Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 147: 147 is really a misunderstanding

Seeing Mu Hanyan walk away, Mu Nan also prepared to pay respects to his parents.

”Wait.” The Third Elder stopped him.

”Is there anything else, Grandfather?” Mu Nan respectfully asked. Although the Third Elder’s attitude towards Han Yan made him feel embarrassed, he would never disrespect his grandfather because of it.

”Weren’t you going to gain experience? Why are you with Han Yan, were you together?” the Third Elder asked displeasedly.

”Yes, Grandson went with Brother Han Yan,” Mu Nan honestly answered.

”Why do you get involved with him? Are you tired of living?” The Third Elder, even more displeased, looked at Mu Nan with a gaze full of disappointment.

”Grandfather, actually, Brother Han Yan is not what he appears to be. I think you all have some misunderstandings about him.” Having experienced hardships together along the way, and witnessing Han Yan’s astonishing deeds firsthand, Mu Nan was extremely impressed and couldn’t help but defend him.

”Misunderstandings? What could I possibly misunderstand? Being a playboy by nature, causing trouble, are these all false? Last time he even contrived to tear Miss Zhao’s clothes. Who else but that no-good wastrel could do such a thing?” the Third Elder disdainfully said.

It was taboo to clear the name of the guilty; such an act by a prominent figure like the Young Master of the Mu Family made even him feel ashamed. Although the Fourth Miss Zhao was not exactly a decent person, nor was the Zhao Family.

”This...” Mu Nan scratched the back of his head. It seemed that tearing someone’s clothes wasn’t only done by the Big Playboy Mu. He too had accidentally done the same thing once, to the same person.

Thinking about it, Fourth Miss Zhao was indeed pitiable, things tumbling out inadvertently. Of course, she did have some assets to flaunt, her figure wasn’t much, but her skin was indeed fair. Thinking of Fourth Miss Zhao’s fair skin, Mu Nan secretly gave a thumbs up.

”What do you mean by this? If you dare to do such filthy things with him, be careful or I’ll flay you,” the Third Elder said, glaring at Mu Nan.

Mu Nan instinctively shivered and dared not daydream anymore.

”Actually, Brother Han Yan really isn’t as bad as you all say; he is also a Star Divination Master. This training experience was largely thanks to him,” Mu Nan changed the topic, defending Han Yan.

He wanted to explain all that had happened along the way, but remembering Han Yan’s warning that one should never lightly disclose the affair of the Dragon Blood Stone, he could only vaguely hint at it.

Fortunately, Han Yan needed to keep the secret of Star Illusion Thousand Machine, and his identity as a Star Divination Master served as a decent cover. Anyway, in the eyes of many, a Star Divination Master was just a deceptive god-man, so she did not prohibit Mu Nan and others from spreading it around.

”Star Divination Master, ha ha ha ha. If such a playboy wastrel could become a Star Divination Master, I suppose even a sow can climb a tree,” the Third Elder burst out laughing, mocking him.

”Grandfather, Brother Han Yan really is a Star Divination Master,” Mu Nan, unable to disclose the truth, emphasized again.

”Hmph, did he masquerade as a god-man and feed you some love potion that you speak on his behalf like this? This rascal has some tricks; first deceiving Miss Zhao of the Zhao Family and now having you completely fooled! How did I not see it before?” the Third Elder contemptuously said.

”Alright, I’ve had enough talk with you; I’m tired. I have an old friend coming, a truly exceptional hermit. In a few days, I’ll set a banquet to welcome him and cleanse him of dust. Don’t speak recklessly and shame me,” the Third Elder said, not allowing him any further chance for defense.
