Chapter 712: Chapter 279: Confrontation (2-in-1 Mega Chapter)

He hadn’t expected this Lord Rein to be so troublesome!

Previously, whether it was the internal support from his own church or the Black Snake messages from the Secret Snake Sect’s Holdan, the comprehensive assessment indicated that Rein had some kind of physical talent, was adept at close combat, and was also a rare metal-based Wizard.

But now, not only is he good at close combat, judging from the power of the sound wave-based secret technique just now, it seems his long-range combat is also formidable.

Furthermore, there’s the effect of extracting souls; he didn’t know if it was some kind of witchcraft that the opponent wielded or if there was something odd about the hammer in his hand?

The four Black Flame Guardians were all comparable to a Great Knight, yet they hadn’t quite fathomed the depths of their opponent.

But all in all, this was becoming a bit troublesome.

Of course, it was only troublesome.

Because his combat power had already exceeded that of a typical Peak Knight and an ordinary Wizard, and he was just a small step away from becoming a titled Knight.

Titled Knights also had another name, that is, Legendary fighters.

That is to say, Raksul could be called a quasi-Legendary!

Moreover, while he was proficient in the typical shadow-based witchcraft such as Weakening Spell and Slow Technique, he was also specialized in the niche blood control witchcraft like Boiling Blood Magic and Bloodsucking Magic.

Although this category of witchcraft belonged to the broader shadow category, very few people specialized in it.

That means, any enemy who wants to get close for hand-to-hand combat would be at a significant disadvantage, not only affected by spells like Weakening Spell and Slow Technique but also disrupted by the blood-based witchcraft during the fight.

So, this was also why Raksul, despite seeing how strong Rein’s combat power was, still felt he could handle the opponent.

…

Meanwhile, Rein glanced at the Skull Warhammer in his hand and silently muttered, “Four soul fragments…”

Just after killing that first Black Flame Guardian, Rein quickly glanced at his attribute panel and saw that his Strength was 46 (+4). Indeed, as he had anticipated, the increment gained from killing different enemies varied.

To know, when he killed Holdan, it was a boost of +5.

Now, with these four soul fragments, Rein had received a total of +16 Strength enhancement.

This made Rein feel full of power at that moment, feeling restless until he swung the hammer again.

…

In the main building of the villa, Flay excitedly said to the team captain Langgeler next to him, “Captain, do you think we can annihilate the enemies right here?”

“Annihilate them?” Flay’s words took Langgeler by surprise!

When Langgeler first saw the enemies appear, his only thought was how to hold off their assault for a bit longer.

And… once they could no longer hold back…

Which route to take to lead the team and Count Habs away swiftly.

But now, he was already considering the possibility of annihilating the enemy?

That was quite a leap!

Langgeler looked at the excited Flay, thought for a moment, and decided it would be better not to dampen the young man’s fighting spirit, saying,

“That will depend on Lord Rein’s performance.”

“Captain, aren’t we going to rush out to give Lord Rein a hand?” Flay said eagerly.

Because Rein’s recent move had not only looked cool but indeed had greatly boosted morale!

“It’s not that we’re not helping, but we’re more useful staying here.”

“Think about it, why wouldn’t the one controlling the Earth Snake just destroy the villa outright?” interjected Alex at this point.

“Do they want to capture Count Habs alive?”

“Not exactly, have you seen Count Habs’ injuries? They wish him dead more than anything else.” Alex shook his head and explained.

“I see, so they want to rescue Holdan?” Flay’s eyes lit up as he said.

“That’s right. Controlling the Earth Snake is the Great Priest Ganon of the Secret Snake Sect, who naturally prioritizes rescuing Holdan, a fellow Sect member. That’s most likely the situation,” Alex revealed.

This was also why Rein had asked him to keep this information a secret, to force the enemy into a dilemma!

“Correct, Alex’s analysis is spot on,” Langgeler nodded in agreement.

As everyone was discussing, the situation on the field changed once again.

The Secret Snake Sect’s Great Priest Ganon smiled faintly and said, “Lord Raksul, do you need my help to resolve this Rein for your church?”

“Thank you, Lord Ganon, but I think I can handle it. Besides, you should go check on Lord Holdan to ensure he’s unharmed.”

“After rescuing Lord Holdan, there would be no more need for this mansion. At that point, I’ll trouble you to use the Earth Snake to destroy it,” Raksul said.

Executing four Black Flame Guardians in front of him, Raksul knew if he couldn’t retrieve the situation now and instead asked for assistance from the Secret Snake Sect, never mind how Ganon might view it;

Even his own subordinates would become suspicious, diminishing his authority!

That naturally was something Raksul couldn’t tolerate.

“Of course, then I will go check on Holdan now.” Ganon nodded and took out something, looked at it, then curved around Rein and headed towards one side of the villa’s main building.

Just as Rein was about to intercept the Secret Snake Sect’s Great Priest Ganon, suddenly, Raksul in front of him took a step forward.

In an instant, a powerful aura locked onto Rein.

This made Rein’s gaze sharpen as he focused his attention on Raksul.

It was the second time Rein encountered such a palpable scrutinizing gaze; the first time was when he faced the ‘Sea Tide Piercer’ Ruljatz.
