The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

“Is it over?”

After Marcie left, the fiery-red figure descended from the sky, still as dazzling as ever.

“More or less.”

Muen took a deep breath, adapting to the sharp aura surrounding Miss Dragon.

“More or less?”

“There are still many things in Annabawei. If they really had to be done, they wouldn’t be finished even by next year.”

“If you made me wait until next year, I might as well just kill you directly...”

Hamreign’s tone suddenly turned cold.

“Could you let me finish?”

Muen’s cheek twitched.

Could she not keep talking about killing at every turn... His fragile little heart could very easily be frightened into having problems.

“There are many things in Annabawei, but the rest are no longer things I should interfere with. In the end, no matter how bitter, how tiring, or how difficult it is, living beings will always find the path that belongs to them.”

Muen looked back. Annabawei was still as barren as ever. Everything that entered the eye was lifeless withered yellow, but he believed that before long, this place would change into another appearance.

After all, there was a Pioneer who had always only known how to charge forward, and she was already working hard for that.

And in another regard, the Pioneers’ “missionary work” had already come to an end for now. The people of Annabawei all seemed to like their new faith very much. The negative review rate so far was still zero.

Muen could hear their prayers in his mind every day. After all, this was an “outside-the-world land” like Annabawei, and there were no restrictions from the Church of Life. Under the Pioneers’ diligent promotion, in just two short days, the scale was about to surpass the Kingdom’s side.

Because of that, a certain little pope had been very anxious recently. Being surpassed by the “archbishop” she herself had personally appointed was probably something she could not accept.

He hoped that, as pope, she could broaden her heart and realize that the true purpose of the Black Sun Cult was inclusiveness, equality, and universal love... and not learn from a few bad women, making some kind of love battlefield every day.

That was far too disrespectful to him, the Lord Black Sun!

As for Annabawei itself, the only pity was that in the previous great battle, Rabuya City, along with the City-State United Pioneering Association, had suffered heavy losses. Because of that, a new system of rules was still gradually being established.

That might still require some time.

But it did not count as any major problem either, because people like Landa, people like Hawthorne, and many, many more experienced Pioneers like them had not fallen. They would very soon rebuild something even better upon the ruins.

In general, it was improving steadily! The future was promising!

“Heh.”

Hamreign suddenly laughed contemptuously.

“Wait until you have resolved the most important Pollution before saying such empty words.”

“...”

Muen’s expression stiffened slightly.

Fine... She was right. No matter how beautiful a future Annabawei seemed to be moving toward now, if the Pollution on their bodies was not completely resolved, those futures would still be nothing more than flowers in a mirror, the moon in water.

They would shatter easily.

“It will be resolved.”

Muen seemed to be making a guarantee to Miss Dragon, yet also seemed to be speaking to himself.

“One day, it will.”

“Humans always make their words sound pleasant...”

There was still contempt in her smile.

But this time, before Muen had time to retort, he felt a violent gale rush in. An enormous shadow covered him in the blink of an eye.

“Wait.”

Muen’s expression at this moment was no longer stiff... but had become completely terrified.

“You’re not going to do that again, are you?”

“Do what?”

Hamreign’s voice came over. To Muen, it was still as familiar as ever, only now it had already taken on the rumble unique to an enormous creature.

“I mean... mmph!”

Before Muen could finish speaking, a huge dragon claw swept over directly, like it was picking up some shabby old toy, and grabbed him into it in one motion.

The cold and hard dragon claw closed, scraping against his skin like steel. Muen felt that before the grief and indignation in his heart could even be released, it had already been thrown behind him by an acceleration that could be called terrifying, and he almost could not help but burst into tears.

This is exactly what I meant...

Next time... could we use a gentler method?

His current old bones really could not bear this too many times...

“Huh?”

Just as Muen was having that beautiful dream, he suddenly felt that the icy dragon claw around him... seemed to have truly relaxed a lot.

An illusion?

No, it was real!

He blinked and looked in shock as the dragon claw that had originally been clamping him to death gradually loosened. Then the claw tips interlaced, forming a cage-like state that covered him inside.

Although this state still looked very pitiful at first glance, like some cat or dog being placed in a cage by its owner and carried around everywhere... at least in terms of comfort, it was several dimensions better than before.

Miss Dragon was... finally learning to be considerate of people?

Or was there some other, even more terrifying punishment waiting behind this?

Muen shivered.

Based on his understanding of Miss Dragon, as well as his recently increasingly arrogant actions and attitude toward her, Muen felt that the latter was most likely.

...Could it be that the grudge from when he hugged her thigh before was finally going to be released here?

Muen swallowed and looked down through the gaps in the dragon claw... In the blink of an eye, the ground had already become incomparably distant. He could even already see Annabawei’s outline clearly.

If he fell from this height... what were the odds he could survive, and what were the odds he would become a meat patty?

Muen silently calculated for a moment... Mm. One to nine.

The only one-tenth chance was that during the process of falling, he would finally feel the call of light, thereby opening his hidden meridians and transforming into a Super Saiyan.

After all, they were both yellow-haired. There was still that tiny bit of hope of transforming.

“Miss Dragon, I was wrong!”

Muen had absolutely no intention of gambling on that tiny bit of hope. He tightly hugged the dragon claw.

“I will never do anything offensive to you again. Please spare me!”

“...Where were you wrong?”

A neck like a giant python curved over, and enormous golden pupils looked at him, revealing a trace of doubt.

“Huh?”

Muen was stunned.

Just as he was thinking about whether Miss Dragon was genuinely asking seriously, or whether this was a trap question like a wife interrogating her husband...

“I suddenly want to take a bath.”

“Hah?”

Miss Dragon’s words directly made Muen’s brain crash on the spot.

Take-take-take-take... take a bath?

Muen looked left, looked right, looked up, looked down... then suddenly covered his face shyly.

In broad daylight, under the open sky, suddenly playing this big... was not too good, right!

No matter what, they should at least find a place with no one around first. Only then...

“Rainfall Magic!”

The dragon body turned. A gigantic magic formation instantly took shape above the sky. Immediately afterward, torrential rain poured down.

The rainwater fell on Hamreign’s enormous dragon body, gathering into large sheets of water. One small stream flowed along the dragon claw and happened to splash down directly onto Muen’s head with a rush.

Muen silently put his hand back down.

Fine.

He had thought crookedly.

Damn it! He had forgotten that Miss Dragon was not human right now, but a dragon. Taking a bath did not require being so bashful and coy!

But then again...

“Why did you suddenly want to take a bath?”

And at this timing...

At this moment, Muen suddenly sensed something and focused his gaze.

This falling rain, any of it that first fell on Miss Dragon’s enormous dragon body covered in black scales and then flowed down from it... Perhaps it was his imagination, but it seemed to carry a faint golden color.

The pale golden rain drifted down just like that, soaking into Annabawei’s barren land.

A familiar aura of vitality began to spread...

This was...

“I see...”

Muen stroked his chin, revealing a smile that said he had already seen through everything.

“So Miss Dragon’s sadistic tendencies have already grown so intense that she likes making people drink her bathwater...”

Splash!

The claw suddenly opened and closed. The wind-blocking barrier also seemed to suddenly tear open a hole. The wild wind wrapped around the raindrops and rolled in madly, cold and merciless as it slapped Muen across the face.

“I was wrong, I was wrong!”

Muen tightly hugged the claw and shouted:

“I’ll never run my mouth again—aaahhhhh!”

His scream echoed through the high sky.

And the residents of Annabawei lifted their heads in delight, feeling this precious spring rain.
