Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Inside the room, Lin Langtian sat across from Clan Leader Lin Fan, whom he hadn’t seen in six months. Lin Fan, noticing the powerful energy radiating from Lin Langtian, allowed a small smile to appear on his previously stoic face.

He gestured for Lin Langtian to sit and then, with a quick look over him, said with a smile, ”Another breakthrough?”

”A modest improvement,” Lin Langtian replied lightly. Over the past half-year, his strength had soared, nearly doubling. Still, Lin Langtian, cautious by nature, kept his impressive progress understated, even with the clan leader.

Lin Fan noticed this humility and felt even more reassured. Having led the Lin Clan for decades, he understood that while talent was abundant across the continent, only those with patience and discipline could grow into truly exceptional warriors.

Noticing Lin Langtian’s composure, Lin Fan chuckled. ”You have talent, Langtian, but you also have an eye for recognizing it in others. That young girl you brought back from the branch family in Yan City—Lin Qingtan—has become a well-known name in the clan, even surpassing Lin Ke’er in reputation.”

When Lin Langtian returned from the tomb half a year ago, he had brought Qingtan with him. Initially, Lin Fan hadn’t thought much of it. Although it was unusual to bring someone so young back to the main house, Lin Langtian was the head enforcer and the clan’s most promising talent. Lin Fan chose to look the other way.

Some clan members had gossiped, questioning why Lin Langtian would bring a young and beautiful girl back to the clan, even starting ridiculous rumors. However, these rumors were silenced as Qingtan’s strength emerged. The once-unknown girl was quickly revealed to be a prodigy, advancing to the Greater Form Realm within half a year. Her chilling power was so fearsome that even some elders avoided her.

Her meteoric rise further proved Lin Langtian’s foresight.

”Clan Leader, you’re too kind. Qingtan’s unique physique allows her to achieve these results. I just happened to recognize her potential,” Lin Langtian replied with a smile. ”She also has a brother with similar talent. I believe he, too, will achieve great things someday.”

”Oh? Another promising talent? Who is he?” Lin Fan asked, intrigued.

”Lin Dong,” Lin Langtian replied.

”Lin Dong?” Lin Fan murmured, then chuckled. ”If he has your approval, he must be impressive. With the Seed Selection in a year and a half, I’m confident you’ll secure a spot, but if Lin Qingtan or even Lin Dong were to enter as well, it would be a rare achievement for our clan to take two spots.”

Lin Langtian smiled. If not for the interest of the Dark Hall in Qingtan, he would have confidently entered her in the Seed Selection. With a little training, she could easily surpass many so-called ”geniuses” within the Great Yan Empire. If the clan took three spots, Lin Fan would surely be overjoyed.

Imagining that scenario, Lin Langtian chuckled, then turned to Lin Fan, asking, ”You called me here. What do you need?”

Hearing this, Lin Fan’s smile faded slightly. He extended his right hand, revealing a faintly glowing, light purple crystal.

The purple crystal was perfectly cut into a diamond shape, transparent like polished gemstone, and emitting a faint energy like a tiny power source. As soon as Lin Langtian took the crystal from Lin Fan’s hand, he felt a tremor from the Gold Spirit Mirror in his dantian, more intense than ever before.

”Boy, don’t just stand there—this crystal is essential for repairing the Gold Spirit Mirror,” his spirit guide, Ling Yi, said suddenly.

”Repairing the Gold Spirit Mirror?” Lin Langtian’s eyes flashed with restrained excitement. The mirror had suffered significant damage in the explosion that had brought Ling Yi to the Tianxuan Continent. His attempts to unlock more of its functions had so far been futile, so the potential for even partial restoration was thrilling.

Holding the purple crystal, he looked up at Lin Fan. ”Clan Leader, what exactly is this crystal?”

”This is an Amethyst Spirit Crystal,” Lin Fan explained. ”It’s a rare crystal, believed to form only in places where Nirvana-stage warriors have fallen. It not only absorbs surrounding energy but also soaks up the residual power of Nirvana warriors over time, which gives it a hint of Nirvana essence. Though it isn’t as potent as a Nirvana Pill, to warriors in the Greater Creation Realm, it’s invaluable. It can help to increase combat strength even if one can’t reach the Nirvana stage.”

Lin Fan continued, ”In fact, the Amethyst Spirit Crystal is also essential in crafting high-level treasures or even Earth-tier spiritual treasures, making it very valuable. A member of our clan found this piece while excavating a black stone mine.”

”Then why haven’t we mined this source fully? We could potentially find more of these crystals,” Lin Langtian asked, raising an eyebrow. A vein of Amethyst Spirit Crystals would bring immense wealth, perhaps making the Lin Clan the most powerful of the four great clans.

Lin Fan shook his head with a wry smile. ”That was my first thought, too. But unfortunately, this mine has already attracted other interests.”

”What power would dare disregard our clan?” Lin Langtian’s face darkened. The Lin Clan was one of the Great Yan Empire’s four noble houses. Few would risk challenging them outright.

”It’s the Ling Family, from the Qing Dynasty,” Lin Fan replied in a low voice.
