Vast soul power surged into the cauldron. Controlling the temperature of the black flame, Wei Yang carefully sensed the changes inside.

After about ten minutes, the cauldron had been warmed to a suitable level. Wei Yang nodded slightly, his hand seals shifting as his mind moved.

Beside him, a jade box opened, and a green fruit floated out, hovering before him. The Spring Spirit Fruit, usually found deep within primeval forests, places brimming with vitality.

Its effect was to hasten the transformation of low-tier magic beasts, and for humans, it could strengthen the body and enhance blood and physique.

With a wave of his hand, the Spring Spirit Fruit flew into the cauldron’s opening. The black flame swept over, wrapping the fruit.

This time, Wei Yang chose to be more cautious. Instead of refining multiple herbs at once, he decided to work one by one, slowly.

The black flame enveloped the fruit, its scorching heat burning away. A faint green glow shimmered on the surface of the Spring Spirit Fruit, resisting the strange fire’s incineration.

However, it was still just an auxiliary ingredient. Under the burning of the black flame, it only lasted less than ten minutes before reaching its end. And that was even after Wei Yang deliberately controlled the temperature.

As the green fruit withered, wisps of green mist emerged, gathering into a small cloud of green vapor that floated within the fire.

As the green vapor thickened, it gradually condensed into a viscous green liquid, radiating pure energy fluctuations.

Once the liquid formed, the remaining fruit’s body was instantly reduced to ash under the black flame, and finally burned into nothingness.

Changing his seals, Wei Yang lowered the flame slightly, nourishing and tempering it for a while longer. Then, he set the green liquid aside, splitting a wisp of black flame to form a tiny black sun, wrapping around the liquid to maintain a constant temperature for continued nurturing.

After that, he took out another auxiliary herb and threw it into the cauldron for refining.

The Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill required more than a hundred ingredients, among them the Blood Essence Demon Fruit, Ten Thousand Year Old Green Spiritual Vine, and Snow Bone Ginseng.

This was an immense undertaking, where not a single step could go wrong. What’s more, he only had one copy of each herb.

Because of this, Wei Yang had to treat the process with extreme caution. This was the most serious alchemy he had done in years.

Time flowed.

As each herb was refined, the number of little black suns within the cauldron gradually increased. Unknowingly, the sky turned from light to dark, then dark to light again.

A whole day and night passed.

Yet Wei Yang remained full of energy. The consumption of soul power was nothing significant to him.

With his mid-spirit realm peak soul, his Five-Star Dou Zong strength, and the support of a Heaven Grade cultivation technique, this workload was nothing.

Finally, when the cauldron was filled with more than a hundred miniature suns, only three jade boxes remained unopened at his side. Those were the three main ingredients!

After a short rest, he continued the refining. First was the Snow Bone Ginseng, flying out of its jade box and entering the cauldron. The black flame immediately swept over, engulfing it.

But the Snow Bone Ginseng was not so easily subdued. Its entire body glowed with a jade-like luster, resisting the scorching heat.

To avoid damaging its medicinal properties, Wei Yang maintained a specific temperature in the flame, so for the moment, the black flame could not overwhelm it. Thus, within the cauldron, the Snow Bone Ginseng proved exceptionally stubborn.

Wei Yang wasn’t impatient. Like boiling a frog in warm water, he kept the temperature constant, slowly wearing it down.

As time passed, the ginseng’s resistance gradually weakened. Against the relentless black flame, it finally gave in. Soon, the protective layer it released began to unravel and crumble under the fire.

Without that protection, the Snow Bone Ginseng started to ooze drops of milky-white liquid, like pearls rolling within the flames.

During this process, its body shriveled, unable to withstand the black flame’s pressure, until it was completely drained of essence, not a drop left.

Wei Yang let out a light breath, glancing at the sky.

Another day had passed.

Without pause, he moved the ginseng’s essence aside to be nurtured, then tossed the Ten Thousand Year Old Green Spiritual Vine into the cauldron to begin the next refinement.

Under the burning of the black flame, the Ten Thousand Year Old Green Spiritual Vine twisted like it had life of its own, writhing like a spirit snake.

Wei Yang remained extremely patient, continuing to simmer it slowly. Alchemy was a craft that tested patience and focus to the extreme, never something to be rushed. Those lacking in temperament, even if gifted, would ultimately achieve little.

With his soul perception, Wei Yang constantly monitored the flame’s temperature and every subtle change of the Ten Thousand Year Old Green Spiritual Vine, adjusting at any moment to ensure not the slightest mistake occurred.

Crack, crack, crack~

Under the persistent burning of the black flame, faint snapping sounds came from the vine’s surface. Its outer skin gradually split and dried, like a snake shedding its skin.

Until, with a sudden bang.

The entire vine exploded apart, crumbling into ash.

Only a dark green core-like object, resembling the heartwood of a tree, remained. Under the black flame it slowly melted, becoming a lump of viscous green latex-like liquid.

Seeing this, Wei Yang’s lips curved into a faint smile. After tempering it a while longer, he wrapped it in black flame, condensed it into a miniature sun, and set it aside.

Now, only the last ingredient remained — the Blood Essence Demon Fruit.

Wei Yang’s eyes fixed on the final unopened jade box, his expression tightening as he drew in a slow breath.

With the box opening, an oval blood-red fruit floated upward, a faint mist of blood coiling around its surface.

At a thought, it flew into the cauldron.

The black flame surged up to meet it.

In the dark light of the flame, the blood-red fruit appeared even more alluring, as a faint bloody glow lit up against the darkness, resisting the burn of the strange fire.

A faint metallic tang of blood gradually spread through the air. The Blood Essence Demon Fruit was only formed after being nurtured with the blood essence of magic beasts. It was like a unique coagulation of countless beasts’ blood essence.

Time ticked by.

Outside, the sun and moon alternated in their eternal cycle. Wei Yang’s mind remained locked tightly onto the cauldron’s interior, not daring to lose focus for even a breath.

Finally, as the bloody glow shattered, the black flame seized the fruit’s core. Under its burning, the Blood Essence Demon Fruit was gradually drained of all its essence.

Drop by drop, an exceedingly bewitching, crimson-glowing liquid was refined, gathering together. The refinement of the Blood Essence Demon Fruit was complete.

At last, a cluster of dazzling, blood-red medicinal liquid floated within the black flame, glowing faintly.

At this moment, inside the cauldron, over a hundred miniature black suns revolved within the surging flame, slowly rotating like a galaxy. The sight was magnificent.

Wei Yang exhaled softly, a smile finally appearing on his face.

After nearly ten days, he had successfully refined and extracted every one of the hundred-plus ingredients.

What remained was the most difficult, most important, and most dangerous step of pill refining — condensation!

To forcibly fuse the essence of more than a hundred ingredients together and stabilize them into a pill was anything but simple.

Leaving the essences within the cauldron to continue nurturing, Wei Yang slowly closed his eyes, adjusting his own state.
