Chapter 483: Chapter 221: Storm Crow (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

Trevo shook his head with a wry smile, “Lord Reine, at that time, I was merely a senior knight. Although my archery wasn’t bad, I hadn’t even passed the preliminary round.”

“Preliminary round?”

“Eh? Lord Reine, have you not looked into it thoroughly?” This time, it was Trevo’s turn to be surprised.

However, he quickly smiled and said, “Well, with your strength, you need not worry about the preliminary round. For you, the main exam is what’s critical.”

“This… if it’s convenient, Lord Trevo, could you perhaps talk about this preliminary round and main exam?”

Upon hearing Lord Reine ask this, Trevo seemed to realize something. He looked at Reine with an extremely surprised expression, nodded, and said, “Of course.”

“The Sword Bearer organization’s assessment is divided into the preliminary round and the main exam. After passing the preliminary round, one officially becomes a Sword Bearer, considered a rare talent in the empire. However, only those who pass the main exam receive significant nurturing from the empire, the elites among elites.”

“Put it this way, Lord Reine, you can consider those in the preliminary round as ordinary team members, while those who pass the main exam are of captain-level. After the corresponding intensive training, those who pass the main exam can select members from the preliminary round to form a team.”

“Regarding the teams, as Lord Reine might have heard, the Sword Bearers also use a team mode to execute missions. The captain not only has the right to allocate the team’s spoils but also has a range of other priorities.”

“By the way, the pass rate for the main exam is extremely low, about one-tenth of the preliminary round.”

Reine nodded.

It seemed that he needed to improve his strength as much as possible before participating in the Sword Bearer’s assessment.

…

For two consecutive days, Reine had been practicing archery with Trevo.

He was now trying to hit a gold coin from a hundred meters away.

Through these days of practice, Reine’s Blood Fury Archery had also made great strides, just recently advancing to Lv5!

And Reine, his understanding of prediction was growing more profound by the moment. Suddenly, he seemed to have pierced through a certain ‘paper window.’

At that moment, the system notification appeared:

[Congratulations! You have experienced an epiphany, unlocking a long-range Combat Skill additional effect: Precise Aim Lv1 (Passive)]

[Precise Aim Lv1 (Passive) effects: You have a preliminary judgment on the movement trajectory of your enemies and a basic understanding of the weapons in their hands. You can precisely control the impact point of each strike, slightly reducing the chances of your opponent dodging your attacks.]

(Note: Precise Aim is an additional effect of long-range Combat Skills, which will be automatically unlocked under the right conditions.)

A long-range effect, huh?

Quickly, Reine saw a small line of text below the ‘Blood Fury Archery’ icon on the Weapon Master (Legendary) profession panel:

Blood Fury Archery Lv5 (112/2000), with added effect ‘Precise Aim Lv1’.

(Note: To unlock Precise Aim Lv2 in Blood Fury Archery, the following conditions must be met: Blood Fury Archery Lv7 or higher; Strength 16 points, Agility 20 points, Constitution 18 points or more.)

…

—————–

A few kilometers from Meister County Fishing Port Town, on the coast.

Two individuals slowly walked ashore from the sea, the leader a gaunt man in leather armor, with two daggers emitting a bloody glow hanging on either side of his waist. It was Wexman, whom Nehru had requested.

Directly behind him, a step away, was a statuesque woman dressed in a black robe.

The two emerged from the water, completely dry, without a trace of moisture.

If someone had been swimming in the sea just now, they would have seen that the two were previously enveloped in bubbles under the surface of the water.

“Zenina, check the defensive strength of Fishing Port Town, and try to locate that Reine. I think, barring any accidents, he should be either in the administration office or patrolling the main streets,” Wexman said, turning to his robed follower.

In fact, among the entire Leviathan Team, Wexman had the fewest followers, directly related to his combat style.

His only companion was this maid—a relatively rare Grade 3 Shadow Wizard Apprentice specializing in Raven Manipulation Arts, Shadow Curses, and so forth.

Basically, once this female Wizard Apprentice named Zenina identified the target, Wexman was set to make his move.

“At your command, sir,” she said.

Zenina then quietly began chanting a spell. As the energy fluctuated and radiated, soon a significant number of unusually large ravens gathered around them. These ravens were almost indistinguishable from ordinary ravens.

Except that their size was at least twice that of regular ravens.

These were special ravens, Storm Ravens, adept at moving in groups. Once amassed in sufficient numbers, they dared to attack predators and were even capable of tracking and locating tasks when dispersed.

Soon, hundreds of Storm Ravens soared into the sky, heading towards Fishing Port Town a few kilometers away.

…

Inside Fishing Port Town.

Suddenly, a series of ‘caw-caw’ sounds came from the horizon.

Many residents couldn’t help but look up, only to see a flock of dark ravens flying overhead.

Quickly, the ravens dispersed, seemingly searching for something.

At the administration office entrance, two guards were chatting idly.

Suddenly, one guard pointed towards a rooftop and said, “Eh, Jeff, did you see that big black bird? Looks like a raven, but it seems much larger than usual.”

“Indeed, it must be a raven, but such large ravens are indeed rare.”

“Eh, there’s another one here.”

“And over there too.”

“This…”

Both guards exchanged glances, seeing a hint of concern in each other’s eyes. Something seemed… off!
