Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 226: Chapter 226: The Hapless Eldest Sister 41

”Mom, I’m back.”

Yuan Chun had just finished cooking when Tangtang ran into the yard, excitedly carrying her little backpack. ”Mom, look what I’ve got!”

The three-year-old girl was holding a little red flower, proudly showing it to Yuan Chun. ”The teacher gave it as a reward, Mom, it’s for you.”

”Thank you, my darling daughter.”

Yuan Chun smiled, took the little red flower, and pinned it on a wooden board hanging on the living room wall.

There were already dozens of little red flowers there.

”Mom, there’s another one now. The teacher said I scored full marks and praised me for being smart, and said my drawings are nice. Mom, I’m going to earn lots of little red flowers and cover the whole board at home.” Tangtang chattered incessantly as she followed her mom.

Wang Ziteng put down his daughter’s backpack, rolled up his sleeves, and helped bring the dishes to the table.

”Wife, both of our names are on the list this time for the teacher exchange conference in Hai City. We’ll leave in five days, and we’ll be away for two months. We should take Tangtang to the compound tomorrow and prepare ahead.” Wang Ziteng said as he sat down to eat.

Tangtang shouted excitedly, ”Mom, I want to go play with Great-Grandma and the kids in the compound. I haven’t seen them for a long time. Lingling promised to give me a paper dragonfly, but she hasn’t given it to me yet.”

Yuan Chun playfully tapped her nose. ”If you want to go, eat your meal obediently. After you finish this bowl, your dad and I will take you to the compound tomorrow.”

”Okay, Mom keeps her word.”

”When have I ever not kept my word?”

”Hmm, never, so I will eat well.”

The little girl happily focused on eating her meal.

Wang Ziteng busied himself with serving dishes for his precious daughter, ”Don’t just eat rice, have some vegetables too. The shrimp steamed egg custard Mom made is the best.”

The second year after they graduated, Yuan Chun became pregnant.

Mrs. Wang worried about her daughter-in-law not having someone to care for her during confinement, so she pulled some strings and transferred the couple, originally assigned to Zheng City, to teach at a primary school in Beijing.

Not long after Yuan Chun was transferred to Beijing, she gave birth to a little girl, delighting the elder members of the Wang family, who treated Yuan Chun like an ancestor, offering her the best they had.

Yuan Chun gained precisely ten pounds after confinement.

Tangtang was the only girl in three generations of the Wang family and was adored by everyone, especially Grandma Wang and Mrs. Wang. If a week went by without seeing their granddaughter, they’d send the guard to drive her to the compound for a few days.

Due to Yuan Chun and Wang Ziteng’s work commitments and the family planning policy that year, they only had Tangtang, but no one in the Wang family blamed Yuan Chun for not having a son.

She was favored more than her two sisters-in-law in the Wang family.

”Yuan Chun, just leave Tangtang here with peace of mind. You and Ziteng should focus on your careers and work well in Hai City. Don’t worry about Tangtang.” Grandma Wang happily held her great-granddaughter without letting go.

Tangtang was also fond of Great-Grandma. She nestled in her arms and said in a sweet voice, ”Dad, Mom, I’ll be good. I’ll listen to Great-Grandma and Grandma. You go to work and earn lots of money to buy toys, pretty new clothes, and little shoes for Tangtang.”

”Hahaha... My little granddaughter is so sensible. Tomorrow we’ll take you to the amusement park. I heard there are many new things there. That... what was it... merry-go-round. Old Lady Li took Lingling yesterday and said Lingling wouldn’t get off the merry-go-round. It cost 20 yuan, and she sat on it all morning. If she wasn’t hungry, she would have stayed on the merry-go-round. Hahaha... I don’t know what kind of merry-go-round it is. Mom, let’s take Tangtang there tomorrow too.”

”Okay, we’ll bring extra money. I want to play too.”

Grandma Wang was getting on in years, but after taking the Revitalizing Pill from Yuan Chun, she was very healthy and free from any old-age ailments.
