The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

“Finally, this day has come.”

Kran put down the coffee cup in his hand and placed the last piece of his favorite hazelnut chocolate cake into his mouth. Feeling the flavor in which bitterness and sweetness perfectly blended together, his surging heart also gradually calmed down.

Above the city, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and storms surged wildly. The café’s windows were violently blown open, and a terrifying aura swept in together with threads of rain, striking like countless blades.

His hair was lifted, revealing a face on which only coldness remained. Expressionless, Kran took several silver coins from his clothes and placed them on the dining table.

“Good coffee, good cake. I will come again.”

“Th...... thank you.”

The owner was hiding beneath a table. Although he was clearly trembling, he still squeezed out a professional smile.

“Are you very afraid?”

Before leaving, Kran glanced at the owner.

“O...... of course.” The owner shrank himself even farther beneath the table and said fearfully, “That is the legendary evil dragon! The existence that destroyed Tars. I thought it would be impossible for me to encounter the evil dragon in this lifetime. I never expected...... that just as the great heroes predicted, the evil dragon has descended!”

“The prophecy of the great heroes would naturally come true. It was only a matter of sooner or later.”

“That is why I’m saying I’m unlucky.”

As he spoke, the corners of the owner’s mouth visibly drooped, and his entire body emitted an extremely strong air of miserable suffering.

“I was only just robbed once, and now I’ve encountered the legendary evil dragon attacking. How did such low-probability events all happen to me?”

“Robbery? In the current New Tars, there are still people who would commit robbery?” Kran frowned.

“That was the evil dragon’s running dog. That person must be the evil dragon’s running dog!” the owner swore confidently. “Only the evil dragon’s running dog could be so evil! Damn it, if I had known earlier, I would have...... I would have...... I should have spat into his coffee and disgusted that evil bastard to death!”

“There is still no need to do that kind of thing.”

Kran said, “Whether it is the evil dragon or the evil dragon’s running dog, we will naturally deal with them. You do not need to do something that would bring shame upon New Tars.”

“Of course. I would never do something so tasteless. But you......” The owner seemed to think of something, and his entire body immediately became excited as he stared directly at the man before him. “Could you be one of the legendary Dragon-Slaying Team’s great lords?”

“There is no need to call me a great lord. I am merely an ordinary person struggling for the future of New Tars.”

Kran grabbed his coat and threw it over himself with a rustle.

The style of that coat was completely different from New Tars’s fashion of favoring soft, warm colors. It was entirely a deep black, while exaggerated dark-red marks dotted the black like scattered flower petals. At first glance...... they looked like the blood of something.

That was naturally not his blood, but...... dragon blood!

Five years ago, under the guidance of the great heroes, he had slain an earth dragon beneath this city!

A genuine earth dragon!

That was his achievement and also his glory. He had bathed in that earth dragon’s blood, and his body had been completely reborn under the nourishment of dragon blood. It was precisely because of this that he was able to hold such an important position.

Leader of the Dragon-Slaying Team.

That was right, dragon slaying.

How unbelievable those two words sounded, like a story that could exist only in some fairy tale. Even he himself had once thought so.

It was not until that earth dragon wailed and died before him, its scorching blood spraying everywhere and bathing his entire body, bringing him burning pain as though he were being consumed by fire, that he realized...... dragons were not invincible.

That evil dragon was the same.

Eight hundred years ago, Tars was destroyed at the hands of the evil dragon. The evil dragon was indeed terrifying, but it was probably just as the great heroes had said. That evil dragon had used despicable methods. She had taken advantage of the kindhearted Tars, and only because of that had she been able to destroy it so easily.

Things were different now. Tars, which had long since disappeared into history, was like a distinct scar, constantly reminding the people of New Tars...... They could not forget. They could not forget the evil dragon’s despicability and shamelessness...... as well as her evil!

Therefore, ever since New Tars was established, the people here had been preparing for the evil dragon’s return. He, as well as many others here, had not been softened by the beauty of this “carefree place.” Instead, they had continued struggling and growing stronger, tempering themselves in blood into sharp weapons for slaying dragons!

Everything would be different.

History would absolutely not repeat itself!

Boom!

Kran pushed open the café door. A bolt of lightning flashed, making his face appear even colder and sterner.

“Captain!”

Several burly men hurried over and said, “The people on the streets and in the squares have all been evacuated. The defensive magic formations have also been activated. Everything is ready.”

“Very good.”

Kran nodded lightly and said, “Then act according to the plan.”

“Understood!”

Whoosh!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

One figure after another rapidly swept into the sky, fearlessly blocking the path through which the giant dragon would inevitably descend.

Kran closed his eyes and felt the terrifying draconic might pierce through his pores. It felt as though he had returned to the moment when he fought that earth dragon.

Those claws, those sharp teeth, those scales...... that roar that seemed capable of stirring heaven and earth, as well as that oppressive force originating from the soul.

How terrifying.

But this time, he did not tremble or feel fear. Instead, he felt the blood throughout his entire body boiling as it surged through his veins!

“It is considerably larger than the earth dragon.”

Kran opened his eyes. The dragon’s shadow circling high in the sky was reflected in his deep pupils.

“But...... so what if its body is a little larger? I am no longer the same person I was five years ago!”

Kran shot up from the ground, his body like a sword as he directly tore through the raging winds.

Finally, he arrived at the very front of the entire group.

Before Kran arrived, more than a hundred people had already occupied every corner of the sky above New Tars according to some profound arrangement. Kran’s arrival was like placing the final piece of a puzzle, and the more than one hundred people instantly formed a single whole!

Their powers connected with one another like a city wall, completely blocking out the storm and pressure spread by the giant dragon.

The circling giant dragon lowered its eyes and also seemed somewhat surprised.

“Very good.”

Seeing this, the corners of Kran’s mouth could not help curving into a smile.

That evil dragon...... must be extremely shocked.

She had dared to descend so openly and arrogantly, so she must have been extremely confident in herself. But she certainly had not expected that such a large force capable of opposing her had already gathered in New Tars!

That was right. This was not the naive and weak Tars. This was New Tars!

This place...... feared nothing!

“Evil dragon!”

Kran shouted loudly, and his own powerful aura was finally released without the slightest reservation. In an instant, it caused heaven and earth to change color!

Peak Fifth Rank!

The limit of a warrior, the peak realm, combined with a body that had once been completely reborn through dragon blood. Kran felt his fighting spirit surging. It was as though he had already seen the story of himself stepping on the evil dragon and becoming a new hero!

Yet that was still not all!

Around him, the other experts also actively released their auras one after another. They were no longer satisfied with merely defending. Instead, with an unrestrained posture, they displayed their power to the evil giant dragon!

More than ten Fifth Ranks.

More than one hundred Fourth Ranks.

And a large group of outstanding mages!

This formation was enough to destroy heaven and earth. Even the legendary evil dragon would certainly be greatly shocked and perhaps even feel fear!

“Hahaha, evil dragon, I will be the first to fight you!”

Thinking this, Kran was finally unable to restrain himself. The violent wind surged, and under the enhancement of magic, he drew his longsword and charged directly toward the evil dragon!

As the vanguard, he would first show that evil dragon...... the power of New Tars’s Dragon-Slaying Team!

Certain victory!!!
