Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 921: Chapter 921: News About Zirong’s Fiancée

Taking advantage of Mu Cheng’s fervent excitement, Han Yan stretched out his hand and directly stuffed the elixir into his mouth.

Whether it was the effect of the elixir, or his intense admiration for Ye Lanfeng, Mu Cheng’s complexion improved considerably, and his breathing became much more stable.

Han Yan gathered his divine sense to probe and found that his internal organs were shaken, and his meridians were somewhat damaged, but the injuries weren’t too severe, so there was no urgent need for medical treatment.

The urgent matter at hand was to first find out about Mu Nan’s situation.

”What happened to Mu Nan?” Han Yan asked again.

”I accompanied Mu Nan to the Capital, and while passing through Lin’an County, we took the opportunity to investigate the whereabouts of Yu Qingwan. We didn’t hold much hope, yet we unexpectedly encountered her on an ancient road. Seeing her being held captive in a carriage, Mu Nan and I quietly followed behind, intending to rescue her when the others weren’t paying attention.

However, the opponents were too vigilant and powerful. As soon as we made a move, the few guards we brought were killed on the spot. Seeing the unfavorable situation, Mu Nan and I had no choice but to flee. But we barely escaped two miles before they caught up with us. After just three exchanges, I was seriously injured.

Just as it seemed we were doomed, fortunately, someone came to our rescue at the critical moment, allowing us to escape separately. I managed to flee to the Capital, but Mu Nan’s skills are inferior to mine. I’m not sure if he managed to escape.” Mu Cheng said worriedly.

”Who saved you?” Han Yan asked.

”The person only said he was from the Capital City Mu Family but didn’t have time to mention his name. However, there’s a sword trace on his forehead, so it shouldn’t be hard to inquire about his background.” Mu Cheng said.

”He was referring to Mu Sha, a death soldier nurtured by our Mu Family.” At this moment, Mu Beichen’s voice came from the doorway.

”Greetings, Family Head.” The guard and the servants carrying the stretcher quickly saluted.

”You may all leave.” Mu Beichen waved them off, not wishing too many people to know about certain matters.

”Greetings, Family Head.” Mu Cheng recognized the arriving Zong Family Patriarch and, not daring to be negligent, tried to get up and salute, but after struggling, he fell back heavily.

”Just lie down.” Mu Beichen patted Mu Cheng’s shoulder approvingly and said, ”I’ve long heard that the grandson of the Third Elder of Heishi City Mu Family has exceptional talent and is obsessed with martial arts. Today, seeing you proves it true.”

Hearing the Family Head’s praise, Mu Cheng’s face turned red with excitement.

”I just received news from Mu Sha, saying he has saved Mu Nan from the Heishi City Mu Family and is devising a way to avoid enemies and return to the Capital. I didn’t expect you to return ahead of him.” Mu Beichen said.

”So, Mu Nan is alright?” Hearing this, Han Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”We can only say he’s temporarily safe. According to the news from Mu Sha, the opponent is too strong, and even he is seriously injured, making it hard to escape their pursuit. But don’t worry too much; I have already sent Uncle Yun to assist, so there should be no issue.” Mu Beichen replied.

Han Yan’s heart sank slightly. She had no doubts about Uncle Yun’s skills, but she was unsure if he could arrive in time, as distant help cannot extinguish a nearby fire.

”Mu Sha has been personally taught by Uncle Yun since childhood, and I’ve also given him plenty of guidance. Although he’s still young and not very powerful, his steadfast nature and adaptability make him a standout among the young death soldiers of the Mu Family. As long as he has a breath left in him, Mu Nan will not be in mortal danger.” Observing Han Yan’s concern, Mu Beichen reassured her.

Seeing her grandfather’s confident demeanor, Han Yan’s spirits relaxed once again.

The death soldiers of various aristocratic families are trained from a young age, undergoing the most brutal training. Their loyalty to the family and personal skills, as well as crisis response abilities, exceed many of the Zong Family’s Disciples. With such high praise for Mu Sha from her grandfather, it was certain that his abilities were exceptional, and with his protection, Mu Nan would be out of danger for the time being.

”Grandfather, who are those people?” Han Yan asked seriously.

Whether Mu Nan was safe or not, anyone daring to make a move against her people would not be let off.

”Mu Sha didn’t mention that; perhaps it hasn’t been discovered yet. However, since Uncle Yun is personally involved, I think we’ll have results soon.” Mu Beichen said thoughtfully.

”Han Yan, Zirong, according to the news from Mu Sha, not only is Mu Nan temporarily out of mortal danger, but Miss Yu is also safe. With Uncle Yun intervening, you can be at ease.” After a pause, Mu Beichen continued.

”Thank you, Family Head. Even a thousand deaths wouldn’t repay the Family Head’s kindness.” Tears glistened in Zirong’s eyes as she spoke with gratitude.

In both noble families and ordinary powerful families, the Family Head often has an old servant at his side. Such individuals would be cultivated during the reign of the previous Family Head, serving as a shadow guard for the next Family Head.

These people are exceptionally skilled and loyal, unmatched in their devotion to the Family Head. Other than the commands of the Family Head, not even the Supreme Elder can direct them, making their standing within the clan extraordinary. They hold no official position, yet no one dares to offend them lightly.

Offending them is certainly no lighter than offending the Family Head.

In the past, Zhao Yuanji had an old butler named Uncle Fu, and Uncle Yun was similar. However, with the Mu Family’s current strength and reputation far surpassing the Zhao Family’s, Uncle Yun’s skills and status were even more unattainable.

For the matter concerning him, Mu Beichen even sent Uncle Yun, which was an immense favor. It’s no wonder Zirong was so moved.

”Your matters are Han Yan’s matters, and her matters are mine, isn’t that so? You don’t need to say such things in the future.” Mu Beichen waved his hand dismissively, speaking with a bold spirit.

Han Yan looked at her grandfather, clearly understanding that Mu Beichen was helping her win over people’s hearts. Despite feeling that with her friendship with Zirong, it wasn’t necessary to win hearts, she was nonetheless grateful for her grandfather’s efforts.

”Alright, you all should support Mu Cheng to rest. I’ll have a doctor come by shortly to examine him. Leave the matters of Miss Yu to me, and continue with your tasks. With Uncle Yun intervening, there’s no need for concern.” Mu Beichen warned Han Yan and Zirong not to act recklessly, then left the courtyard.

Not long after, two doctors hurriedly arrived to examine Mu Cheng’s injuries.

Although Mu Cheng’s injuries were severe, his cultivation foundation was solidly built, and after taking the elixir, there was no major problem.

Han Yan initially wanted him to rest well, but ever since encountering Ye Lanfeng, this fellow seemed as enthusiastic as if injected with adrenaline, unwilling to waste a single moment, eagerly chatting with his ”master” with endless enthusiasm.

Ye Lanfeng didn’t want to entertain him, turning away expressionlessly. However, like stubborn glue, this guy clung on persistently, boasting exaggerated tales from all over, leaving Han Yan and the others with headaches. They had never seen him so talkative before.
