Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”Having the attention of a cousin like you, Xian’er would die content. But, Xian’er really can’t reconcile herself—why should he hurt me so, when my love for him is utterly obsessive?” Fourth Miss Zhao fought back the urge to vomit as she continued to feign a pitiable demeanor.

Yet inside, she was cursing profusely, thinking you’re really as insensible as I say you are, you fool. I’m not spinning this tale for you to act all gentle and love-struck just to take advantage, but to get you to stand up for me. Do you even have any insight at all?

Feeling those hands groping blindly over her back, Fourth Miss Zhao felt another wave of nausea, truly wishing she could kick Zhao Sinin far away.

”You needn’t be sad, Xian’er. I’ll go right now and kill him to vent your anger!” Having not missed out on his advantage, Zhao Sinin, filled with a rush of passion, spoke fiercely, his hands becoming even more restless. The thought of his Goddess’s pristine purity comforted him greatly.

”That won’t do, he is, after all, the City Lord’s eldest son, and a member of the Mu Family. Killing him like that will bring great trouble,” exclaimed Fourth Miss Zhao in fright as she quickly took the opportunity to push Zhao Sinin away.

If possible, she would have loved to shred Mu Hanyan into pieces, but she knew that doing so would only bring catastrophe upon the Zhao Family.

Zhao Sinin fell silent for a moment. Although Mu Rui’an’s family had been exiled to Heishi City, offending the Mu Family was still a grave concern; it was one thing to bully Mu Hanyan but killing was not an option—it would cause serious trouble.

”In that case, I’ll find a pretext to fight him and cripple him,” said Zhao Sinin. He couldn’t just back down after such a declaration and thought about what action to take next.

”Cousin, you are really good to me.” Fourth Miss Zhao knew this was not the time for words of gratitude, but to express her thanks through actions, and thus she actively threw herself into his embrace.

Being embraced willingly by the Goddess, Zhao Sinin’s blood raced with exhilaration, overwhelmed by happiness.

One was playing along to use another’s hand for murder, while the other, driven mad by lust, bewitched by his own passions, neither took note that Mu Hanyan and his companions had slowed their pace ahead of them.

”Young Master, it seems like Fourth Miss Zhao isn’t giving up yet. Should we deal with her once more?” Zirong whispered to Mu Hanyan, his manner somewhat excited. Just recently, he had once again unleashed his dark, violent side; he was becoming increasingly addicted to this life of causing trouble following a playboy like the eldest son. He couldn’t escape the pull.

”You aren’t a match for the person at her side right now,” Mu Hanyan replied.

”You know him?” Huayue asked curiously.

”He’s called Zhao Sinin, a disciple of Zhengying Academy and a distant relative of the Zhao Family, but he hasn’t returned for many years. By now, he should... probably be at the cultivation level of a Fifth Rank Swordsman. Anyway, you can’t beat him,” said Mu Hanyan.

She didn’t have a deep impression of Zhao Sinin, recalling only that the man’s character was unsavory and he had never achieved anything significant, so she was not very clear about his true strength but guessed it probably wasn’t too far off.

”How do you know that?” both Huayue and Zirong looked puzzled. As natives of Heishi City, they knew quite a bit about the major families but had never heard of the great name Zhao Sinin. Considering Eldest Young Master Mu’s notorious playboy nature—he seemed to care nothing for except enjoying himself—how could he be aware of such a secret?

”Am I not the Eldest Young Master Mu after all? Do you really take me for a completely ignorant and reckless fool?” Seeing the evident contempt and confusion in the eyes of Zirong and the others, Mu Hanyan flew into a rage.
