**

Hearing this, Wei Yang’s heart stirred slightly.

Profound Sky Sect.

One of the two most renowned sects on the entire continent.

On Central Plains, powers were tangled and complicated. That so-called ”One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions” couldn’t even fully encompass all the forces present within Central Plains.

Central Plains was vast and boundless. There were still many hidden, low-profile powers living in seclusion, whose strength was by no means inferior to those famous top-tier forces. In fact, some were even stronger.

Of course, these hidden powers didn’t include the colossal existences like the Ancient Eight Clans.

Nevertheless, for Profound Sky Sect to sit firmly as one of the continent’s two most renowned sects, it was certainly not a reputation gained in vain.

An ancient sect with a heritage stretching back thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of years—their strength and foundation were unimaginably terrifying. Even the Hall of Souls and the Pill Tower didn’t dare underestimate them.

However...

”Sorry, I have no interest in making a big profit off your things, so I won’t trouble you to waste your efforts.”

Wei Yang appeared to be ”restrained” by spatial power, unable to move. But in truth, if he truly erupted with full force, he could easily break free. However, he forcefully suppressed this impulse.

Because the Death Life Flame... under this kind of circumstance, he had no intention of exposing it casually. Otherwise, endless trouble would certainly follow.

”This drop of blood essence is useful to me. I have no plans to hand it over for now.” Wei Yang replied indifferently.

Threats?

He wasn’t even afraid of the Hall of Souls, so why would he fear mere Profound Sky Sect?

Hearing Wei Yang’s rejection, a cold glint flashed in the eyes of the sinister elder, Old Ghost Yin. He sneered faintly, ”Kid, you’ve got guts... but you really don’t know what’s good for you.”

The hand hidden inside his wide sleeve slowly clenched into a fist.

Buzz~

Immediately—

The spatial force surrounding Wei Yang tightened sharply, and that oppressive pressure grew even stronger.

”You planning to make a move here?” Wei Yang’s gaze grew colder as he asked in a calm tone.

As his words fell, several cold, watchful gazes instantly shot over from hidden corners, locking onto Old Ghost Yin, carrying a faint warning within them.

Clearly, the auction’s backstage enforcers had already been monitoring the situation here.

If Wei Yang called for help, or if he was truly placed in danger, those hidden experts would immediately strike to intervene.

”You... very well!” Under the weight of those warning gazes, Old Ghost Yin felt the pressure and had no choice but to slowly retract his spatial power. His eyes, however, remained cold and venomous as he glared at Wei Yang, saying word by word, ”Kid, report your name.”

”Just an insignificant nobody, not worth remembering.”

Regaining his ”freedom,” Wei Yang casually stretched his limbs a little, then turned and walked away.

Just as he reached the staircase, his figure paused slightly. He slowly turned his head back, cast a deep glance at Old Ghost Yin, and then walked down the stairs without another word.

”Old Ghost Yin... I’ll remember you.”

Only a faint murmur, like a whisper to himself, drifted through the air. Hearing this, the surrounding crowd couldn’t help but look surprised.

They hadn’t expected this young man to be so bold—daring to leave behind such harsh words even as he departed.

With that, this conflict had undoubtedly escalated. Because what Wei Yang just did... was the same as slapping Old Ghost Yin’s face in public.

As expected—

”How presumptuous!” Old Ghost Yin laughed in fury, his sleeve robe flicking sharply. Under the onlooking, slightly mocking gazes of the crowd, his figure blurred and shot toward the staircase entrance.

In an instant, he disappeared from sight.

—

Back on the second floor.

Wei Yang swept his gaze across the room and walked forward.

After circling around half the floor, he smoothly found Ah Da, who was still negotiating a trade with someone.

Wei Yang stopped, clasped his hands behind his back, and waited silently.

Soon, Ah Da finished his transaction.

He hurried over, excitement written all over his face, and bowed deeply. ”Master, we’ve successfully exchanged for the final main ingredient—the Ten Thousand Year Old Green Spiritual Vine!”

He couldn’t help but be excited.

Revival... was finally within reach!

”Mm, good.” Wei Yang nodded slightly.

At this moment, Ah Da also noticed the faint displeasure on Wei Yang’s face. Stunned for a moment, he quickly asked, ”Master, did something happen?”

”Oh, nothing much. Just got bullied by someone on the third floor.” Wei Yang replied casually.

”Who was it?!” Ah Da instantly exploded.

As the saying goes, if the master is humiliated, the servant dies!

In Ah Da’s heart, anyone who dared to bully his master was a mortal enemy, one that must never be forgiven!

”We’ll talk while walking.” Wei Yang turned and headed downstairs, speaking lightly to the Ah Da following behind him, ”That man’s from Profound Sky Sect. He’s called Old Ghost Yin, a Dou Zun with considerable strength. He’s probably not much weaker than Bing He.”

He briefly explained what had just happened, and finally said faintly, ”No rush. Everything can wait until after you’re revived.”

