Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

The baby looked so much like her that, no matter how long she stared, she couldn’t see any resemblance to him.

In the end, she really couldn’t see it and had to give up.

She slowly lay back down, making room to hold her daughter in her arms.

Her little princess, having just finished feeding, had her eyes squeezed shut. Her tiny, red lips smacked softly, and her little white face was plump and smooth.

This was her and Boss Ellsworth’s child. This was their child, and only their child.

No one could ever make her deny the fact that he was the child’s biological father!

The child’s father was named Ethan Ellsworth, and only Ethan Ellsworth.

Catherine Callahan was already a few months pregnant. To ensure she had a peaceful pregnancy, Mrs. Grant wouldn’t let her touch anything, waiting on her hand and foot every day, terrified that something might happen to her.

Catherine Callahan didn’t worry about a thing, contentedly playing the role of the Grant Family’s Young Madam.

As she watched her belly grow day by day, her mindset began to shift. The most significant reason was her last two check-ups. Based on her own medical condition, the doctor couldn’t be certain whether the child had inherited it.

This issue tugged at her nerves like a string. To find out if the baby was healthy as soon as possible, she arranged with her doctor to have another thorough examination at five months pregnant.

Before the check-up, she couldn’t find a moment’s peace.

She kept this worry locked in her heart, not daring to speak of it.

Quentin Grant hadn’t set foot in the house since the last time he left. Catherine Callahan wasn’t worried, though, because Master Grant’s eightieth birthday was approaching.

’He will definitely come back.’

The birthday was tomorrow. Mr. Grant and his two brothers had already spent the past few days decorating the house.

Many famous entrepreneurs from the business world would be attending, and even big shots from the entertainment industry had been invited.

Everyone from high society with deep ties to the Grant Family would be there.

As the eldest grandson of the Grant family, how could he not attend?

At this thought, Catherine Callahan’s heart settled slightly.

’I’ll see him tomorrow. I must dress up and make a stunning appearance before him.’

”KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.”

She snapped back to reality and looked toward the door. ”Who is it?”

”Cassandra, it’s Godmother.”

Catherine Callahan quickly got up and opened the door. Mrs. Grant walked in carrying a bowl of bird’s nest soup and said with a smile, ”Cassandra, hurry and eat this. You need to take good care of yourself. Your health isn’t the best to begin with, so I have to make sure you’re well-nourished. That way, my little grandson will be plump, healthy, and strong!”

She frowned slightly. ”Godmother, bird’s nest soup again? I’m so tired of it. Can’t we have something else for a change?”

Mrs. Grant set it on the table. ”Tell Godmother what you want to eat, and I’ll go get it for you.”

Catherine Callahan thought for a moment. ”Godmother, I’m suddenly craving your braised pig’s feet.”

”Alright, I’ll go to the supermarket to buy some now. I’ll bring them up to you as soon as they’re ready.” After saying this, Mrs. Grant hurried out the door.

Catherine Callahan sat there, completely satisfied. She picked up the bird’s nest soup, sniffed it, and began to drink it leisurely.

Just as she finished, Mrs. Grant returned.

”Godmother, I was starving, so I just went ahead and ate the bird’s nest soup. A hungry person can’t be a choosy one.”

Mrs. Grant handed her the pig’s feet she was holding. ”Here, they’re freshly made. Eat slowly, don’t burn yourself. It’s fine that you ate the soup. If you hadn’t, we would have just thrown it out anyway.”

Catherine Callahan smiled faintly. ”This looks delicious. I knew you were a great cook, Godmother.”

”Cassandra, tomorrow is Quentin’s grandfather’s eightieth birthday. A lot of people will be here. Dress up nicely. I’m going to announce your pregnancy and let everyone know that you are my future daughter-in-law.”

Catherine Callahan’s eyes lit up. ”Godmother, are you serious?”

”Of course! Why would I lie?”

Catherine Callahan was ecstatic, but her expression quickly darkened. ”But, Godmother, have you forgotten? Last time you wanted to share the good news, you only revealed a little bit, and Quentin shut down that news outlet. He’ll be unhappy.”

Mrs. Grant waved her hand dismissively. ”It doesn’t matter. It’s not up to him whether he likes it or not. I’m calling the shots. You are the top priority right now. As long as you give birth to this child safely, I’ll have you two married in no time.”

Catherine Callahan looked as if she’d been injected with a stimulant. ”Godmother, you’re just too good to me! But what if Quentin absolutely refuses?”

Mrs. Grant smiled confidently. ”Then I’ll threaten to kill myself right in front of him. If I threaten him with my own life, he’ll have to give in.”

Catherine Callahan felt this was the best news she could possibly hear.

This child was the source of all this good news.

”I’m sorry, Godmother. This must be difficult for you.”

Mrs. Grant sighed. ”It’s what I owe you. If it weren’t for my negligence, you wouldn’t have... let’s not talk about it. We still can’t get in touch with your birth parents. They’re deliberately cutting off all leads we find, probably because they still resent me.”

”Godmother, didn’t you say you contacted them last time?”

Mrs. Grant looked slightly embarrassed. ”I managed to reach your father. He seemed willing to come back, but he hung up before I could finish, and I haven’t been able to get through since.”

Catherine Callahan nodded as if in sudden understanding. ”Godmother, since they’re deliberately avoiding you, why not just let fate take its course?”

Mrs. Grant shook her head. ”I can’t be at peace until I see your parents.”

”Okay. Godmother, you should go back and get some sleep. I’m going to sleep too.”

Mrs. Grant nodded and left her room.

Catherine Callahan closed the door, her expression unreadable.

’If Mrs. Grant ever found out that the one who stopped her from contacting my ’birth parents’ was me—’

Catherine Callahan’s dazed look vanished, her eyes clearing with sharp certainty. ’She’ll never know!’

The next day was bright and sunny, with a mild temperature that was neither too hot nor too cold.

The Grant Residence began setting up for the birthday celebration.

Around ten o’clock, so many luxury cars were already parked at the entrance to the Grant Residence that they blocked the entire road.

Business figures from all sectors and prominent figures from across the country gathered together to celebrate Master Grant’s birthday.

Those abroad who couldn’t make it sent their well-wishes via video messages.

Catherine Callahan had been up since early morning. She had chosen an outfit that accentuated her pregnant belly and had on a full face of exquisite makeup. She looked vibrant and was beaming with joy.

Just as she expected, Quentin Grant had returned.

He wore a well-tailored suit, his eyes sharp and cold, his stride steady and powerful.

The moment she saw him, Catherine Callahan couldn’t take her eyes off him.

She stared straight at him.

Watching him approach, she was overcome with an inexplicable excitement. As he drew near, she mustered all her courage, opened her mouth, and said, ”Quentin, you’re back.”

Just like a shy, young wife.

He didn’t even pause, walking right past her without so much as a sideways glance.

Catherine Callahan clenched her fists, stomped her foot in frustration, and hurried after him.

”Quentin, I’m pregnant, and the baby is yours!”

Those few words instantly silenced the bustling scene.
