Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1737: Chapter 1737: Reversing Fate, Crossing Reincarnation to Save Her

”Where did this portrait come from?” After a while, Han Yan regained her composure from the shock and asked Sikong Qinglan.

”It was left by my master’s master,” Sikong Qinglan replied.

”Your master’s master?” Han Yan was somewhat puzzled.

”My master’s master, his name is Hua Guanyu!” Sikong Qinglan said solemnly.

”Ah!” Han Yan gasped lightly.

She had long heard from Ye Yi’an that the Huayu Temple had a long history, once producing many genius priests, and Huayue’s father, Hua Guanyu, was one of them. It was also because of him that Huayu Temple declined, yet she had not expected Sikong Qinglan to have such a connection with him.

”You’ve heard of my master’s master too?” Seeing the surprised look on Han Yan’s face, Sikong Qinglan asked curiously.

”I heard from Lord Sacrificial Officer that it was because of him that Lord Divine was thunderously enraged with Huayu Temple,” Han Yan certainly wasn’t going to tell him that Hua Guanyu’s descendants were her followers.

”I see, Lord Sacrificial Officer has been in seclusion for years and might not know Lord Divine’s ban. My master’s master’s name is a temple taboo, no one is allowed to mention it. You didn’t know, so it’s forgivable, but be sure not to mention it in front of outsiders in the future,” Sikong Qinglan realized, then reminded.

”I understand,” Han Yan nodded. It seems that Hua Guanyu’s betrayal back then truly infuriated the Divine Lord, to the point where even his name became forbidden.

”Before Master disappeared, he secluded himself in Huayu Temple for ten years. This portrait was painted by him during his seclusion. After he exited, he gave the portrait to Master, and on his deathbed, Master entrusted it to me.

Master also left a will, saying the reason for Master leaving was for the person in the portrait. Moreover, he said the Divine Continent, and even the entire Holy Continent, would face a cataclysm, countless lives would be lost, and even the entire Continent could be destroyed in an instant. Only the person in the portrait could turn the tide and save the beings, possibly allowing the people of the Divine Continent to live peacefully again as they did a million years ago.

Master also said that this person would face a calamity of reincarnation. To save her, Master also took away a sacred treasure from the temple, which purportedly could alter fate and transcend reincarnation. It was precisely because of this that Lord Divine was enraged. By the way, Master also once mentioned that besides him, there should be one other person in the world who could see through the Heavenly Secret. If found, he could help save the person in the portrait,” Sikong Qinglan said slowly, gazing at Han Yan.

Han Yan’s mind was a tumultuous sea, and her hand subconsciously gripped the Heavenly Destiny Star Plate hanging on her chest.

When she was reborn, this Heavenly Destiny Star Plate appeared by her side, but she didn’t know where it came from. She only guessed that her rebirth might be related to it.

Sikong Qinglan’s words also confirmed her suspicions. Altering fate and transcending reincarnation undoubtedly referred to this Heavenly Destiny Star Plate; it turned out to be the temple’s sacred treasure. It turned out that Hua Guanyu endured great hardships to go to the Holy Court Continent, and there was such a hidden story behind it.

As for the other person Hua Guanyu mentioned who could see through the Heavenly Secret, it must be Lu Guantian. However, how did he find Lu Guantian, and how did he die at the Holy Master’s hands? Han Yan couldn’t deduce the details.

Thinking of this, Han Yan couldn’t help but think of Huayue. It turned out her father went to the Holy Court Continent for her, inviting disaster upon himself. Thinking of Huayue who had fallen into the Void, a sense of guilt welled up in her heart, and she made up her mind to quickly restore her strength and save them from the Void.

”Is the person in the portrait you?” Sikong Qinglan asked after a long time.

Despite witnessing the numerous astonishing aspects of Han Yan, he had nearly concluded that she was the person in the portrait, yet he couldn’t be entirely sure without her confirmation.

Han Yan looked into Sikong Qinglan’s eyes. How much did he really know about Hua Guanyu’s whereabouts? If he knew Hua Guanyu fled to the Holy Court Continent, confirming his speculation would reveal her secret of coming from the Holy Court.

Sikong Qinglan also looked directly into Han Yan’s eyes, so clear and devoid of any impurities.

”Yes.” Han Yan finally nodded, calm and composed.

Sikong Qinglan beamed with a smile, his expression becoming extraordinarily relaxed.

”I don’t know where you come from, nor do I know your past, but I believe Master’s words won’t be wrong, so I will do my utmost to help you, to guard this Continent,” Sikong Qinglan said, suddenly placing his hand on his chest and kneeling on one knee before Han Yan.

It was said that this was also the highest form of etiquette among priests.

”Lord Sikong, what are you doing, please get up, get up,” Han Yan hastily helped Sikong Qinglan back up. Seeing his expression, though he wasn’t clear on the truth of Hua Guanyu’s disappearance, he seemed to have guessed some part and yet held no animosity, instead offering a solemn salute, which relieved Han Yan, albeit leaving her somewhat at a loss.

”My lady, this is my Master’s dying wish and his final admonition. No matter what Master did, it was all for the sake of the billions of people on the Divine Continent. Perhaps the elderly are no longer of this world, but I, Sikong Qinglan, will never forget his last wish,” Sikong Qinglan said resolutely, completing the salute before standing back up.

Han Yan’s heart was fiercely moved. Similar words had been spoken by Bo Xuanji before his death. Although the Holy Court Continent had different ideologies and cultivation methods, viewing each other as heretical foes, the mindset towards the common people was the same, both in the Holy Court and the temple. They all took the peace of beings as their responsibility, even the Holy Master was the same, only too obssesive.

”I promise you, I will spare no effort to protect this Continent, to protect the billions of people.” Han Yan said with a determined face.

The catastrophe of the Holy Continent originated because of her. Guarding this Continent, protecting the billions of innocent people, was her responsibility to begin with.

Until she returned to her room, Han Yan still felt the weight on her shoulders, some things were easier said than done. Now, not even having become a true priest yet, thinking about restoring her strength to that of a Great Sword Master Peak, who knows how long that would take. Claiming to protect the continent was just empty words without action, right?

”Han Yan, you’re back?” Ling Baobao’s voice came from outside.

”What’s the matter?” Seeing Ling Baobao’s worried expression, Han Yan asked.

”Is there anything to eat? I’m starving,” Ling Baobao said pitifully.

Han Yan was speechless. Even if his power was suppressed, he still had a vastly different physique from ordinary people after years of cultivation. How could he be so hungry after skipping just one meal? She remembered he had gnawed on a huge piece of jerky at noon. This foodie!
