Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”First-Sigil Sigil Master!”

Sensing the powerful spiritual energy inside his Mud Pill Palace, Lin Langtian slapped his palm against the bed and leapt into the air. With a mere thought, he summoned a golden mirror from his mouth, which floated beneath him like a disk, lifting his body until he was suspended in midair!

Flying on the mirror!

With his core sigil fully formed, Lin Langtian found he could manipulate spiritual energy alone to support him. Carefully controlling the Golden Spirit Mirror as his flight platform, he practiced gliding around the room, becoming increasingly comfortable with both the technique and his newfound command over spiritual energy.

Finally, with a thought, the mirror returned to a golden light and sank back into his mouth as he gracefully landed on the floor.

”Impressive... but it does drain spiritual power quite a bit,” he murmured, a little disappointed even as he admired the technique.

If he could continue strengthening his spiritual power, he might someday fly effortlessly on it alone, like the legendary masters he had heard about. But it was only a fleeting regret. After all, he had just become a sigil master and knew he could refine his abilities with time.

He checked the state of his Mud Pill Palace, where the core spirit sigil was floating. It was still faint and shadowy, needing regular reinforcement to reach its full potential.

”First sigil,” he said with a satisfied smile, knowing he was now officially a First-Sigil Sigil Master. Lin Langtian was less interested in creating enchanted armor or weapons; instead, he wanted to explore the full potential of spiritual power. In the profound realms of the Heavenly Mystery Continent, spiritual power could rival Yuan Power, enabling a practitioner to reshape landscapes with a mere thought.

Moreover, there was the mixed power of spiritual and Yuan energy—the primal energy—far stronger than any single force alone. But spiritual power required an innate aptitude that few possessed, which was why even most talented warriors in the Great Yan Empire focused solely on Yuan Power.

Yet, ever since bonding with Spirit Aunt’s bloodline, Lin Langtian felt his own aptitude surging, enabling him to advance in both spiritual and Yuan power. Observing the dark-swirl sigil in his mind, he couldn’t help but think about the Devouring Ancestral Sigil, the most mysterious of the Eight Ancestral Sigils. This artifact, first wielded by the Devouring Master, granted the power to consume and refine anything, even other Ancestral Sigils. In the original timeline, it was through the Devouring Sigil that Lin Dong embarked on his path of greatness, eventually devouring other sigils to achieve unparalleled martial mastery.

”Though Lin Dong may be the reincarnation of the Sigil Ancestor, I’ll still claim the Devouring Sigil for myself if I get the chance!” he resolved, his gaze firm.

Lin Langtian spent the next few days refining his spiritual skills, understanding that spiritual power, unlike Yuan Power, demanded precise control and study. He remained secluded, but on the third day, an urgent knock broke his concentration.

”Brother Langtian, something’s happened!”

Recognizing Lin Ke’er’s voice, he opened his eyes and quickly got to his feet, moving to open the door. Outside, he found Ke’er standing with Lin Tao, the steward of the Lin Clan’s imperial residence.

”What happened?” he asked, noticing the worry on their faces. Given the Lin Clan’s status, he couldn’t imagine anyone would dare to cause them trouble here in the imperial capital.

Seeing Lin Langtian, Ke’er breathed a sigh of relief, her tension easing slightly as she explained, ”Brother Langtian, it’s Lin Ya. She’s in trouble.”

”Lin Ya?” he echoed, frowning as he recalled Lin Ya, a talented young woman in the clan who had traveled with him to the capital. ”What happened?”

”Because it’s her first time in the imperial city, Lin Ya’s been out exploring the bustling North District,” Ke’er began. ”Things were fine until this morning when a gang of men in yellow surrounded her. Their leader even harassed her in public. When we warned them we were from the Lin Clan, they scoffed, claiming we were impersonators. Lin Chen got angry and tried to stand up to them, but the gang leader wouldn’t listen and attacked, injuring him and the others.”

”Lin Chen was injured?” Lin Langtian’s face darkened. Anyone daring to harm the Lin Clan’s people clearly had no regard for the clan’s reputation. ”Who were these people?” he asked, his tone sharp.

”They called themselves the Xuan Tiger Gang,” Lin Tao replied.
