Chapter 456: Chapter 215 Communication (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

When Reine first saw Baron, he knew the other must be a Great Knight.

The opponent’s muscles were knotted, his stride rhythmic, and his breathing steady and powerful. Facing him felt like confronting an imminent volcanic eruption, filled with danger and that burgeoning Strength.

Essentially, Reine was quite certain that Captain Baron’s Strength even surpassed that of Wollard.

The other had to be at least a senior Great Knight, no, very likely a Peak Knight.

However, Reine was still somewhat surprised at the moment.

Because he had originally thought that the captain of the navy’s special department, the Dragonfish Squad, would most likely be a formal Wizard, but he did not expect him to still be a Great Knight.

Could it be that formal Wizards were really so few?

At least up to this point, he had not encountered one.

Or was there some other reason?

“Captain Baron, this is the Governor of Fishing Port Town, Baron Reine,” Major Mary introduced, “Baron Reine, this is Captain Baron of the navy’s ‘Dragonfish Squad’.”

“Captain Baron, hello,” Reine said, bowing slightly.

At that moment, Captain Baron’s voice, rough as grinding rocks, responded, “Baron Reine, hello.”

Captain Baron’s piercing tiger-like eyes surveyed Reine up and down, then nodded and said:

“Baron Reine, it seems the previous intelligence was inaccurate, your Strength is not that of a Peak Knight, but you have already stepped into the realm of a Great Knight.”

As soon as Captain Baron’s words fell, the gazes around Reine heated significantly.

Especially the other five members of the Dragonfish Squad, who began sizing Reine up non-stop.

“So he’s a Great Knight!”

“No wonder Wollard died at his hands.”

“I thought Baron Reine was merely a Peak Knight before.”

“Now, it seems he possesses master-level swordsmanship and the Strength of a Great Knight, along with a third-level Wizard Apprentice assisting by his side, making the killing of the already wounded Wollard quite rational.”

The several teammates whispered among themselves for a moment, all displaying a look of sudden realization.

The Reiman brothers, however, were very surprised by what Captain Baron had said.

Because they were quite certain that just a few days ago, when Lord Reine had sparred with them, although they were defeated swiftly, they believed that Lord Reine had not yet reached the level of a Great Knight.

Could it be that Lord Reine had suddenly made a breakthrough in these last few days? The Reiman brothers looked puzzled.

The same question lingered in Major Mary’s mind, though she quickly realized something.

Because she remembered that when they were about to depart from Meist County City, Reine left the mansion carrying a wooden box that contained the ‘beast essence’.

At that time she had this doubt, why did Reine need to bring that to Fishing Port Town if he was to take office? It seemed unlikely he was stepping into Great Knight.

But now it seemed, she had underestimated Reine.

Just in these last few days, Reine had quietly broken through to Great Knight, truly deserving the top rank in this imperial assessment.

Facing Captain Baron’s affirmative tone, Reine did not deny it, but smiled and said, “I just happened to have some insights these past few days.”

Upon hearing such a statement from Reine, Captain Baron couldn’t help but laugh.

Stepping into Great Knight, as if one could simply have some insights, it’s nothing but the natural result of rigorous training!

“Baron Reine, it’s exceptional that you could reach this level of Strength at such an age, indeed a rare talent in the empire. It’s a pity that, just now, I heard from Colonel Mary you declined the invitation from the Imperial South Sea Fleet.”

“However, if I were you, I would also strive to join the ‘Sword Bearers’ organization. After all, the ‘Sword Bearers’ are stronger than the ‘Wave Riders,’ covering a wider range.”

“Wave Riders?”

Reine looked thoughtful, hearing this name for the first time.

“Yes, the ‘Wave Riders,’ a special department of the Imperial Navy.” At this, Major Mary, smiling, explained.

“I see,” Reine nodded.

This organization must focus majorly on the security of the imperial waters.

Captain Baron continued, “Baron Reine, we must thank you for your help, allowing us to complete our mission ahead of schedule.”

For them, regardless of who killed Wollard, the mission was considered accomplished.

Reine nodded, then proactively asked, “Captain Baron, do you need to take Wollard’s body back with you?”

Considering the support from the Dragonfish Squad that had swiftly arrived, Reine was quite appreciative, thus he didn’t skimp on doing them a favor.

Baron laughed heartily, waved his hand, and said, “Since Wollard is already dead, his mere body holds no significant value to us.”

“However, Baron Reine, you could claim a reward from the Imperial Navy for this.”

“By the way, if you find any items on him that might impact the security of the imperial waters, then I’d trouble you, Baron Reine, to contact us promptly, or you could reach out to Colonel Mary.”

“Alright, Captain Baron, as a baron conferred by the empire, it is indeed my duty,” Reine nodded, naturally willing to cooperate.

The spoils from Wollard, including his pouch and some potions on his person, had just been delivered to his room by the Reiman brothers, though he had not yet had the chance to check them.
