High up in the sky, a fierce wind howled, blowing straight into their faces.

More than a dozen enormous flying magic beasts were soaring through the air, and on their broad backs stood numerous figures.

These were Rank 4 flying magic beasts: Tiger Eagle Beasts.

Each one was equivalent to a human Dou Ling powerhouse — not only fierce, but also extremely good at long-distance flight, with high speed as well. They were rare and valuable flying mounts.

At this moment, on the spacious back of the lead Tiger Eagle Beast, stood Wei Yang, Xiao Yan, Medusa, Xiao Li, Zi Yan, and others.

”These Tiger Eagle Beasts have an extremely unyielding temperament and are very difficult to tame. In order to get them, I paid a hefty price to exchange for them from the ’Beast Taming Gate’,” Xiao Li said with a laugh as he looked at these tiger-eagle-like magic beasts.

Everyone nodded.

Over a dozen flying magic beasts were equivalent to over a dozen Dou Ling experts, and as rare flying beasts, their price was naturally high.

”This day... has finally come!” Looking at the lineup before him, Xiao Li murmured softly, and in his eyes there was a faint trace of fanaticism and eagerness.

Thinking back to two years ago, when he had fled the Jia Ma Empire like a stray dog, enduring countless life-and-death situations to reach the Black-Corner Region in search of Xiao Yan — who would have thought he could return so soon?

Moreover, this time he was returning with such a terrifying force.

There were even two Dou Zong among them.

Xiao Yan’s pitch-black eyes also surged with a strange heat. The fierce wind blowing straight at him made his robes flap wildly.

Lowering his head, he looked at the ever-smaller ground scenery below, then slowly raised his head, his gaze locking onto the far southern horizon, and the corner of his mouth slowly drew up in a cold, sinister smile.

”Jia Ma Empire, Yun Lan Sect — I, Xiao Yan, am back!”

Wei Yang was seated cross-legged on the massive head of a Tiger Eagle Beast. The oncoming fierce wind strangely parted to either side of him.

As a result, within half a meter of his surroundings, everything was calm — even his robes did not flutter in the slightest.

”Jia Ma Empire...” gazing to the south, he murmured lightly in his heart, a trace of nostalgia flashing through his eyes.

After more than three years away, he never thought he’d be setting foot on that land again so soon.

The land where he had lived for over a decade — his place of origin.

Scenes couldn’t help but flash through his mind.

From Wu Tan City, to the Magic Beast Mountain Range, to the Tagore Desert...

”Hey.”

At that moment, a crisp and childish voice suddenly rang out from behind him.

Wei Yang returned to himself and turned his head to look.

He saw a little girl in white, hands on her hips, tilting her head with a faintly puzzled look in her light purple eyes, staring straight at him.

”What is it?” Wei Yang was momentarily stunned and asked.

Everyone’s eyes also turned over, including Medusa, whose long and cold eyes faintly softened as they fell on the white-robed little girl.

This little girl in white was none other than the brute-strength girl Zi Yan. She wrinkled her nose slightly, leaned forward a bit, sniffed the air toward Wei Yang, and then said, ”Have I seen you somewhere before? Why does your scent feel familiar to me?”

”Uh...” Wei Yang froze for a second, then laughed awkwardly.

This Ancient Void Dragon cub — her nose was surprisingly sharp!

More than two years ago, back when he snatched the Fallen Heart Flame at the Inner Academy, he had only appeared for a very brief moment, and was quite far away from the little girl, even deliberately concealing his aura.

He didn’t expect that not only could she pick up his aura, but after so long she could still recognize it.

”Hurry up and say it — have we met somewhere before?”

Seeing Wei Yang staying silent, Zi Yan immediately raised her delicate brows, clenched her small fists, and glared at him fiercely, her expression clearly saying if you don’t tell me the truth right now, I’m going to beat you up.

Not far away, Xiao Yan couldn’t help but smack his forehead, feeling a bit of a headache.

Even Medusa, who found it somewhat funny in her heart, couldn’t help but reveal a trace of worry.

At this moment, she felt an inexplicable fear that Wei Yang might get angry and hold it against Zi Yan.

Nearby, Lin Yan, Xiao Li, and the others also couldn’t help but show worried expressions.

They really hadn’t expected this brute-strength girl to be so bold — rampaging through the Inner Academy was one thing.

But daring to question and even threaten Wei Yang, a Dou Zong, face-to-face — that was truly reckless beyond belief.

