Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

While they were willing to help, they still harbored some doubts in their hearts. The medicinal herbs were indeed good, but hardly worth the fanfare and publicity. Even with their help in promoting them everywhere, it was uncertain if this would attract much attention.

”Are these medicinal herbs really worth such a fuss?” someone asked, puzzled.

”I heard that some established chambers of commerce are already displeased with the Nanmu Auction House and are planning to act against them in secret. It seems that the Nanmu Auction House is desperate to build a reputation and consolidate its foundation,” another theorized.

”It’s a good plan, but the outcome will likely disappoint them,” remarked someone who clearly didn’t foresee a positive outcome for the auction house’s initiative.

”It’s more than just disappointment; if they’re unlucky, they might even backfire and raise the alarm for others prematurely,” added someone with a strategic mindset.

”A miscalculation, indeed,” the previous speaker said pessimistically.

Mu Hanyan and the others had also heard some of the discussions outside, and their expressions varied. Mu Hanyan remained calm and composed, unaffected by the waves of concern, while Mu Nan and Housekeeper Sun were somewhat worried. Qu Shanling, however, looked as if he was enjoying the drama unfold.

”By the way, Young Master Nan, we’ve forgotten one thing—we should set a time for this bet. The three of us, as master and disciples, can’t keep lingering in Heishi City forever,” Qu Shanling suddenly remembered to mention.

”Yes, yes, my master earns hundreds of thousands of taels in the blink of an eye; we can’t keep wasting time like this,” a young disciple chimed in smoothly.

Bragging about it day after day, aren’t you tired? The cow must be tired too, thought Mu Hanyan to herself with an internal eye roll, wondering when they’d change their tune about their tirelessly flying cow.

”Don’t worry, we’ll have a result in no more than a fortnight,” Mu Hanyan said. If she wasn’t mistaken, that event should indeed take place within the next half a month.

”Alright, then we’ll wait for half a month,” Qu Shanling was indifferent, for what did half a month matter when it was about owning a five percent share of the Nanmu Auction House?

The income of a Star Divination Master, of course, wasn’t as exaggerated as his disciple boasted. The common folk trusted them the most but couldn’t afford high fees; earning too little would seem beneath their dignity. The noble families, on the other hand, had the wealth to elevate their status but might not truly believe in them.

This profession was essentially one where you could go without business for three years, only to make enough for the next three years in one go.

As for earning tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of taels every moment, oh, look... the cow is still flying in the sky.

”Young Master Nan, Young Master Nan, there’s someone outside requesting an audience,” a guard burst in excitedly as they were having tea. Because of his agitation, he knocked over a flower pot but didn’t even bother to pick it up, just rushing inside anxiously.

”Who is it?” Mu Nan inquired.

”Long Yan Academy, it’s a teacher from Long Yan Academy! It seems, it seems to be a Holy Dragon Master too!” stammered the guard.

”What!” Mu Nan and the others jumped to their feet, becoming excited as well.

Long Yan Academy was the most revered among the Four Great Academies of Anyun Country, holding an extremely exalted position, far surpassing the fourth-ranked Zhengying Academy.

Zhao Sinin, Uncle Zhao with only the strength of a Fifth Rank Swordsman, had seen his status soar within the Zhao Family simply by virtue of being a Zhengying Academy Disciple, warranting deference from even the Family Head.

If it were someone from Long Yan Academy, how esteemed must their position be? And it wasn’t just anyone who had arrived, but a teacher from Long Yan Academy, seemingly a Holy Dragon Master at that.
