Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 864: Chapter 864: First Encounter with This Kind of “Forcible Sale”

The meals at Yingfeng Building have always been charged by the hundreds of taels. By the end of a meal, the cheapest would cost thousands of taels. The small change of dozens of taels isn’t even heard of.

When Mu Hanyan and the others came out of the Sky Number Elegant Seat after a meal, it would have cost tens of thousands of taels, yet Liu Ruhui reported the small amount of 123 taels, the meaning couldn’t be clearer.

Mu Hanyan felt a bit helpless; she’s heard a lot about oppressive buying and selling, but this was the first time she encountered such forceful sales tactics.

But Liu Ruhui had already reached this point, it would seem ungracious if she still refused.

”Do you have some silver on you? Lend me a bit,” Mu Hanyan looked at the silver note in her hand, and said awkwardly to Huayue and the others.

There was no choice; she had dozens or even over a hundred thousand worth of silver notes, but not a bit of spare cash of over a hundred taels in silver.

Being too rich can be inconvenient sometimes.

Accepting the silver taels handed over by Huayue, Mu Hanyan handed over to Liu Ruhui no more and no less, and the group slowly left the Yingfeng Building.

Liu Ruhui watched them leave the restaurant like sending off a plague god, finally letting out a long sigh of relief.

At this moment, they heard Han Yunyun’s innocent voice: ”Turns out the food at Yingfeng Building isn’t that expensive. I used to think a meal would cost thousands of taels.”

Following Mu Hanyan for a long time, the young girl’s knowledge had grown a lot, and her concept of money had changed as well. At least she no longer considered a hundred or so taels of silver as a serious matter.

”Indeed, it’s not expensive,” Huayue said, holding back laughter. How could Han Yunyun not know what’s going on when they surely did?

”Then can we come often in the future? The food here is really delicious,” Han Yunyun said expectantly.

”Sure, you can come whenever you like, even every day if you want,” Mu Hanyan generously replied.

”Great!” Han Yunyun cheered.

Hearing Han Yunyun’s cheer, Liu Ruhui almost stumbled and fainted to the ground.

He had charged the meal just now, so if they come back, he could naturally charge that again. The problem is, the actual cost of Mu Hanyan’s meal just now wasn’t 123 taels, but three hundred and thirty-three thousand taels. Good heavens, if they came every day, Yingfeng Building might as well close down early.

Of course, Mu Hanyan wouldn’t come every day, but it was stimulating to playfully pique the owner of Yingfeng Building. After all, he tricked himself into hiring such a foolish servant and even more foolish crowd of guards.

”What exactly happened just now, tell me, tell me what exactly happened?” Liu Ruhui grabbed Li Yiba’s collar and shouted angrily. He only heard a general idea but didn’t know the details.

”Owner, I didn’t know that was Mu Hanyan. He only told me some country bumpkins offended the Fifth Young Master, so I went up to help,” Li Yiba, realizing the deep trouble he’d caused, explained with a sweat-covered brow. As he spoke, he pointed at the servant.

He was practically filled with hatred for this gossiping fellow. If not for him, how would he have caused such a big mess? If he had known it was the renowned Mu Hanyan, even given ten sets of dog guts, um no, even if his whole body was hung with dog guts, he wouldn’t dare to assist the Fifth Prince. What kind of person is Mu Hanyan? Even children recognize that name with terror at night!
