Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

The shopkeeper had arranged the rooms, and Han Yan and her companions, weary from their journey, had no desire to dine out anymore. The shopkeeper personally went to the restaurant to order some wine and dishes, and they enjoyed their dinner in the small backyard, finding the evening breeze quite pleasant.

”Young master, young master,” the shopkeeper hurried over while they were eating.

”What’s the matter, has Mo Yanhong come back?” Han Yan asked.

”He hasn’t returned, but I casually went out for a walk and heard that someone is inquiring about your background. It’s most likely the Mo Family’s people. Maybe you should leave quickly. If they locate you again, escaping will become difficult,” the shopkeeper said with concern.

Although he said it was a casual walk, Han Yan knew that he must be worried Mo Yanhong would not let things slide and seek revenge, which is why he went out to gather information.

Seeing the shopkeeper’s anxious and worried face, Han Yan felt warmth in her heart.

”It doesn’t matter, let him come if he wants to,” Han Yan said nonchalantly.

Mo Yanhong had just left, intimidated by Pang Dezong’s flight. Upon discovering her true background and what Ye Lanfeng had said, it was highly likely that he wouldn’t let the matter rest. These sons of noble families care most about their reputation, and revenge was almost a certainty. However, with her strength, and the addition of ”high-level lackey” Yan Yuchu, naturally, she wasn’t afraid of him. As for ”Gold Dog Legs” Ye Lanfeng, Han Yan truly did not want him to take action. If he got involved, everything would be over.

What’s more, if they left, Mo Yanhong would not find them and definitely vent his anger on the shopkeeper. Han Yan did not want to harm him.

”But, the Mo Family in the Capital, I’ve heard that they’re a formidable wealthy family. I also found out that Mo Yanhong is not only accompanied by a few people; it seems that he also has other experts with him, merely assigned to take care of tasks elsewhere for the time being. If those experts come back, escaping will be even harder,” the shopkeeper said, still somewhat worried.

While inquiring about Mo Yanhong’s movements, he had incidentally learned about Han Yan’s origin, realizing she was but a natural-born wastrel from the Mu Family in the Capital, banished to Heishi City; from childhood, notorious for being useless and a playboy, earning the title of the top playboy in Heishi.

He had seen many cases of exaggerated rumors, and being grateful for Han Yan’s kind deed, he of course did not believe the infamy of her being a playboy. But since she was not favored by her family and had been banished to a small town like Heishi City, he assumed the reputation of being a wastrel was not unfounded, which was why he was so concerned.

”In that case, I cannot leave even more,” Han Yan said resolutely.

If it were just Mo Yanhong and those few guards, he might still consider the reputation of Zhengying Academy and not be too harsh on the shopkeeper, at least leaving him a way out. But if other experts from the Mo Family were involved, Mo Yanhong would be fearless and act even more ruthlessly.

Under these circumstances, she could not leave.

Hearing Han Yan’s words, the shopkeeper realized that Han Yan’s decision to stay was for his sake.

Commoners without cultivation were like ants in the eyes of many High Order Knights, and yet, Han Yan, of such a status, was willing to risk herself for him, an ”ant”. For a moment, the shopkeeper was so moved that he was brought to tears.

...

Finding out Han Yan’s background was actually quite easy; after all, the top playboy of Heishi City had quite the renowned name.

”What, this Han Yan, is that Han Yan from Heishi City!” Mo Yanhong’s eyes widened in shock upon hearing the news brought by his guard.
