Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 621: Chapter 621: Real and Fake Heiress 14

”Oh, thank you, sister.”

Free clothes, might as well take them.

”Sister, can you buy me a few more pairs of shoes? My shoes are showing my toes,” Yuan Chun lowered her head and looked at her worn-out cloth shoes with her big toe sticking out, and chuckled.

Lin Jiaojiao looked disgusted and suddenly felt that accompanying Wang Yuanchun to buy clothes and shoes here was really foolish.

She pulled two one-hundred yuan notes from her bag and stuffed them into Yuan Chun’s hands, ”Here, you buy them yourself.”

Then, she left the clothing store and walked out by herself.

Yuan Chun held the two hundred yuan, flicked it with her fingers, and said to the shop owner, ”Boss, find me some simple casual clothes to try on.”

...

An hour later, dressed in a new outfit, Yuan Chun cheerfully returned to the hospital ward carrying a bag of fruit.

Lin Zhenfei was still asleep, but Wang Caihua had already woken up.

Yuan Chun exclaimed in surprise, ”Mom, you’re awake! How do you feel? Is there anywhere on your body that’s uncomfortable?”

”I... I have no strength at all,” Wang Caihua said weakly.

Yuan Chun replied with an ”oh,” saying, ”Mom, that’s because the anesthesia in your body hasn’t worn off completely; it’ll be better in a little while.”

As she spoke, Yuan Chun put down the fruit and spun around in front of Wang Caihua, saying happily, ”Mom, look, do my clothes look nice? My sister gave me money to buy them. Oh, mom, you wouldn’t believe it, these past few days in the hospital, the doctors and nurses have been looking at me with disdain, like I’m some kind of dirty thing. My sister said I embarrassed her, so she bought me these clothes and shoes.”

”But my sister doesn’t have much money either, so I only bought this set. Tomorrow, I’ll have to wear those shabby clothes again. If I embarrass you and dad, there’s nothing I can do, I’m stuck with those clothes.”

Wang Caihua was infuriated, ”Yuan Chun, how can you be so thoughtless? Our family is going through so many problems, and you’re not helping out at all. On top of that, you’re only focusing on your clothes.”

”Mom, I was wrong. Maybe I should just return these clothes I’m wearing.”

Saying this, Yuan Chun was about to change back into the tattered clothes she brought.

Those tattered clothes, she purposely brought them back and didn’t throw them away. They’re the original owner’s most cherished clothes; she has to wear them a few more times.

Wang Caihua was so angry she almost wanted to jump up and slap her own daughter a few times. ”Forget it, don’t return them; just wear them. I’m not blaming you for buying new clothes. It’s just that with so many things happening in the family, and you’re still in the mood to buy clothes. It makes me overthink, but oh well, you’re still a child and just came home. Expecting you to care so much about me, your dad, and your brother was my overestimation.”

Yuan Chun was torn, ”Mom, what do you mean, exactly? One moment you’re blaming me, the next you’re understanding. Mom, I haven’t been educated; I’m just a simple person. I can’t understand the meaning in you cultured people’s words. Mom, just make it clear.”

Wang Caihua was fuming again.

”Mom, do you want some fruit? Look, I bought bananas for you to eat. I’ve never eaten a banana in my life. Mom, let me get you one.”

Yuan Chun snapped off a banana and handed it to Wang Caihua.

Oh, dreaming of getting her to peel it; what a dream.

Yuan Chun shoved it into her hands and didn’t bother, digging into half a bunch of bananas herself, taking big bites.

When Lin Jiaojiao came back from having her fill outside, Yuan Chun was left with just one banana. Thinking of how they were both taskers and Lin Jiaojiao had given her two hundred yuan to buy clothes and shoes, she handed the last banana over, ”Sister, you eat.”

”You eat it.”

Lin Jiaojiao didn’t even glance at her. She opened the porridge she bought, sat beside Wang Caihua, and said, ”Mom, I guessed you’d be awake for sure, so I bought porridge for you. I’ll feed you.”

”Still mom’s Jiaojiao is sensible and good.”
