Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Childless Cannon Fodder Woman 7

”Your brother-in-law is really good to you,” Yuan Chun said with a look of envy. ”Unlike me, I’ve been married for half a year, and Lin Baoshan hasn’t bought me a single thing. He even...”

Yuan Chun seemed to realize she had said too much and quickly covered her mouth, laughing awkwardly.

Ms. Zhao was curious and a bit concerned, ”What about Lin Baoshan? Is he bullying you?”

”No... It’s just that he... he hasn’t cared about me. We’ve been married for half a year, and he never gives me his paycheck, he gives it all to his mom. He even asks for my money for food and drinks. When he gets home, he doesn’t do any chores... and says that men don’t do housework, that it’s all women’s work.”

”That’s nonsense! At my house, your brother-in-law grabs the chance to do the chores like fetching water, sweeping the floor, scrubbing pots, and washing dishes,” Ms. Zhao said with a dark expression, advising her, ”Yuan Chun, he’s bullying you. I’m telling you, when you get home from work, make him do the chores.”

”Cooking, laundry, sweeping the floor, just let him do it. You are his wife, it’s only right for him to do the work and take care of you.”

”If he refuses to work, you argue with him. If he’s not afraid of shame, then neither should you be. Worst case, you can move your food share to the cafeteria and eat there from now on. Don’t worry about him.”

”You’re married, and he doesn’t support his wife, yet expects his wife to support him? He’s just a freeloader.”

”How can he have the nerve?”

”Looking all proper, you’d think he’s a good guy, but turns out he’s just a freeloading jerk, and quite a pompous one at that.”

”Yuan Chun, you can’t spoil him anymore. I’m telling you, men’s bad habits are all spoiled by women. You’ve been married a short time, so you can still correct his rotten habits. If you don’t make him change, you’ll suffer in the future. You must make him change.”

Lin Baoshan had been working as a temp for more than a year. Initially, she considered giving him a performance evaluation and transitioning him to a regular employee for Yuan Chun’s sake. But now, it seems like this Lin Baoshan isn’t worth it.

For a rural guy to marry Yuan Chun, it was a blessing from his several past lives. Yet not only does he not cherish Yuan Chun, he secretly bullies her.

Is it because he sees Yuan Chun as an orphan with nobody to back her up?

Ms. Zhao pursed her lips, mentally putting Lin Baoshan on her blacklist.

Ms. Zhao was very kind, always willing to help others, though she had a tendency to gossip. Whenever she saw injustice, she liked to spread the word around.

This time, at noon, Yuan Chun deliberately lingered in the office for another 15 minutes before heading home. On her way back, she noticed many people giving her sympathetic glances.

There were even some well-known aunts who said to her, ”Yuan Chun, if you’re suffering, just tell us. Your parents are gone, but you still have us, your neighbors who watched you grow up, to back you up.”

”That’s right, Yuan Chun. We heard that Lin Baoshan doesn’t treat you well? Acts like a lord at home, not lifting a finger to do anything?”

”Yuan Chun, we also heard that he gives all his wages to his mom and doesn’t give you a cent. Yuan Chun, are you stupid? You married a husband, and he, a grown man, earns money but doesn’t support you, and instead makes you support him. Doesn’t he have any shame?”

Yuan Chun gave a bitter smile and replied, ”Lin Baoshan says it’s hard for his mom to raise him, and now that he can earn money, he wants to be filial to his parents.”

”Being filial has to have limits, right? Does he expect to live on air?”

”No air for him to live on; he’s counting on Yuan Chun to support him.”

”Tsk, a grown man relying on a woman to support him is disgraceful.”
