Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 155: 155 I don’t want to be the one making unwelcomed advances.

Although Mu Hanyan only responded with a light smile, there was an indescribable charm in every move she made. Even her eyes sparkled differently, casting an unclear, yet compelling attraction.

”Oh, right, right, Brother Han Yan,” Mu Nan had a moment of distraction before nodding repeatedly in agreement.

Yet, he wondered secretly why, having not seen him for just one night, Brother Han Yan seemed completely different. What exactly had changed? He couldn’t quite put his finger on it but felt that Mu Hanyan was now radiant with a subdued brilliance, like a flawless piece of jade, the more one looked, the more one was drawn in.

Could it be an illusion, a subtle psychological shift after learning of his Star Divination Star identity? Mu Nan couldn’t be sure.

”By the way, did you need something?” Mu Hanyan asked with a smile.

She was well aware of her transformation. In fact, as a swordsman’s strength improved, so would their temperament. Typically, the difference was indiscernible, but having advanced from a Sixth-tier Swordsman to a Ninth Rank, the change was notable and greatly affected Mu Nan.

”We brought back lots of medicinal herbs from Longyan Mountain, didn’t we? I’m not sure how they’ve been sorted out yet. I was thinking of inviting Brother Han Yan to take a look; if things are well-organized, we might get a good price for them,” Mu Nan finally said, setting aside his confusion and speaking to Mu Hanyan.

”No need, just check on the medicinal herbs yourself. Whatever money we make from the sale will be yours,” Mu Hanyan said generously.

Because of her, Mu Nan hadn’t obtained the Dragon Blood Stone as smoothly as in his past life, and the Nanmu Auction couldn’t make a big impression. Mu Hanyan felt a twinge of guilt toward Mu Nan and naturally didn’t want to covet any money. Moreover, she had resolved to make up for it and was determined to make Nanmu Auction more famous than in the previous life! And indeed, she did, but that was a story for later.

”How can that be alright? We went to Longyan Mountain together to find these. How can I keep it all for myself? To be honest, without Brother Han Yan there, we wouldn’t even have found the place, let alone escaped the clutches of Qu Shanhai and the others. If you don’t accept your share, wouldn’t you be looking down on me?” Mu Nan said, a bit angrily.

”Alright, then I’ll go with you,” Mu Hanyan conceded, feeling awkward to refuse any further after hearing what he said.

”Great, great, let’s set off right now!” Mu Nan immediately went from irritation to joy, clearly elated.

Mu Hanyan felt a bit sentimental. This Lao Liu had a candid nature, far more sincere than most merchants, which was no wonder he achieved so much in his previous life.

Already harboring guilt and seeing Mu Nan’s genuine attitude, Mu Hanyan felt even more moved. It would be good to go and see, she thought. Apart from making it up to Mu Nan in the future, if there was any way she could help him now, she would do her best. After all, the Nanmu Auction was just getting started; it lacked in many areas, and her strength as a Ninth Rank Swordsman should be of some use.

The two quickly set off, and as they crossed the garden, they saw an elder gazing at them with a frown on his face—the Third Elder, Mu Nan’s grandfather.

”Grandfather,” Mu Nan rushed to greet him, calling out with some trepidation.

”Third Elder,” Knowing that the Third Elder did not look favorably upon her, Mu Hanyan didn’t bother trying to ingratiate herself with him this early morning. She simply greeted him curtly.
