Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Doomed Cannon Fodder Woman 2

The original protagonist believed she had found a good mother-in-law.

So, when the protagonist was eight months pregnant and too big to do things conveniently, the mother-in-law suggested she transfer her job to her sister-in-law. Once she gave birth, the sister-in-law would return the job to her. The protagonist agreed without even thinking.

But after she gave birth, and the confinement period was over, the mother-in-law said the child was still nursing and could not be separated from the mother, suggesting she wait until the child was older before going back to work.

The protagonist also didn’t want to leave her child to work.

And so, the protagonist stayed at home to care for the child.

Lin Baoshan had two younger brothers, one was studying, and the other was earning work points at home. One day, the mother-in-law, teary-eyed, lamented about the family’s poverty, having no money to marry daughters-in-law for her sons, and needing to borrow for the youngest son’s tuition.

The kind-hearted protagonist, thinking of her mother-in-law’s kindness, wanted to repay her and handed over three hundred yuan to marry off the two brothers-in-law and pay for their education.

Afterward, the mother-in-law found various excuses to take money from the protagonist.

Until three years later, when the protagonist could no longer give a penny, the mother-in-law changed her attitude, stopped doing housework, and spent her days chatting and eating sunflower seeds with a group of elderly women. The housework all fell to the protagonist.

By this time, the protagonist was pregnant again, with a big belly, still having to serve the family’s food and drink.

Lin Baoshan did not give her any of his salary, handing it all to the mother-in-law. When the child fell ill, the protagonist had no money to buy medicine, just because she gave birth to a girl, whom the mother-in-law called a losing investment, refusing to pay for medicine.

The protagonist toiled every day, still enduring the mother-in-law’s disdain and verbal abuse, until finally realizing she had been deceived.

The protagonist clamored to get her job back.

At this point, the sister-in-law had already been engaged to a city family, who only agreed because she had a legitimate job. The mother-in-law naturally refused to let the daughter return the job to the daughter-in-law.

The protagonist made a fuss and was held down and beaten by the mother-in-law.

The protagonist had a miscarriage.

The mother-in-law locked her in a room without food or water, and didn’t take the protagonist to the hospital.

When Lin Baoshan came home from work, the mother-in-law even incited her son to beat his wife, saying women won’t behave unless beaten.

What devastated the protagonist was that Lin Baoshan listened to his mother and viciously beat her, breaking one of her legs.

The protagonist’s leg was swollen and painful, on top of suffering from the miscarriage and the beating’s injuries. She cried and begged Lin Baoshan to take her to the hospital, but Lin Baoshan beat her again. Whenever the protagonist dared to protest, Lin Baoshan and the mother-in-law would assault her.

Only then did the protagonist see the true nature of her husband and mother-in-law.

What filled the protagonist with immense hatred was when, on her deathbed, the mother-in-law forced her four-year-old daughter to wash clothes, cook, and clean. If displeased, the mother-in-law would beat her daughter, cursing her as a losing investment.

She often heard her daughter’s cries.

And Lin Baoshan turned a blind eye to it.

It was only then that she discovered Lin Baoshan had been having an affair with one of the sister-in-law’s friends, and that woman was two months pregnant.

So, the Lin mother and son were hastily planning to kill her to bring that woman into the family.

They also wanted to kill her to prevent any disturbance at the factory from reclaiming her job and ruining the sister-in-law’s engagement.

Later, she died from her illness.

After her death, her spirit saw Lin Baoshan marry the sister-in-law’s friend, who gave birth to a son six months later, while her innocent daughter was treated like an animal by the Lin Family.

At twelve years old, her daughter was pushed into the river and drowned by the son of that woman.

While in her spiritual state, she overheard a conversation between Lin Baoshan and the mother-in-law, realizing that Lin Baoshan’s timely appearance to save her back then was all part of his scheme.

Lin Baoshan knew she had a substantial amount of money and a house, so he deliberately paid two thugs to harass her, then played the hero who saves the damsel, relentlessly pursuing her afterward until she fell for him.

The mother-in-law had initially flattered her to deceive her out of all her money, showing her true colors afterward.

And Lin Baoshan’s true love had always been the sister-in-law’s friend. She was just too foolish to see Lin Baoshan’s true face from the beginning.
