Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 386: Chapter 209: Saint 3: War (Part 2)

”No, she just wants to go back... to make some people shut up at certain times.” Baiyi affirmed confidently.

Luoning thought for a moment, pointing at the surrounding numb and bewildered civilians, and asked, ”Then, boss brother, why do a lot of people in my dream seem to not want to see them smile?”

”Because when they smile, many others can’t smile, like the one building the railway; he’d go bankrupt.” Baiyi patiently explained.

”If you’re interested, you could ask your master....”

He switched the topic: ”But why is it that in the City Lord’s Mansion, we always see Aileen’s master, but not yours?”

”Master went out, said there’s some opportunity, and has been gone for quite a while.” Luoning missed her master somewhat, after all, her master was very kind to her, and Luoning was grateful.

Baiyi was thoughtful: ”Didn’t you have a premonition about your master?”

”I did, she’ll probably return when it gets hot.” Luoning nodded earnestly.

Baiyi asked, ”So, how about we go back?”

”Okay, I’ll listen to the boss brother.”

The war in the border city grew increasingly intense, and players in the other three border cities had already gone mad with killing, while each city’s army was ready to take the battlefield at any time.

Only Dongwu City was still under construction, and it grew eerily quieter.

It’s been four months since the last player war, with other cities constantly engulfed in flames of war, while Dongwu City remained peaceful.

However, for the world of transcendents, four months was a very short time.

After Diane left, Baiyi also started crafting miniature machines; he needed to continue strengthening himself.

Under Baiyi’s orders, the Ministry of Finance frantically purchased solar energy and various peculiar materials, inflating prices of these materials.

Such enormous expenditure sparked much discussion, but when a new trend comes online, the old one quickly gets overshadowed. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

This included Dongwu City’s construction issues, which seemed insignificant compared to the escalating wars in other cities.

However, the news had its upsides and downsides; peace indeed allowed Dongwu City’s development to accelerate, but the downside was the decreasing number of players there.

Most players preferred the wars.

By the time May came, only about 400,000 players remained, compared to nearly a million at its peak, a decrease of 60%.

With the help of so many players and Dongwu City’s transcendents, the outer city’s construction exceeded 20%, and to completely transform such a vast city, it would take until at least the downstream of the year 1539.

Baiyi didn’t mind, but Sabo couldn’t wait any longer.

He needed many resources, and even with Dongwu City’s 10% tax revenue having doubled with the network, it still couldn’t match his initial plundering income.

”My friend, I first built schools, and now the outer city has more than fifty schools, as well as various low-tier material factories, mines, and factories outside. I feel we can start our plan.”

Baiyi finished making a gold-devouring insect and asked with a smile, ”Are we going to war?”

Sabo replied with a bitter face, ”My clone tells me that because of the rapid decline in Dongwu City’s marvels, those Ancient Divine Realms plan to wait....”

”But my friend, they have all united, and in recent months I’ve plundered three Abyss Lords of mutated zones, and there’s pressure on resources.”

Baiyi was somewhat helpless: ”But even if the reform begins, it’s all about investment at the start, with no income, right?”

”But at least it’s started....” Sabo shrugged. ”Just constructing, I don’t know when it’ll end....”

”Then how about this, let your clone help me find a space filled with space-time stones, and once found, you’ll get 10% of the stones, how about it?” Baiyi thought and asked.

”Space-time stones?” Sabo’s eyes widened. ”How many are there?”

”Not too sure, it’s said to be some relic of the War of the New Gods, and the quantity shouldn’t be less than tens of millions.” Baiyi contemplated. ”However, it’s quite hard to find; I only know the general direction, but not in what form it appears.”

”That’s enough!” Sabo suddenly became excited. ”My friend, quickly tell me the location, you truly save me from dire straits!”

”In a place called the Peninsula Desert, towards the southeast, about fifty thousand kilometers away, very far.”

”My friend, goodbye, I’ll wait for my good news.”

Before Baiyi finished, Sabo had already vanished, clearly anxious.

Baiyi glanced at the two apprentices nearby; their progress over these months was immense, especially Moon Side, almost reaching Silver Middle Tier.

But Moon Side was looking quite unrecognizable now, with its mechanicalization reaching 60%.

Limbs and parts of the torso were fully mechanical, and its self-developed AI had started growing. Perhaps once his brain also mechanized, his strength could progress even faster.

Without paying attention, Baiyi continued manufacturing gold-devouring insects.

[You have created gold-devouring insect ×1, Experience Value +1.]

[You leveled up, reaching Level 63.]

[Saint 3: War.]

Baiyi’s hand stopped, glancing at the sky; it was the end of May.

Half a year of silence seemed finally about to end.

War....

”Go report to the Military Equipment Bureau, prepare to initiate war.”

Baiyi spoke, striding quickly outside, knowing the mission prompt would arrive within ten days.
