Chapter 385: Chapter 209: Saint 3: War

This time, Diane came with Metheus. Metheus is getting old, and achieving Legendary is almost impossible for him now, so he just accompanies Diane on her aimless wanderings.

Currently, the Di Feng Family basically revolves around these two siblings.

Diane’s growth has been faster than anyone expected. When she acquired the Undead Body, she was just over Level 30, and now, within just a year, she has reached Level 58.

This only goes to show that when a Necromancer is not short of resources, they truly deserve to be the top-tier profession.

After all, that is a Divine Gifted Body, entirely comparable to a born Necromancer’s.

This time, Baiyi really enjoyed his birthday, considering that the Dawn People generally do not celebrate birthdays, or even have many festivals, as everyone is more focused on strengthening themselves rather than pursuing spiritual joy.

It was Baiyi who taught Diane to celebrate birthdays. In his memories, every time it was Diane’s birthday, Baiyi would find a reason to surprise her, although the surprise was paid with Diane’s money.

After all, at that time, Baiyi had no money, did he?

Even though a large portion of Diane’s money got embezzled with every birthday, the young lady harvested joy, and he received his wage; both were quite satisfied.

While practicing Memory Ability, Baiyi recovered nearly all of his memories and discovered something rather perplexing—a revelation that he perhaps crossed over even earlier than he had imagined.

Possibly twenty years ago. A child’s mind couldn’t bear the memory of a twenty-year-old adult, so the memory was temporarily sealed.

When his brain was finally able to handle the memory, a memory awakening occurred. However, the sudden impact of the memories washed away part of the original memories belonging to him, resulting in something resembling amnesia.

But this can also explain why he could grasp the written language and knowledge in the memories within just half a year....

Those were more than just one set of new written languages and entirely new systems of knowledge.

The construction in the Outer City District was accelerating, and online speculations were mounting. Various guesses implying either malice or kindness all pointed towards Dongwu City.

Baiyi, however, ignored their intentions, as he had been waiting for something.

Waiting for the arrival of the third trial, also for the meetings from the Federation.

”What are they doing here?”

Diane curiously looked at the construction work in the Outer City District and couldn’t help but ask.

”A new world!”

The response came not from Baiyi, but from Luoning, whose mood had been exceptionally good these past two days.

Even as a child, she had questions—why were the people outside living so bitterly, while those inside lived in such prosperity?

When her mother died, she even somewhat feared the Federation and wanted to hide from it because she only saw malice towards them from the Federation, without any hint of kindness.

Once she found some stability with Baiyi, she even asked if the environment in the Outer City District could be changed.

Luoning was someone who typically tried not to trouble Baiyi unless necessary, but she still brought it up. One could surmise that this was something close to an obsession for her.

So, when the Outer City District began large-scale construction, the world she once dreamed of appeared in her dreams.

”A new world?” Diane was slightly surprised as she gazed at Luoning, whose eyes were incredibly bright, and she fell into contemplation.

”Yes, someday, the faces of people here will all show smiles,” Luoning said, suddenly thinking of something: ”Except for the goblins and dwarves!”

This time, it was Baiyi’s turn to be a bit surprised: ”Why?”

”Uh...” Luoning was caught off guard and, after thinking for a moment, said, ”I don’t know, but in my dream, they were all begging, or just lying at home, without any smiles.”

She thought of something and quickly added: ”But not all; goblins and dwarves with human bloodlines are still smiling happily.”

In Baiyi’s eyes appeared a contemplative look; it seems that he and Sabo had both never considered racial characteristics.

If these two races had to be categorized, they could be classified as the Dark Race, but they naturally fear the strong, which is why they abide by laws under an orderly governance.

But none of this matters; goblins and dwarves only make up 20% of Dongwu City’s population, and Sabo was selective about the races he brought in from outside.

This small population’s inaction doesn’t influence the bigger picture.

”What are you going to do?”

Diane frowned and asked, ”Why do I have this ominous feeling?”

Baiyi knew she would ask, but there was nothing that couldn’t be said; a thought crossed his mind, and Diane’s phone emitted a few notification sounds.

She picked up her phone to see it filled with a dense amount of information.

[Grassroots Reform Plan.]

This was a plan written by AI based on some ideas of Baiyi and Sabo’s reasonable expansion.

Diane: ....

She quickly scrolled through her phone, then suddenly turned off the screen and stared wide-eyed at Baiyi: ”This is illegal....”

”If I insist on doing it, would you support me?” Baiyi asked, his face bearing a calm smile.

Diane fell silent, lowered her head, and her eyes were filled with thought: ”How long until you implement these things?”

Baiyi thought for a moment: ”The moment war breaks out...”

”But it might be a bit earlier; the legions will give a heads-up first, and I won’t stop any soldiers who want to leave.”

Diane nodded, gripped her phone, and turned to leave: ”I’m going back now; I need to think this over....”

Baiyi paused but didn’t stop her. He gently patted Luoning’s slightly confused head and asked with a smile, ”Do you still want to walk around, Luoning?”

”Uh, is Sister Diane angry?” Luoning asked with some concern.
