Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

Chapter 541: Chapter 293: Chairman Qi, We All Want to Progress

The next day, Qi Sheng took Yu Chenxi, Wang Zhen, and a few employees from the administrative department to handle the legwork, inspecting the properties they had carefully prepared one by one.

‘This building is too old!’

‘How is this any different from our current situation? The total area barely meets the standard, but it’s still spread across four separate buildings.’

‘This one is decent, but it used to be a hotel. Converting it into an office building would take too much time.’

Seeing how demanding the big boss was, shooting down every suitable property they had so carefully selected, the employees who had hoped to curry favor now shrank back, terrified of being singled out for criticism.

Yu Chenxi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He hadn’t expected his boss to be so picky either.

“Boss, I do have one more suitable property in mind, but I’m afraid the owner won’t sell easily.”

“Oh?”

Qi Sheng’s interest was piqued. “Tell me about it.”

“You’ve probably heard that Alipay bought a building in Shanghai recently, right?”

Yu Chenxi searched for Pudong Financial Square on his phone, pulled up a picture, and handed it to Qi Sheng.

“They bought Tower 2. The one I was looking at is Tower 1, which was bought by Taikang Life Insurance. But the total price would probably be around 3 billion.”

“Hmm, this building is indeed nice. It’s very new, and it’s in Lujiazui.”

Qi Sheng glanced at the system’s quote and a smile immediately spread across his face. “This is the one!”

3 billion. Compared to Taikang Life Insurance’s acquisition price, this was nearly double.

For these insurance institutions, buying buildings was more for asset allocation.

As long as the price was right, they would naturally be happy to sell.

The male employees looked at each other in bewilderment.

When they were searching for office buildings, they had tried their best to consider cost-effectiveness.

But who the hell knew that the new boss didn’t even have that concept in his vocabulary.

It didn’t matter if it was 2 billion or 3 billion.

To Qi Sheng, it was all a drop in the bucket.

After using the system’s compulsory acquisition authority, Qi Sheng paid the matter no more attention.

On the way back to the company, Yu Chenxi’s phone suddenly rang.

“What? Oh, okay, I understand. Just proceed according to their instructions.”

After hanging up, Yu Chenxi looked at his boss, who was resting with his eyes closed, with a strange expression on his face.

‘So little time has passed, and Taikang Life Insurance has already agreed to the acquisition.’

It was a bit of a shame that the 3 billion in funds was gone before he could even get used to having it.

But when he thought about them moving to Lujiazui and becoming neighbors with Alipay, Yu Chenxi found it impossible to suppress his smile.

“Is that news from Taikang Life Insurance?”

Qi Sheng asked, already knowing the answer.

“The finance department just called me. Taikang Life Insurance is requesting a deposit of no less than 500 million.”

“Once they receive the deposit, they’ll issue a transaction announcement as soon as possible and begin an orderly withdrawal from Pudong Financial Plaza Tower 1.”

Yu Chenxi’s tone couldn’t hide his delight.

“When we get back, I’ll notify all the employees so everyone can share in the good news.”

“Just sending a message? What kind of celebration is that? Have the finance department pay double salaries this month. Consider it a bonus from me.”

Qi Sheng had been a regular employee before, so he naturally knew that making empty promises was useless.

Only the incentive of cold, hard cash would have the most immediate effect.

“Understood.”

Yu Chenxi’s face immediately fell, his heart aching at the expense.

With a single sentence from the boss, twenty to thirty million was gone just like that.

Fortunately, the company’s own profits were substantial enough that they could afford it.

If they hadn’t gone all-in on developing *Genshin Impact*, who knows how comfortable their lives would be.

“Alright, it’s not like I said I wouldn’t inject more capital into the company.”

Seeing Yu Chenxi’s expression, Qi Sheng said with an amused laugh, “I’ll inject another 3 billion into the company. As we expand, we can’t just hire blindly. We need to be targeted and fill in the gaps.”

Qi Sheng had spent 12 billion to acquire Miha You, and another 6 billion on buying the building and injecting capital into the company.

Of the loan from China Construction Bank, there was still 3 billion left.

Adding the 9 billion in his own account, his cash flow remained above ten billion.

‘By the way, how many zeros are in ten billion again?’

‘Oh, right, ten zeros.’

‘When I used to play Fight the Landlord, I never even dreamed my Happy Beans balance would have that many zeros.’

“Rest assured, sir. I will personally oversee the recruitment work.”

Yu Chenxi cherished his current opportunity as acting president.

He was even more eager to drop the “acting” from his title and be officially confirmed.

“You are the soul of the company. Just leave the recruitment work to the HR department.”

“I’m just giving you a heads-up. I don’t want to see the company expand chaotically and have its structure become rigid.”

‘Looking at Yu Chenxi, his abilities are still a bit lacking.’

‘In the future, Miha You will be a company with tens of billions in annual profit.’

‘If its acting president isn’t capable enough, won’t that be a reflection on me?’

Qi Sheng used three additional Expert-level Talent Recruitment Cards to raise Yu Chenxi’s talent level to Master Level.

‘Master-Level corporate management ability… much more pleasing to the eye.’

As for the finance and HR departments, they also urgently needed reinforcements.

The previous finance director had left with Cai Haoyu and the others.

And the original HR director, Yu Chenxi, had been promoted to acting president by Qi Sheng.

‘Wang Zhen’s performance is not bad. He can be promoted to Chief Operating Officer to assist Yu Chenxi.’

Using three Expert-level Talent Recruitment Cards, he gave Miha You a small, targeted reinforcement.

Qi Sheng glanced at his inventory of Talent Recruitment Cards. He still had a full 63 of them.

‘There are so many, I can’t possibly use them all!’

…

Back at the company, Yu Chenxi announced the decision to acquire Pudong Financial Plaza Tower 1.

The finance department, for its part, had already wired the deposit to the account designated by Taikang Life Insurance.

All that remained was for both parties to have representatives sign off on the final transaction, and Taikang Life Insurance would begin moving out.

At the same time, news of the big boss’s generosity spread: he was giving everyone an extra month’s salary to celebrate.
