Time flew by in the blink of an eye~In what felt like a moment, three years had already passed.

Within the courtyard, a gentle stream trickled softly, birds chirped, and flowers bloomed vibrantly, filling the air with life.

A light breeze drifted through, carrying with it the faint fragrance of medicinal herbs, lingering in the air and soothing the senses with its refreshing scent.

Beneath a willow tree, Wei Yang lay lazily on a reclined chair, his eyes half-closed, wearing a look of complete comfort and satisfaction.

Not far away, on the grassy field, two adorable little children—carved from jade and sculpted like dolls—were chasing each other around, giggling and playing happily.

Beside them sat the hulking figure of Du Jiao, his massive body steady like a mountain, and on his head, a few tiny flowers had been mischievously tucked in by little hands. Despite his intimidating appearance, he sat there patiently, carefully watching over the two little ones like a guardian.

Three years had passed, and Du Jiao had already advanced to Two-Star Dou Zun.

At this moment, his gaze followed the children’s every movement closely, and on his usually expressionless face, there was now a rare trace of calm gentleness.

Just then, the little boy dressed in white came running over, his tiny legs wobbling adorably as he called out in his soft, milky voice, ”Uncle Du Jiao, I wanna ride horsey!”

Right after, the little girl in pink skipped over as well, bouncing happily while shouting, ”Me too! I want too! Uncle Du Jiao, I wanna ride horsey too!”

”Hehe, alright.” Du Jiao chuckled softly, then moved with practiced ease as he crouched down on the grass. ”Come on, little masters, climb on.”

”Yayyy~!”

The two little ones cheered loudly and scrambled up his sturdy back, climbing with surprising agility until they sat proudly atop him.

”Giddy up~ Giddy up~!”

As the two children squealed excitedly, Du Jiao smiled faintly and began crawling forward slowly across the grassy field, playing along patiently.

”Hehe~ Hehe~”

The children’s crisp laughter rang through the courtyard, warm and infectious, filling the air with joy.

Under the shade of the willow tree, Wei Yang lazily lifted his eyelids just enough to glance over at the noisy trio, yawned, and promptly turned over on his chair.

Children around two years old... truly an age when even dogs would get tired of them. Watching them was exhausting.

Thankfully, Du Jiao was around to help him look after the little troublemakers—otherwise, Wei Yang would’ve long since collapsed from frustration.

Now that he finally had a rare moment of peace, he intended to make the most of it. While his two tiny ”ancestors” weren’t bothering him, he’d better catch up on some good sleep—that was the real priority here.

Being a father... sigh, it was honestly hard to put into words!

If he had a choice, Wei Yang would rather fight the entire Hall of Souls than spend every day chasing after toddlers.

By midday.

A graceful figure dressed in flowing white rounded the corner of a small garden path, her long white hair glimmering under the sunlight.

”Mommy~ Mommy~!”

The two sharp-eyed little ones spotted her instantly, their faces lighting up with joy. Forgetting all about riding horsey, they slid off Du Jiao’s back in a rush and stumbled forward, their tiny legs carrying them as fast as they could toward the figure.

”Slow down! Don’t fall!”

Xian’er called out softly, but her movements were far from slow. With a single step, her figure blurred, and she appeared right in front of the two children, squatting down to catch them before they could trip.

Scooping them both into her arms, she gave each of their little bottoms a light pat and scolded gently, ”Running and jumping around like that again, hmm?”

”Heehee~” The two little ones giggled innocently, wriggling happily in her embrace without the slightest hint of guilt.

”You two little mischief-makers.” Xian’er shook her head helplessly, a fond smile spreading across her face. Holding the children securely, she asked softly, ”Where’s your father?”

In perfect unison, the two kids raised their tiny hands and pointed toward the shade under the willow tree, answering sweetly, ”Daddy’s over there!”

Xian’er followed their direction, her gaze landing on Wei Yang. Her expression darkened slightly.

”Hmph.” She let out a quiet snort and, carrying the children, walked straight toward him.

When she reached the reclined chair and saw Wei Yang fast asleep, snoring softly, several faint black lines instantly appeared on her forehead. Her pretty face was filled with exasperation, and irritation welled up inside her.

Unable to hold it back, she lightly kicked him on the leg. Wei Yang smacked his lips, rolled over lazily, and continued sleeping, not even bothering to lift an eyelid.

”Daddy, daddy, wake up!” The two little ones called out in their soft, milky voices, shaking his arm with all their tiny strength.

”Babies, don’t make trouble, be good, go play with Uncle Du Jiao, let Daddy sleep a little longer, just a little, I’m sleepy.” Wei Yang mumbled drowsily.

Xian’er directly plopped the two little ones onto Wei Yang’s body, then reached out her jade-like hand, grabbed one of his ears, and gave it a gentle twist.

