**

A layer of light enveloped the top of the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower.

Everyone fell silent, watching intently.

On the Black-Corner Region’s side—

Han Feng’s eyes flickered as his gaze vaguely locked onto Xiao Yan in the distance.

Thoughts surged in his heart.

”This youth managed to defeat a Four-Star Dou Huang like Fan Lao. Even if one discounts the elemental advantage and the assistance of those three allies, his own strength must be around the level of a Five-Star Dou Huang. If I were to meet him alone, I could definitely defeat him.”

Han Feng had absolute confidence in this.

Xiao Yan possessed a Heavenly Flame—so did he.

And the Sea Heart Flame ranked even higher.

As for Xiao Yan seemingly possessing a powerful Earth Grade Dou Technique?

Han Feng was unconcerned. As a peak Tier 6 alchemist, he refined pills for others regularly and naturally reaped many true treasures in return. Moreover, given his background and origins, Earth Grade Dou Techniques that others considered precious were nothing special to him.

”I’ll need to find a way to learn more about this youth’s origins, and then seize the opportunity to capture him,” Han Feng plotted silently.

He wanted the Fallen Heart Flame.

He also wanted the Green Lotus Core Flame.

As long as it was a Heavenly Flame, Han Feng wouldn’t let it go.

In the distance—

Xiao Yan suddenly sensed something and sharply turned his gaze in that direction.

Their eyes met across the battlefield—within that gaze, a chilling killing intent flickered, one that only they themselves could understand.

Xiao Yan slowly clenched his fingers into a tight fist.

In his heart, Han Feng had to die—whether for the sake of cleansing the sect or because of Flame Mantra.

At that moment, Yao Lao’s faint voice quietly echoed in his mind:

”Stay calm. Ignore him. That Brat Wei likely already has a plan.”

”Right now, your focus should be on the Fallen Heart Flame. That traitorous disciple is not weak, and he’s surrounded by many powerful allies. Even if I were to possess you and unleash my full strength, we wouldn’t gain the upper hand. Worse, we might even expose my existence.”

”And every bit of my strength used is one bit less I’ll have later. So it’s best saved for dealing with the Fallen Heart Flame.”

”As for that traitor, let Wei handle him.”

”Alright,” Xiao Yan gritted his teeth and nodded. His tightly clenched fist slowly loosened, suppressing the killing intent in his heart.

He still knew how to weigh the priorities.

Taking a deep breath, Xiao Yan turned his gaze back toward the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower, the fiery desire in his heart beginning to burn even hotter.

The Fallen Heart Flame—this was the most important thing right now. It was also the key to whether he could quickly step into the Dou Wang level.

No matter what—it must be his!

While everyone harbored their own thoughts—

Buzz~

The sealing formation controlled by Su Qian once again released a powerful radiance.

But just as the light reached its peak, the Fallen Heart Flame, almost as if intentionally choosing the moment, exploded forth—right at the completion of the sealing array.

The long-silent tip of the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower finally let out a piercing shriek—

Screeeech~!

In an instant, the soundwave—so tangible it seemed material—rippled outward in waves, rapidly spreading and devastating the already ravaged surroundings into further ruin.

At the moment the shriek rang out, its massive body also burst forth amid a thunderous boom, shocking everyone present.

Boom!

Endless invisible flames surged like a storm, violently slamming into the surrounding energy barriers.

Under such a powerful impact, ripples rapidly appeared on the energy shields—and soon, cracks even began to show signs of forming.

At the moment of collision, many of the elders turned slightly pale.

Their auras also became visibly weaker.

”So this is the Heavenly Flame of the Inner Academy? My god, it’s already evolved into a physical form?!”

Seeing the massive, sky-dominating invisible fire python for the first time, the experts from the Black-Corner Region couldn’t help but cry out in alarm, faces filled with shock.

The Invisible Fire Python, stretching dozens of meters long and occupying nearly half the sky, radiated an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Han Feng was also violently shaken by the sheer size of the Fallen Heart Flame’s true body.

But right after that, he couldn’t hide the wild joy flooding his face.

With such an enormous form, the vast energy contained within it was simply immeasurable!

If he could refine and devour it successfully, breaking through to Dou Zong would be guaranteed. He might even leap forward several stars—it likely wouldn’t be a problem at all!

Screeech—!

That strange, ear-piercing cry echoed across the sky once more.

The invisible fire python seemed to have realized that the seal was about to break. With a fierce lash of its massive tail, its huge body streaked through the air like lightning. Carrying a force that made space itself tremble, it slammed ferociously into a section of the energy net.

Crack—!

With this powerful collision, the energy shield that was already rippling violently let out a sharp, brittle sound as if it could no longer bear the load.

Immediately after, under the horrified gazes of the gathered elders, fine cracks suddenly appeared—then spread rapidly like a spiderweb—covering the entire section of the energy barrier.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

Several elders immediately coughed up blood and staggered backward.

Even Su Qian’s body wavered slightly. His hands trembled as he stared at the barrier, which was now covered in fractures and on the verge of collapse. His face looked terribly grim, and he sighed powerlessly.

He knew—the seal had failed.

What the Fallen Heart Flame had done was no different from a psychological execution.

It had deliberately waited, waited until the sealing formation was fully formed before violently breaking free—just to ruthlessly slap the face of Jia Nan Academy.

To completely plunge them into despair.

Boom!

With another brutal headbutt from the massive invisible fire python, the cracked and crumbling energy shield could no longer hold.

Crash—!

In an instant, energy fragments exploded in all directions. Like a shattered bowl, the dome-like energy shield disintegrated completely in a blink.

Screeeech—!

As the barrier was shattered, a wild and ecstatic roar erupted from the terrifying mouth of the fire python, like a thunderclap splitting the sky.

Its massive body soared into the air, weaving and coiling freely through the void in sheer joy.

The terrifying pressure it exuded, along with the searing invisible flame that twisted and distorted the space around it, brought a heavy, suffocating weight down on everyone present.

Now that it had broken free of its bindings and regained true freedom, the invisible fire python didn’t choose to flee immediately.

Instead, it coiled in the air, then suddenly twisted its enormous head.

Its cold, sinister serpent eyes locked firmly onto Xiao Yan and Han Feng.

In its gaze, a disturbingly human-like expression of undisguised greed and hunger appeared.

This unexpected move from the invisible fire python stunned everyone present.

Their gazes followed its line of sight—landing on Xiao Yan and Han Feng.

When they saw the twin flames rising from the two—one green and one blue—they suddenly understood.

But along with that realization came a slightly absurd and amused sense of shock.

Who would have thought that the very first thing the Fallen Heart Flame would do upon escaping was to set its sights on those who had come to capture it?

The roles of hunter and prey... had clearly reversed.

Wei Yang couldn’t help but smile wryly at the sight, feeling both amused and speechless at the creature’s boldness and greed.

But then again—it was understandable.

This was purely an instinctual reaction.

It was well known that Heavenly Flames had incredibly slow growth cycles. It took countless years of tempering and evolution for them to gradually grow stronger.

However, there was a shortcut.

They could devour other Heavenly Flames to achieve rapid evolution and growth.

Especially for some lower-ranked Heavenly Flames—once they reached their natural limit, it was extremely difficult for them to break through further by merely waiting.

In such cases, if a Heavenly Flame wished to surpass its limit and continue growing, it had to consume other Heavenly Flames—or extremely rare natural treasures—to break through its bottleneck.

Just like now—with the Fallen Heart Flame.

If it could devour both the Green Lotus Core Flame and the Sea Heart Flame, it could undergo a terrifying growth spurt in a very short period.
