Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 936: Chapter 936: The Auspicious Beast Unleashes Divine Power, Scheming in Silence

Due to the great consumption of the divine sense (spiritual power) of a Beast Tamer, they typically have only one powerful Exotic Beast as a Sword Pet. If they wish to switch to a more powerful Sword Spirit Pet, they usually must abandon the former one.

Over the years, Nian An Yao’s Beast Taming Technique and Sword Dao Cultivation have been constantly improving, and surely his Sword Pet has been frequently replaced as well.

So, the world says Nian An Yao’s Beast Taming Technique is unparalleled, but few know what his current Sword Spirit Pet actually is.

Until now, they learned that his Sword Spirit Pet turned out to be a Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast!

Indeed, that robust figure covered in Green Armor, those fierce and grim curved tusks, and the iconic flowing dragon whiskers are exactly the legendary Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast.

Armed with that green Hard Armor as strong as fine steel, the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast possesses an unbreakable strong defense. Though its massive body appears somewhat clumsy, its running speed is definitely not slow, and the impact force from its rapid charge is extremely terrifying.

But this isn’t the most terrifying part—the most terrifying part is that the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast possesses the Innate Ability of thunderous shock; when its iron hooves stomp on the ground, it can create a powerful vibration akin to the might of thunder. Those whose strength is slightly weaker may suffer internal injury from the shock, or even die instantly. Even those with strong resistance might have their Mental State disturbed; at best, they might experience a brief stupor, and at worst, fall into an unconscious state, ready to be slaughtered.

This is where the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast’s name comes from.

Boasting stronger attack and defense capabilities than the average Exotic Beast, coupled with such a formidable Innate Ability, the combat power of the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast is readily apparent. It has long been regarded as a King-level entity among Exotic Beasts.

Among Exotic Beasts, those that are ferocious and bloodthirsty are not uncommon, but few are recognized as King-level Exotic Beasts. The Griffin once acquired by Mu Hanyan is one such Sky King-level Exotic Beast, while the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast is recognized as one of the Land King-level Exotic Beasts.

Such Exotic Beasts often dominate in rarely seen jungles and wilderness areas, making them difficult for the average cultivator to even catch a glimpse of. Who would have thought that Nian An Yao not only captured one but successfully tamed it as well.

No wonder he’s reputed as the strongest Beast Tamer since Xia Youchen, as the Beast Taming Sword Saint. With a Sixth-level Sword Master cultivation level and such a formidable Sword Pet, it’s like adding wings to a tiger.

Everyone wore a face of shock and awe.

If they had thought earlier that Nian An Yao was just putting on airs to be struck by lightning, they no longer thought so. With such strength and such a Sword Pet, he indeed has the qualifications to show off. As for being smacked away by Mu Hanyan earlier—pure coincidence, he was merely careless.

Seeing the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast galloping with thunderous rumbles, carrying Nian An Yao as it charged toward Mu Hanyan, Hua Yue and others gripped their sword handles tightly, cold sweat staining their palms.

Meanwhile, the Fifth Prince and others were again invigorated, looking at Mu Hanyan with a touch of pity in their eyes. To repel a Sixth-level Sword Master with a single slap, Mu Hanyan certainly had impressive combat power, but unfortunately, he wasn’t up against an ordinary Sixth-level Sword Master, but a Sixth-level Sword Master who was also a Beast Taming Master!

Seeing Nian An Yao’s Sword Pet, Mu Hanyan’s expression also turned grave. It seemed there was no escaping the need for Cangxuan Cloud Silk and Shadow Shifting this time.

Just as Hua Yue was anxiously ready to act, and as the Fifth Prince and others were gloating and were about to laugh out loud, while Mu Hanyan himself was prepared to invoke the Shadow Shifting Barrier, a jaw-dropping event occurred once more.

”Mu Hanyan, don’t forget I am a Beast Taming Master, this is my true strength! You sought death yourself, so don’t complain about me!” Nian An Yao roared furiously.

