Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 641: 641 wants to take advantage of someone’s precarious situation

Seeing Mo Yanhong act so recklessly, even daring to severely injure Young Master Wu, the crowd around him fell silent, too afraid to utter a word.

”Mu Hanyan, how long do you plan to hide like a coward? If you don’t come out now, your little servant is going to be completely ruined,” Mo Yanhong bellowed at Mu Hanyan’s door with a fierce face, finding a bit of pride and satisfaction as a scion of a wealthy family in the Capital, emboldened by their timidity.

Mu Hanyan did not respond, and the courtyard was eerily quiet.

”His subordinate is hurt so badly, why is Mu Hanyan still hiding and not showing his face?” The onlooking crowd was puzzled.

”He’s betrayed those who were utterly devoted to him, risking their lives for him, and yet he doesn’t even have the courage to show his face,” someone felt indignant on Mu Cheng’s behalf.

”Following such a master, they’ve really hit an all-time low,” others expressed deep disdain for Mu Hanyan.

One could imagine that if Mu Hanyan appeared now, she would be drowned in the spit of the crowd.

”Could this guy have sensed the danger and run away?” A thought crossed Mo Yanhong’s mind. He didn’t possess Dai Songling’s strength, so he couldn’t sense Mu Hanyan’s presence.

Mu Hanyan was the main target; if she had run away, even if he killed Mu Cheng and Wu Qiuyun, it wouldn’t soothe his anger or restore his reputation. Thinking this, Mo Yanhong no longer cared about Mu Cheng, kicked him viciously to the ground, and then quickly rushed over and kicked down the door.

Inside the room, Mu Hanyan was still sitting cross-legged, faint mist steaming around her, her face still wet with sweat and showing signs of pain. Her clothes were soaked through with sweat, and the mist was the vapor rising from it.

Seeing Mu Hanyan in this state, the onlookers realized they had wronged her. It turned out she was at a critical juncture in her cultivation, and the situation seemed extremely dangerous. She was likely teetering on the edge of losing control, which was why she couldn’t attend to the safety of Mu Cheng and Wu Qiuyun.

They also understood why Mu Cheng and Wu Qiuyun were willing to fight to their last breath and not retreat a step, even challenging Mo Yanhong while gravely injured—they were buying time for Mu Hanyan.

This Mu Hanyan, wasn’t she supposed to be some talentless playboy, notorious and despised? How could her followers be so loyal? It seemed that rumors couldn’t always be trusted; perhaps someone intentionally slandered her. The onlookers reached a consensus in their thoughts, and their sympathies began to lean towards Mu Hanyan’s side.

After all, Mu Hanyan’s deeds were merely rumors, while Mo Yanhong’s brutality was witnessed firsthand. The truth couldn’t be decided by a few sanctimonious words from Dai Songling.

”Ha ha ha ha, so you’ve lost control. I really thought you had become addicted to acting like a coward!” Seeing Mu Hanyan’s sweaty figure and the pain on her face, Mo Yanhong also thought she had demonized and laughed maliciously.

”I thought I’d have to put in some effort, but I didn’t expect you to lose control without me lifting a finger. Karma, oh karma, don’t say I’m bullying you—it’s your own bad luck, nothing to do with me. Since losing control leads to becoming useless, I might as well give you a hand, sparing you the agony of holding on,” Mo Yanhong said, laughing maniacally as he walked toward the room.

From his words, it was clear he intended to take advantage of Mu Hanyan’s moment of vulnerability.