For a moment, the atmosphere turned a bit awkward.

”Zi Yan, stop messing around.” Xiao Yan hurriedly stepped forward two paces, pulling Zi Yan behind him. He smiled toward Wei Yang and explained, ”Brother Wei, this is Zi Yan — she has a simple and straightforward nature, don’t take it to heart.”

Before Wei Yang could say anything, Zi Yan poked her little head out from behind Xiao Yan, waved her tiny fist, and shouted, ”Hey! I’m talking to you! Hurry up and tell the truth, or else I’ll beat— mmmph!”

Before she could finish, Xiao Yan quickly covered her mouth with his hand, so that she could only shake her little head resentfully, her body wriggling in an attempt to struggle free.

”Zi Yan, do you still remember what you promised me before we came here? That you’d listen to me in everything! If you keep this up, I’ll send you back right away.” Xiao Yan threatened her in a low voice.

”Uuuh...”

Hearing this, Zi Yan instantly deflated.

After all these years, she had long been tired of staying in the Inner Academy. Now that she finally had the chance to go out on an adventure, she naturally cherished it greatly.

Therefore, this girl who usually feared neither heaven nor earth chose to compromise.

She didn’t speak, nor did she struggle anymore, but simply glared resentfully at Wei Yang with her light purple eyes, unwilling to give in.

Seeing this, Xiao Yan felt a massive headache, nearly unable to resist turning back and sending Zi Yan straight back to the Inner Academy.

As for Zi Yan’s fighting power, Xiao Yan actually valued it quite a lot.

Although the little girl could be a bit troublesome, there was no doubt about her strength. Over two years ago, she could already use her brute strength to go toe-to-toe with Fan Lao.

And now, after more than two years had passed, her terrifying monster strength had probably grown even more.

That kind of raw power — even a Dou Huang would find it difficult to take head-on.

Seeing everyone’s eyes filled with concern toward him, Wei Yang couldn’t help but feel both amused and helpless.

Why did everyone seem to think he would hold a grudge against a little girl?

Was he that sort of person?

Let alone Zi Yan’s special identity, which meant Wei Yang was already quite tolerant of her, even if she had been an ordinary little girl, he wouldn’t have taken offense.

Wei Yang first waved his hand toward everyone, signaling that it was fine, then turned his gaze to Zi Yan.

Looking at her angry, glaring, yet rather cute appearance, Wei Yang couldn’t help but smile, and asked gently, ”You little girl, you’re quite brave, aren’t you afraid I might get angry?”

”Tch, I’m not scared of you.”

Zi Yan broke free of Xiao Yan, one hand on her waist, the other waving her small fist at Wei Yang, but her voice, despite her act, sounded a bit lacking in confidence.

However, on the surface, she refused to back down at all.

Wei Yang couldn’t help but laugh again — this little she-dragon.

He nodded in approval, and said, ”Mm, I can tell. You really aren’t afraid of me.”

”Of course not.”

Hearing Wei Yang’s words, a look of pride immediately appeared on Zi Yan’s little face, then she said earnestly, ”Of course, you’re not weak either... um, just a tiny bit stronger than me.”

As she spoke, she even solemnly stretched out her finger and carefully made a small gesture, ”Mm, just a little bit.”

”Hah.”

At this, even Wei Yang and Medusa almost couldn’t hold back their laughter.

At the same time, seeing that Wei Yang truly wasn’t angry, everyone secretly let out a breath of relief.

After all, such a cute little girl, even if she was a bit mischievous and willful, would generally be easily forgiven.

In fact, although Zi Yan was simple and naive, she wasn’t really stupid.

After all, magic beasts have an extremely keen sense of danger — especially a pure-blooded Ancient Void Dragon like Zi Yan, even more so.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have survived all on her own as a newly hatched dragon in a region crawling with magic beasts.

The reason she dared to act so brazenly toward Wei Yang was because, by instinct, she did not sense any malice from him. Instead, there was a faint sense of kindness.

It was precisely this natural instinct that gave her the courage to question Wei Yang so directly.

Of course, her poor way of expressing herself was what caused this misunderstanding.

Wei Yang shifted his posture, turned fully to face Zi Yan, and spoke gently, ”Now, let me answer your question from earlier — yes, we did meet before, more than two years ago, at the Inner Academy.”

”You!”

Hearing this, Zi Yan’s eyes immediately widened, and she shouted, ”It was you!”