Soon after his words fell, the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast, as if it were a steel fortress with its four strong iron hooves, suddenly came to a screeching halt, standing motionlessly. Its eyes, filled with a murderous aura, turned empty and bewildered, as if it had suddenly fallen asleep, with a string of drool, probably dreaming of something delicious, running from its mouth.

And riding on its back, Nian An Yao also showed a dazed face, falling into another sleepwalking state with his mouth wide open, still in the shape of the previous roar, drool dripping downward.

”What is going on?” Seeing the drooling man and beast, everyone around was utterly stunned, as if they had begun to sleepwalk too: Is he not done showing off, and is continuing?

Mu Hanyan was also inexplicably surprised, even though this old guy hadn’t had enough of showing off, hadn’t he had enough abuse? The blood on his head hadn’t dried yet, and he was sleepwalking again.

How could this situation arise? If it had happened occasionally, it could have been considered a coincidence, but counting the fight against Dan Tai Xuan last time, this made three times. No, it’s definitely not a coincidence.

Mu Hanyan subconsciously lowered her head, casting a glance at the Star Plate on her chest. Apart from that mysterious Star Plate, she couldn’t think of any other possibility.

But to her disappointment, the Star Plate was no different, appearing exactly as it always had.

What really was going on? As Mu Hanyan’s peripheral vision swept across, she suddenly found that the Little Auspicious Beast had somehow crawled onto her chest again, lying down comfortably in a suitable spot. Of course, that’s not the point; what mattered was that the little creature was emitting a dream-like glow, gathering into mysterious Light and Shadow Runes, quietly shooting them outward.

As her gaze fixed on those mysterious runes, Mu Hanyan’s spirit suddenly halted, entering a brief moment of distraction as if stepping into a dream.

”Sleep Barrier!” Mu Hanyan suddenly realized this was no coincidence, but a barrier summoned by the Little Auspicious Beast.

It seemed that the half piece of Beast Soul Relic last time wasn’t eaten in vain. Although the little creature’s appearance and size hadn’t changed much, it had grown a bit and awakened such a powerful Innate Ability.

No wonder this little guy constantly seemed groggy, sleeping as if it couldn’t wake up. It turned out its Innate Ability was the Sleep Barrier, which left Mu Hanyan both amused and exasperated.

Recalling how people had speculated about what sort of Divine Beast the Little Auspicious Beast was, she joked it might be the Sleep God because it slept so much. Now it seemed it might actually be the Sleep God, with a related Innate Ability.

This lengthy dialogue was in fact just quick thoughts flying through Mu Hanyan’s mind.

Understanding the real reason for everything in front of her, Mu Hanyan didn’t waste any more spiritual power. Seizing the opportunity while Nian An Yao and the Dragon Whisker Thunder Beast were trapped in the Sleep Barrier, she soared up and slapped once more.

This time, the Little Auspicious Beast seemed more skilled at using its Innate Ability, and Nian An Yao slept even more soundly. He only suddenly woke up when Mu Hanyan’s slap landed firmly on his chest.

In a hurry, he circulated his Qi to cover his chest, but was still a beat too late.

”Boom!” With a loud noise, Nian An Yao was once again slapped and sent flying, crashing into a distant stone wall and causing a cloud of dust to rise.

”Oh, that looks painful.” Zhirong, who was watching, shivered in cooperation, wearing a sympathetic yet unconvincing expression.

”Daydreaming during a fight, what kind of strange habit is that? So bizarre,” Jiang Yuzhe said with a face full of disdain.

With a solemn expression, Hua Yue remarked, ”I don’t think he wanted to daydream, rather...” Rather, it was the young master who forcibly made him dream, right?

Ye Lanfeng, on the other hand, was looking at Mu Hanyan’s chest, seriously pondering another question. Is that Little Auspicious Beast male or female?
