The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Mr. Yancey was always unclear about what his grandson was usually busy with, but he was quite at ease with Amadeus Yancey. Especially after the last time when the Yancey Family’s shipment was hijacked, and Amadeus Yancey showed a close connection with the Yandor Sect in Inderia, Mr. Yancey asked even less about his affairs.

At this moment, he didn’t ask much either, just reminded him to take good care of Nathalie Quinlan before hanging up the phone.

The main reason Amadeus Yancey made this call was to ask him to keep an eye on other Zachmann Family members to prevent Hansel Kingsley, who was as crazy as a mad dog, from targeting other Zachmann Family members if he found out that this time he couldn’t get his truck to hit Stanley Zachmann...

If something happened to Mr. Zachmann or Audrick Zachmann, he feared Nathalie Quinlan would be worried.

After handling this, Amadeus Yancey looked down and played with his phone, finding the girl’s profile picture on WhatsApp, and after a moment’s thought, sent over a message.

A certain café in the city center of Inderia.

Nathalie Quinlan sat outside an open-air café. The weather in November was very cold, and Inderia had equally poor weather.

She wore light clothes, with a sweater over her shoulders, and a white thick-knit scarf wrapped around her neck. Nathalie Quinlan had pulled up her sweater’s hood, and beneath the Duckbill Cap, her face was strikingly beautiful.

In front of her was a cup of hot cocoa, still steaming, but nothing else. She hadn’t ordered any tea or snacks.

She seemed to be waiting for someone, sitting with crossed legs, continuously looking at her phone.

During this time, Harvey Cadorette had sent her a message asking if she was indeed not going to the research institute in the afternoon, stating that Orson Saban came to the laboratory and didn’t find her, inquiring others about her whereabouts, and that Leony Davidson took the chance to say some bad things about her to Orson.

Harvey Cadorette didn’t specify what exactly Leony Davidson said, only mentioned that Orson wasn’t very happy, advising her to return to the laboratory in the afternoon if there were no important matters.

Nathalie Quinlan replied briefly with two words—[Busy].

Just as when she left at noon, her demeanor was unruly, with an uncontainable wildness in her bones.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t read the subsequent messages Harvey Cadorette sent.

She waited until she received Amadeus Yancey’s question about whether she would come back for dinner in the evening, and the chilliness in her eyes slightly dissipated.

Nathalie Quinlan was looking down, holding her phone with both hands, and replying to messages.

The person she had been waiting for finally arrived belatedly.

”M-Miss, sorry for the wait.”

Upon hearing the voice, Nathalie Quinlan temporarily stopped replying to Amadeus Yancey and turned off her phone, placing it aside before looking up.

She only saw James Lawrence, looking travel-worn, pull out a chair opposite her and sit down, beaming as he called a waiter to order himself a cup of coffee.

Seeing that Nathalie Quinlan only ordered a drink without the delicate cakes girls love, he silently ordered two of the café’s popular afternoon tea pastries.

After the waiter left.

James Lawrence could not contain his excitement, looking at the girl sitting across from him: ”Miss, what made you think of calling me over? I thought...”

He thought that since Nathalie Quinlan broke off with the Kingsleys Family last time, she wouldn’t likely contact him again.

James Lawrence couldn’t have imagined that the person he couldn’t get through to before would take the initiative to call him out this time.

Who knew, before he could finish his words, the girl picked up the hot cocoa on the table, took a sip, and put it down, saying blandly, ”You guys touched my dad?”

”...”

James Lawrence, initially quite cheerful and chattering away, went suddenly silent on hearing this, looking at her in bewilderment, seemingly unable to understand the meaning of her words.
