elder brother’s” skill.

At that moment, the blood-robed man caught a flash of red from the corner of his eye. He sensed an overwhelming threat emanating from it, and without delay, gathered a surge of blood-tinged energy in his palm, forming a giant blood-red hand that collided fiercely with the oncoming fiery shield.

Bang!

The fiery red light slammed into the blood-red palm with a violent burst of force, sending shockwaves across the sky that sliced through the nearby towering trees as if they were mere twigs.

Thud!

The terrifying impact sent the blood-robed man spiraling downward, coughing up blood. Before he could react, Lin Langtian reached out and gripped his hand tightly. Under the blood-robed man’s furious gaze, Langtian absorbed every trace of the dazzling golden Nirvana Seal from his palm.

”Heh, such a potent Heaven-tier Nirvana Seal. It seems you absorbed quite a few others along the way, but now it’s my gain,” Lin Langtian said with a calm smile, his own Nirvana Seal turning an even richer shade of purple-gold as he absorbed the one he took.

”Curse you!” spat the blood-robed man, his battered form crashing down as he struggled to regain his breath. Rage twisted his face as he realized his hard-won Nirvana Seal, collected through countless battles and absorbing the energy of ten Four-Yuan Nirvana masters, had been stripped away in an instant. All his efforts—gone, wasted!

”Survival of the fittest. You’ve no one to blame but yourself.” Lin Langtian sneered coldly. Had he been the weaker one today, not only would he have lost his Nirvana Seal, but his blood would also have been taken to complete the man’s dark ritual.

The victor writes the story—there was no use blaming fate.

With a flick of his fingers, Lin Langtian sent out a small flame that landed on the blood-robed man. It quickly swelled, consuming him in what seemed like the fires of hell. In a flash, he was reduced to nothing but ash, not a trace remaining.

”What terrifying strength…”

Many watched, wide-eyed and speechless, as the blood-robed man turned to ashes, their gazes shifting with awe and fear to the poised, serene figure of Lin Langtian standing amidst the night sky. In an instant, he had effortlessly destroyed the leader of the Bloodseal Dynasty—a masterful show of ruthlessness and control. Such was the power and character of Lin Langtian, leader of the Flame Alliance.

Meanwhile, Lin Dong had led the rest of the Flame Alliance to swiftly obliterate the remaining forces of the Bloodseal Dynasty with little resistance. As a major Super Dynasty, each member of the Bloodseal Dynasty carried powerful Nirvana Seals, leaving the Flame Alliance with a satisfying haul by the end of the battle.

The Heaven-tier Nirvana Seals held by Lin Langtian’s group of five were now even brighter, with a hint of purple-gold. Su Rou, in particular, advanced from an Earth-tier to a Heaven-tier Nirvana Seal, which left the group with six Heaven-tier Seals in total. Such a bounty was enviable and would undoubtedly spark jealousy if word got out.

Even Su Kui, Mo Ling, Mo Tie, and other senior members of the Flame Alliance absorbed a substantial number of Nirvana Seals. Though they hadn’t yet reached the Heaven-tier level, the faint glimmer of gold in their Nirvana Seals showed they were at the peak of the Earth-tier, putting a further upgrade within easy reach.

”The Flame Alliance… they’re this strong…”

Many bystanders could barely find words. It was hard to believe that a coalition of low-ranking dynasties could bring together so many prodigies in one place.

Some people looked at the increasingly radiant Nirvana Seals on the Flame Alliance members with undisguised envy.

”Congratulations, Brother Langtian, on eradicating the Bloodseal Dynasty. You’ve really given us in the Heavenly Alliance a huge morale boost,” said Liu Bai, visibly astonished by how smoothly the Flame Alliance had crushed the Bloodseal Dynasty. Quickly recovering, he offered his sincere congratulations to Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian only waved a hand dismissively and replied, ”The Bloodseal Dynasty is no big deal.”

Liu Bai was momentarily taken aback and then forced a slight smile. The Bloodseal Dynasty was, after all, a formidable Super Dynasty and a crucial part of the Earthshade Alliance. Yet, to Lin Langtian, they appeared as insignificant.

It seemed the gap between people truly could be this vast.

Taking a deep breath, Liu Bai clasped his hands in respect toward Lin Langtian and said earnestly, ”Regardless, I, Liu Bai, will never forget what you and the Flame Alliance have done for us.”

”Brother Liu Bai, you’re too kind,” Lin Dong said with a light smile as he rejoined Lin Langtian with a group of their allies.

”The Heavenly Alliance and Earthshade Alliance were always opposed,” added Little Marten with a wry grin. ”Now that we’ve crushed the Bloodseal Dynasty, why not finish off the rest of the Four Great Demonic Clans’ heirs?”

Beside him, Xiao Yan, his fierce face breaking into a grin, nodded in agreement. ”Third Brother’s right! And with all our allies here, this is a perfect chance to gather more Nirvana Seals.”

”Sounds good. By the way, which are the other dynasties in the Earthshade Alliance?” Jinwu inquired, looking intrigued.

Seeing the key members of the Flame Alliance discussing the Earthshade Alliance as if they were already a foregone conclusion, Liu Bai couldn’t help but wipe his brow in amazement. People who thought the Flame Alliance depended solely on Lin Langtian would be gravely mistaken. Though not yet as renowned as Langtian, Lin Dong and the others were absolute powerhouses in the ancient battleground!

Liu Bai, wondering at the power concentrated in the Flame Alliance, explained, ”Of the Four Great Demonic Clans’ inheritors, you’ve already dealt with the Bloodseal Dynasty. The remaining dynasties are the Daluo Dynasty, the Bonejade Dynasty, and the Heaven Demon Dynasty. The strongest among them is the Heaven Demon Dynasty, one of the Top Ten Super Dynasties. They’re led by the trio known as the Three Demons: Song Zhen, Song Que, and Song Ba, each a formidable Five-Yuan Nirvana master with powerful allies under their command.”

Upon hearing about the Earthshade Alliance’s power, Xiao Yan’s eyes glinted with enthusiasm. His fierce face showed no trace of concern; rather, it was full of battle lust.

And it wasn’t just Xiao Yan. Many Flame Alliance members were equally excited, each eager for the challenge ahead.

Witnessing this, Liu Bai felt a newfound respect for the Flame Alliance. Their strength was formidable, but even more remarkable was their unity and fighting spirit—qualities that hinted at vast potential.

Having resolved to eliminate the remaining Earthshade Alliance dynasties, Lin Langtian and Liu Bai’s teams parted ways for now. Night was falling, and in the ancient battleground’s core region, darkness held a particular ferocity. Though the main Flame Alliance members could endure, many of the standard members, such as Mo Ling and Su Kui, would struggle.

Moreover, there was an additional reason to wait: after the battle, Lin Dong and Xiao Yan both showed signs of a breakthrough.

Having reached the peak of Three-Yuan Nirvana in an ancient vault, the two had since gained immense benefits from the grueling battles. Lin Dong’s innate talent and Xiao Yan’s unique bloodline as a Heaven Demon Tiger made them exceptionally suited to rapid advancement.

Thus, the Flame Alliance, with Liu Bai and his group in tow, descended a nearby mountain and set up camp. Without wasting time, Lin Dong and Xiao Yan sat cross-legged, and under Mo Ling’s awed gaze, waves of formidable Yuan Power began to radiate around them.

”Looks like they’re about to enter the Fourth Nirvana Tribulation,” Lin Langtian murmured, sensing the potent energy building around the two.
