Chapter 737: Chapter 285: Talent Enhancement (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

“Can I only go to the Imperial City?” Lord Reine furrowed his brow.

“Not necessarily. Perhaps you could try seeking Archbishop Mingster to see if he could help dispel the mark through a prayer ceremony,”

“Don’t worry too much about it, Lord Reine. I sense a wild, restless power in this mark.”

“The effect of this mark generally makes you increasingly irritable, and eventually, you completely lose yourself.”

“However, due to the significant loss of strength in your opponent, the intensity of the mark isn’t very high—more a subtle, gradually transformative influence. It will take a few months, maybe even half a year, to slowly alter your temperament.”

Lord Reine nodded in understanding.

What a sinister mark.

This type of mark, more stealthy than the typical curses that impair physical abilities, was much harder to guard against.

If he didn’t have the system pane, he wouldn’t even know he had been affected.

But, with a few months to spare, there wasn’t a need to hurry.

“You are indeed a fortunate young man,” Prince Meinya said, looking at the warhammer in Reine’s hand.

“That weapon in your hands must be the Title Holy Artifact then.”

“Title Holy Artifact?” Lord Reine asked, puzzled.

He merely thought the weapon was extraordinary but didn’t know exactly how significant it was.

“Yes, the blue and white square warhammer. Its design is quite unique. Perhaps you could try looking up information with the Monsoon and Ocean Goddess’ Church,” Prince Meinya nodded and said.

“Lord Reine, you look to be under twenty—truly an exceptional young man. To have begun grasping the glow of Will at your age is exceedingly rare even in the entire Empire.”

“Perhaps you could consider joining the Royal Griffin Guard.”

“If you are interested, you could take Tasa’s scale and go to Imperial City to meet General Clifford,” Prince Meinya said, taking out a Red Dragon Scale.

Lord Reine caught the floating Red Dragon Scale but stiffened slightly before saying, “Thank you, Prince Meinya.”

“Well, since there’s nothing more to handle here, I need to return to the frontline,” Prince Meinya nodded at everyone, then employed the Floating Technique to slowly ascend onto the red dragon’s back.

The giant dragon then spread its vast muscle-wings and surged skyward.

Soon, its massive form began to reflect light, much like transparent glass, becoming sporadically visible and invisible.

The next second, it vanished abruptly from midair.

“This is the effect of the Invisibility Technique. There are more Dragon Knights in the Imperial City, but to prevent the massive dragons from disturbing the civilians, and to keep potential enemies from knowing too much about the whereabouts of the Imperial Dragon Knights…”

“…every Dragon Knight conceals their own traces and those of their dragons,” Lady Creya explained to Lord Reine.

Viscount Philke, who was beside her, nodded at Lord Reine and said with a smile, “Lady Creya is well-informed indeed.”

Olena, on the other hand, looked at Lord Reine with concern in her eyes.

She wasn’t worried about the mark Lord Reine had received, because Prince Meinya had just made clear that it was manageable.

Even though Prince Meinya himself couldn’t immediately remove it, both the Imperial Guardians and Archbishop Mingster had the capability to help.

What Olena worried about was Prince Meinya’s attempt to recruit Lord Reine.

She knew that the Sword Bearers Branch in Mingster had barely managed to nurture Lord Reine, a top-level talent even on an imperial scale, and they could lose him.

This would undoubtedly be a great disappointment for Admiral Edward.

No, she had to report this immediately and recommend that her superiors max out the remuneration and reward terms.

“Lord Reine, you wouldn’t consider joining the Royal Griffin Guard, would you?” Olena stepped forward, sounding slightly anxious as she spoke.

“Hm? Lady Olena, is there something wrong with the Royal Griffin Guard?” Reine, still focused on the Red Dragon Scale, couldn’t help but question her concern.

“Well, uh…” Olena intended to say ‘of course it’s not good’, but noticing Viscount Philke, a Griffin Knight beside her, she was at a loss for words.

At this moment, Lord Reine’s thoughts weren’t on whether to join the Royal Griffin Guard.

Because just as he touched the Red Dragon Scale, he received a system notification:

[Ding! Host has touched a giant dragon scale, activating a special advanced job transfer—Dragon Knight (Epic)!]

[Preconditions for transferring to Dragon Knight (Epic): 1. Contract any giant dragon; 2. Beast Rider Lv 5 or higher; ???…. Current conditions not met! Transfer to Dragon Knight (Epic) failed!]

…

At that time, Langgeler and Flay emerged from the tunnel, their faces smeared with dust, looking quite disheveled.

The guards appeared somewhat disheartened as well.

“Lord Reine, I am truly sorry. We severely injured Freeman, but the enemy used powerful witchcraft to collapse the tunnel, so for the time being, we had no good options…” Langgeler blushed slightly.

As a captain of the gold-level Sword Bearers, he had assured victory before pursuing the enemy, but the result was that the enemy escaped.

“It’s fine, Captain Langgeler. You’ve all worked hard; take some rest,” Lord Reine said unconcernedly.

When the enemy rushed into the tunnel earlier, Lord Reine felt it was unlikely they’d catch him.

The special terrain inside the tunnel, once collapsed, would need a terrestrial wizard to clear, otherwise, it would take days to clear, and by then, the person would be long gone.