The two little ones were also crawling and wriggling around in Wei Yang’s arms, shouting, ”Daddy, Daddy~”

Wei Yang simply lay flat, only lifting his arms slightly to hold the two little ones in place so they wouldn’t fall, letting them climb and play all over him while he continued sleeping on his own.

This scene nearly made Xian’er laugh from anger. Seeing that twisting his ear was useless, she directly pinched his nose and scolded, ”I told you to watch the kids, but you’re over here napping like nothing’s wrong, completely ignoring them. You’re such a lazy bum!”

”Lazy bum, Daddy is a lazy bum~” the two little ones immediately followed her lead, chanting together.

Wei Yang groggily opened his eyes, only to see Xian’er’s beautiful face filled with a mix of annoyance and amusement. That immediately woke him up as if struck by lightning, and his eyes snapped open.

”Xian’er, you’re done with work? Quick, take the kids to play.” Wei Yang blurted out instinctively. Then he instantly realized what he’d just said and quickly shut his mouth.

Under Xian’er’s narrowed gaze, Wei Yang had no choice but to yawn helplessly, sit up, hug the two wriggling little ones, and sigh. ”Wife, seriously, what have you been feeding these two? Why are they so full of energy lately?”

”They’ve been wearing me out for days. It’s like they don’t even get tired.”

”Pfft~” Hearing this, Xian’er couldn’t hold back her laughter, smiling sweetly as she said, ”I just refined some Foundation-Nourishing Essence Liquid and let them soak in it a little.”

”They’re barely over two years old, and you’re already experimenting on them? Can’t you wait another couple of years?” Wei Yang flopped back down on the chair. ”They’re exhausting me.”

”I’m not experimenting blindly.” Xian’er pouted unhappily. ”I’m already a peak Tier 7 alchemist, okay? Making a little Foundation-Nourishing Essence Liquid, how could I possibly mess that up?”

As she said this, she proudly tilted her chin upward.

”Peak Tier 7? You? That’s pushing it.” Wei Yang scoffed lightly, ”You only managed to successfully refine two or three high Tier 7 pills by sheer luck, and your success rate isn’t even thirty percent yet. How can you call that peak Tier 7? At best, I’d say you’re just solidly high Tier 7.”

”You... you jerk, all you know how to do is put me down.” Xian’er’s cheeks puffed up, and she pinched Wei Yang’s waist in retaliation, snapping, ”I don’t care! I’m calling myself peak Tier 7!”

”Alright, alright, I surrender, you’re peak Tier 7, okay?” Wei Yang raised both hands in mock defeat, utterly helpless.

This woman... she was beyond reason now.

With one big and two little ones tormenting him, Wei Yang finally gave up on trying to nap. His plans for a good midday sleep were ruined.

”I am peak Tier 7,” Xian’er muttered smugly, finally letting him go.

With the Pill Tower Pill Gathering approaching, she had been pushing herself hard these days to improve her alchemy skills. But despite her efforts, she was still a little short of truly reaching peak Tier 7, which made her a bit frustrated and sensitive about the topic.

Over the past few days, she’d even started dumping the kids onto Wei Yang, fully devoting herself to refining pills and pushing her limits.

Fortunately, since her cultivation had risen to Seven-Star Dou Zun, her soul power had also grown stronger, or else breaking through would’ve been even harder.

To truly reach the level of a peak Tier 7 alchemist, one needed a soul at the peak of the Mortal Realm, bordering on the Spirit Realm — a half-step Spirit Realm. Xian’er, however, was still a bit short of that. Her current soul was only at the peak late-stage Mortal Realm.

Still, given her Seven-Star Dou Zun cultivation, her soul power strength was barely sufficient to be considered peak Tier 7.

She only lacked a touch of ”spirituality” — after all, a half-step Spirit Realm soul would have already begun to naturally develop traces of spiritual energy within its essence.

”Is Qing Lin still in seclusion?” Xian’er asked as she picked up one of the little ones, cradling the child in her arms.

”Not yet, Ah Da sent word saying it’ll probably be a few more days,” Wei Yang replied, yawning as he sat up and grabbed the teacup from the stone table beside him, taking a sip.

Qing Lin had already been in closed-door cultivation for nearly a month now. She was attempting to break through to Dou Zun!

Ah Da was personally guarding her. As for Ah Da himself, after three years of gradual recovery, he had already returned to peak Seven-Star Dou Zun, just one small step away from reaching Eight-Star.

Because his reconstructed body had been made from top-quality materials, his recovery had been remarkably smooth.

At this rate, even without using the Fuling Azure Pill, Ah Da would likely return to his peak Nine-Star Dou Zun state within ten years or so.

As for Wei Yang... he had already reached peak Dou Zong long ago. Now, all he needed was the right opportunity to directly step into the Dou Zun realm.