”Mm.” Ah Da nodded, his voice cold as he said, ”Profound Sky Sect’s Old Ghost Yin, huh? Master, don’t worry. Once I’m revived, I’ll definitely capture him alive, rip out his soul, and hand it to you for torture and venting your anger.”

”Extract his soul? That’s a good idea.”

Wei Yang nodded approvingly, a faint smile curling his lips. ”Ah Da, your words truly speak to my heart. The best punishment for an enemy isn’t killing them swiftly, but to tear their soul out alive... then torment them slowly, make them beg for death yet be unable to die, until their consciousness completely collapses!”

”Master is absolutely right.” Ah Da quickly flattered with a grin, ”Once you’ve had enough fun torturing him, hand him to me. I’ll grind his soul inch by inch, burn it in flames to temper it, and then devour it in one bite!”

”Heh, Old Ghost Yin?” As Wei Yang stepped onto the staircase leading to the first floor, a low, chilling laugh escaped his lips. ”By the time I’m done with you, becoming a ghost will be the last thing you’ll wish for! Jie jie jie~”

”Jie jie jie~” Behind him, Ah Da also let out a sinister laugh.

—

Outside the Alchemist Trade Fair.

Walking along the bustling, lively streets—

”Master, someone’s watching us in secret.” Ah Da transmitted his voice quietly.

”I know.” Wei Yang clasped his hands behind his back, strolling casually. ”If I’m not mistaken, it should be that Old Ghost Yin.”

”Damn it!” Ah Da’s expression twisted in anger, transmitting again, ”Master, want me to teach him a lesson first?”

”No need. Don’t startle the snake.” Wei Yang responded indifferently, ”If he wants to follow, let him. Inside Holy Pill City, I doubt he’d dare to make a move so easily.”

—

When they arrived before the mansion gates, Wei Yang’s footsteps paused slightly, and the corner of his eye swept toward a certain direction.

There, beneath the shadows of a tree, a faint, ghostly gray figure flickered within his perception, as if lurking between existence and illusion. He retracted his gaze calmly and ordered, ”Ignore it. Let’s go inside.”

”Yes.” Ah Da also withdrew his gaze, his tone reluctant as he responded. His fingers subtly shifted through a series of seals, silently opening a narrow gap in the spatial barrier.

He then strode forward and pushed open the tightly shut bronze gates.

The two of them stepped inside.

Ka... Boom.

The heavy bronze gates slowly closed and sealed behind them, and the gap in the spatial barrier outside also disappeared instantly.

—

In the distance, within the shadow beneath the tree—

The space rippled slightly, and a gray-robed figure stepped out slowly.

It was Old Ghost Yin.

His face was gloomy, and his sharp, vulture-like eyes glimmered coldly, as venomous as a poisonous serpent, staring intently at the mansion covered by the spatial barrier.

Under the cover of his wide sleeve robe, both his hands clenched tightly, veins bulging slightly as frustration and anger flashed across his gaze.

With that spatial barrier guarding them, sneaking in silently for an ambush was clearly impossible.

Without knowing the method to open the barrier, the only options were either to forcefully break through with raw power—or possess a special ability to silently bypass and enter the barrier from within.

However, Old Ghost Yin obviously lacked that kind of ability. On this continent, aside from the too-mysterious Ancient Void Clan, no other race could pull off such a feat.

As for breaking it by force...this was Holy Pill City, near the Inner Region’s edge, practically right under the Pill Tower’s nose.

He could act, but it would have to be completely silent and without a trace. Otherwise, if the commotion grew too big, it would be seen as openly provoking the Pill Tower.

Even as a member of Profound Sky Sect, he didn’t dare act so recklessly. Just like earlier on the busy main streets, he hadn’t dared to strike casually either.

If his target had merely been some Dou Huang or a low-level Dou Zong, he was confident he could’ve silently eliminated them in the shadows and left without a trace.

But Wei Yang... this was a Five-Star Dou Zong. He had no such certainty, especially when that strange, cold-aura servant beside him kept giving Old Ghost Yin a deep, unsettling feeling.

Without knowing the full extent of their strength, he dared not make any rash moves. He could only tail them quietly all the way. Yet he hadn’t expected Wei Yang to be so cautious even within Holy Pill City, his mansion had already been reinforced with a spatial barrier.

Just how many enemies had this guy made?

Even with the Pill Tower so close by, he still didn’t feel safe, forced to hide behind a spatial barrier day and night.

”Damn it... The moment I heard news about that drop of Ancient Blood Essence, I rushed over immediately... but still, I was one step too late!”

Old Ghost Yin gritted his teeth hard, resentment boiling in his chest.

He’d even been willing to offer up an Eighth-Tier Beast Flame at an inflated price to buy it, showing just how desperate he was for that drop of Ancient Blood essence.

”I don’t believe you’ll stay inside that barrier forever...”

”I’ll keep watching you. If one year isn’t enough, then two. If two years aren’t enough, then three! I refuse to believe you’ll never step outside!”

Finally, Old Ghost Yin let out a cold snort. His figure blurred and vanished into the rippling space, disappearing without a trace.
