Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1719: Chapter 1719: Piglet Digging for Treasure

”Alright, let’s keep looking then,” Ye Yi’an guessed what Han Yan was thinking and nodded in agreement.

After taking the elixir refined by Ye Yi’an, the group rested for a while. Once their injuries were not a big issue anymore, they continued walking up the rugged mountain path.

The higher they climbed, the more powerful the mountain winds became. After thousands of years of wind and frost erosion, the massive stones presented peculiar and varied shapes, giving off a strange sense of desolation.

Fortunately, both Ye Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan had strong abilities. Han Yan used the Xuanhuang Energy to barely keep the Power of Laws embedded in the harsh winds at bay, and Mu Tu, being naturally robust and having trained in Martial Arts for years, did not find it overly strenuous. As for Ling Baobao, he was an exception; neither the Divine Continent nor the Holy Court Continent’s laws could affect his cultivation strength, and it did not influence him personally.

Walking and stopping along the way and carefully searching, after several hours, they had searched both sides of the path thoroughly, but apart from Mu Tu finding a few supposedly decent-quality medicinal herbs in the rock crevices, they did not discover anything unusual.

Judging by appearances, if they wanted to make any real discovery, they would have to delve deep into the mountain and search carefully. Although Sunrise Peak was neither small nor large, if they braved the fierce mountain winds inch by inch, even Ye Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan could hardly endure it, much less estimate the time it would take.

”Forget it, we should go back down first; we can come back for a detailed search when there’s another opportunity,” Han Yan said helplessly.

After all, not yet becoming a priest, and having only trained in Priest Divine Technique, relying solely on Xuanhuang Energy against this Power of Laws, she was starting to feel fatigued over time.

”We have no choice,” Ye Yi’an said, having not harbored much hope from the beginning, nodding in response to the suggestion.

The group took a short break and prepared to return the way they came.

Just then, a small head peered out from Han Yan’s pocket.

”Liu Guang!” Han Yan exclaimed in surprise.

Having thought that the laws’ suppression would prevent the little creature from showing itself even after awakening, she was surprised it had indeed emerged. It seemed relatively unaffected by the laws, or at least not greatly. Well, it made sense; how could a prehistoric Qilin Divine Beast, the young master of the Qilin Clan, be completely restrained by these laws?

The little creature blinked its sleepy eyes, looked at Han Yan somewhat drowsily, clearly not fully awake.

”Snort, snort!” Suddenly, it opened its eyes wide, a divine light flashed in them, and then it darted off without paying any attention to Han Yan.

”What is this?” Sikong Qinglan asked in confusion, observing Liu Guang’s flashing figure.

”Uh... this is my pet,” Han Yan thought for a moment and said. Only having stayed at Mu Family Village for a few days, Ye Yi’an forgot to ask whether Temple Priests could also tame Sword Pets like Holy Court Knights, and what they were called, so she had to give a vague explanation.

”Oh, it turns out to be a sacrificial pet. Miss Mu, forgive my bluntness, if you were just an ordinary person, having such a pet wouldn’t matter, but with your Innate Divine Priest status, raising a pig as a sacrificial pet would be an embarrassment if word got out, although... this pig runs quite fast,” Sikong Qinglan advised sincerely, probably feeling that her words were a bit pride-harming, she then comfortingly praised.

”Uh...” Han Yan was speechless.

Is this a pig? This is a Qilin Divine Beast, the young master of the Qilin Clan, how could it be a pig? Do you even have any eye power... Okay, Lady Mu admitted, it wasn’t really Sikong Qinglan’s eye power issue, it was that the little creature just looked too much like a pig. If she didn’t know the details, even she couldn’t believe that chubby little piglet was the legendary Qilin Divine Beast.

No time to explain to him, it wouldn’t be believed anyway; Han Yan raised her foot and chased after the Little Auspicious Beast.

Knowing that when the Little Auspicious Beast fell asleep, unless it chose to, it wouldn’t wake even if struck by lightning, and even if it awakened, its movements were as slow as a snail. What could have made it suppress its sleepiness to open its eyes, and be fast as its name, was only one reason: it had found something delicious.

Not knowing what exactly it was, something that excited it so much it forgot to even speak human language and resumed pig-like snuffling certainly wasn’t any ordinary Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures.

Ye Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan didn’t pay much attention to the little piglet, but seeing Han Yan chase after it, were worried she might encounter danger, so they quickly followed.

Fortunately, Sunrise Peak was too barren; although the rugged rocks and perilous cliffs were prominent, there’s no dense shrubbery, allowing Han Yan to run with all her might, barely keeping pace with the Little Auspicious Beast.

Following the Little Auspicious Beast sprinting through the rocks, after several more hours, the Little Auspicious Beast finally stopped deep within the mountain of Sunrise Peak.

By now, night had long fallen, with a bright moon high in the sky, casting thousands of points of pure radiance.

Little Auspicious Beast sniffed here and there among the piles of rocks, occasionally swallowing its saliva.

”What is it looking for?” Sikong Qinglan asked curiously.

”It should be looking for something to eat,” Ling Baobao mused and replied.

Having spent some time with Han Yan, he understood Liu Guang somewhat, knowing that food was one of the few things that could excite it like this.

This creature is just a foodie. Long ago, Ling Baobao made such a judgment about the Little Auspicious Beast, but being a foodie himself, he wasn’t prejudiced; instead, he felt a special closeness.

”What can be eaten here?” Sikong Qinglan muttered.

Indeed, Sunrise Peak was so barren that apart from occasionally finding a few medicinal herbs with particularly strong vitality in the rock crevices, it was virtually devoid of flora, so what food could be found?

”Snort, snort!” Little Auspicious Beast suddenly squealed like a pig with excitement, rapidly digging among the pile of rocks. Mud and stones flew around as its small form quickly vanished beneath the ground.

What had this creature found? Han Yan, filled with curiosity herself, hurried forward.

After taking a few steps, the Little Auspicious Beast suddenly jumped out, leaped onto Han Yan’s shoulder, and like offering a treasure, stretched out its tiny paw and presented a fruit about the size of a chicken egg yolk in front of Han Yan.

”What’s this?” Han Yan took the fruit.

The fruit was brightly red, as crystalline as jade. The most surprising thing was that, despite it being dug out of the ground, it had neither speck of dirt on it—so clean as if it had just been washed in a spring.

Ye Yi’an and Sikong Qinglan also moved in closer, curiously examining the red fruit in Han Yan’s hand, apparently unable to identify what it was.
