Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1261: Chapter 1261: So We Are Family After All

”Since you are a disciple of Long Yan Academy, you’d better not meddle in other people’s business, otherwise, even Long Yan Academy cannot protect you.” Hearing Mu Hanyan identify herself, the leading youth felt assured.

”My junior brother has always been proper, I don’t know how he offended you, causing you to attack so ruthlessly.” The other party didn’t dwell on her identity, which was just what Mu Hanyan wanted. While she was talking casually, she was also seeking an opportunity to strike.

Last time when rescuing Fen Qianji, she had crossed swords with Wei Wenshan and knew that the Holy Court members were not to be underestimated. Any slight carelessness could lead to utter catastrophe, so she dared not underestimate the few people in front of her. After all, they were Fifth Rank Sword Masters, not much weaker than her. Without absolute certainty, Mu Hanyan would never reveal a killing intent lightly.

”Miss Jiang, it’s best not to ask too many questions.” The leading youth said with a slight arrogance.

”Su Deacon, why waste words with her? Everyone would kill such wicked demons and evil outsiders. If she dares to intervene, we shall kill her too.” Another youth said impatiently.

”With such wanton killing of innocents, how is it any different from being an evil outsider? Although the Han Family is a great evil and should be exterminated, she is not of the Han Family. She’s most likely in the dark, how can we kill indiscriminately?” Su Deacon reprimanded.

However, from his expression, it was clear he was flaunting his status in front of Mu Hanyan.

The youth dared not say much more, merely murmuring.

”What Han Family, my junior brother is named Tang Bufan.” Hearing them mention the Han Family repeatedly, Mu Hanyan realized she had misunderstood, and the matter was unrelated to Fen Qianji. His identity was not exposed, yet she became even more puzzled. What connection did Tang Bufan have with the Han Family?

”In any case, don’t ask further questions about this matter. Just stay quietly to the side, and after we’ve exterminated these wicked remnants, we can chat at leisure.” Su Deacon gestured ostentatiously, looking at Mu Hanyan with a glint of wickedness in his eyes.

”Bufan, go, quickly!” Just then, a woman stormed to the door and shouted aloud.

A young girl followed closely behind her, gripping a longsword, dotted with blood.

Aunt Xiu! Yunyun! Seeing the woman and the girl behind her, Mu Hanyan was slightly startled, then found enlightenment.

When she first arrived at this small courtyard, Mu Hanyan already had suspicions, but soon was ambushed and didn’t have time to think further. Now, seeing Aunt Xiu and Han Yunyun in person, Mu Hanyan no longer needed to ponder; her earlier speculations were confirmed. Many past doubts, in both previous and current lifetimes, were now solved.

Previously, she never understood why Tang Bufan was unwaveringly devoted to her. Although she treated him well and did not wrong him, she didn’t truly see him as a friend, merely a follower accompanying her. It completely did not merit him repaying with his life, but he did so anyway, without hesitation or regret.

Until now, Mu Hanyan realized he was Aunt Xiu’s son. To support him, Aunt Xiu sold herself to the Mu Family. Whether it was the family head Mu Beichen couple, or the young master Mu Rui’an couple, they treated her generously. With the Tang Family’s poverty, if not for their assistance, Tang Bufan would never have had the opportunity to cultivate.

Although Aunt Xiu didn’t want her identity to affect Tang Bufan and always refrained from letting him know, eventually he would have found out. To repay her kindness, he stayed by her side, and to repay the favor, he sacrificed himself at a crucial moment to save her, even though he didn’t save Mu Hanyan, costing him his own life.

Understanding the whole story, Mu Hanyan’s heart warmed. Although Tang Bufan did everything to repay the kindness of her grandfather and parents, in this world, there are many who don’t repay favors, let alone repay kindness with enmity. Tang Bufan was willing to sacrifice his life for her, still moving Mu Hanyan deeply.

Seeing Aunt Xiu and Han Yunyun suddenly appearing at the door, Su Deacon’s group also paused in surprise.

”Wench, dare to attack dishonorably, I’ll kill you.” At that moment, two youths angrily pursued them.

One covered his lower body, blood gushing through fingers, while the other seemed uninjured below, but walked with an exceptionally odd gait, gripping behind him with one hand.

Knowing well that the situation was dire, Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but want to laugh, feeling both amused and helpless.

There’s no need to wonder, these two were wounded by Han Yunyun’s sword. Seeing the bizarre injuries, it’s evident the unique skill of Zirong was used. Though Han Yunyun always showed deep disdain for Zirong’s vulgarity, she had no qualms about learning his unique skills.

”Wretch, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you.” An injured youth drew his longsword, slashing at Yunyun.

Although Han Yunyun successfully ambushed using the unique skill learned from Zirong, she had cultivated for a short time. Even though Mu Hanyan taught her the cultivation technique and generously bought elixirs for meridian clearing and marrow washing, to date she was only a Fifth Rank Swordsman. While these youths weren’t as strong as Su Deacon’s group, they were Ninth Rank Swordsmen, and in direct confrontation, Han Yunyun had no chance of winning.

With a crisp clang, Han Yunyun’s sword was struck away, and she fell heavily to the ground. The youth, however, wouldn’t let her go, stabbing towards her heart meridian.

”Stop!” Mu Hanyan shouted crisply.

”Stop!” Su Deacon also commanded deeply.

Though the youth hated Han Yunyun, upon hearing Su Deacon’s order, his wrist paused, the longsword halted over Han Yunyun’s heart meridian.

Han Yunyun seemed slightly injured, her face pale, yet her eyes showed no fear, only the usual stubborn courage.

”Sir, this little wench is also a Han Family remnant.” The youth complained unwillingly.

”Nonsense, need you remind me? Failing to guard a mere powerless civilian girl and getting injured by a little brat, useless!” Su Deacon glared sharply.

The youth blushed deeply, lowering his head, with even more hatred in his gaze towards Han Yunyun.

”Tang Bufan, your mother and sister are in our hands. Will you die willingly, or should we do it ourselves?” Su Deacon turned to Tang Bufan.

Mu Hanyan’s heart sank. Initially, she was waiting for the chance to kill Su Deacon’s group in a thunderous strike, but hadn’t expected Aunt Xiu and her daughter to be captured by them, thus, could not strike rashly.

”Mother? Sister?” At this moment, Tang Bufan seemed unaware of his lineage, or was unsure, looking confusedly at Aunt Xiu and Han Yunyun.

”Don’t believe him, run quickly!” Aunt Xiu, in tears, shouted to Tang Bufan.
