Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 48: Chapter 47: Insect Nest Mind Network and Plotting

”Divine Sense?” Qin Yu wondered in surprise. However, upon careful thought, he found it to be completely normal.

The so-called Divine Sense was nothing more than Mental Force and Soul Force. As the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, why could he command such a massive Insect Swarm? Naturally, it was because as the numbers of the Insect Swarm increased, its Mind Network also grew increasingly vast. Because of this, the initial communication range of the Mind Network, which had been about a hundred kilometers, had expanded significantly.

It was entirely foreseeable that this power would continue to increase. The stronger the Insect Swarm became, the stronger the Dominator of the Insect Swarm would be. This empowerment would be comprehensive.

After roughly scanning the items inside the Space Ring and spotting a few Jade Scrolls, along with some books, Weapons, clothing, and other miscellaneous items, Qin Yu formulated a thought.

Did the words of Li Wanqing and the others make sense? They certainly did. As the saying went, it was easier to find shelter under a mighty oak. Joining them would indeed yield many benefits. Setting aside the backing and background, the various resources such as Secret Techniques and treasures alone were highly tempting.

The Demon Suppression Bureau was different from Sects and Noble Families. To join a Sect, one had to undergo various assessments to verify their loyalty before having any chance to obtain resources and receive cultivation support. The Demon Suppression Bureau, on the other hand, was all about killing Demon Fiends and Demons! By completing tasks, one could earn enough Merit Points to exchange for whatever they needed. It could be described as simple and crude.

In comparison, the Demon Suppression Bureau was indeed suitable for him. Slaying ordinary Demon Fiends with the Insect Swarm Power was not difficult for him, allowing him to amass Merit Points easily.

But every advantage had a disadvantage. Whether he joined the Demon Suppression Bureau or a Sect, he could not possibly be as free as he was now. Joining the Demon Suppression Bureau might require him to go to Bishui City or even the County City. This was something Qin Yu simply could not accept right now.

As for the threat of the Blood Demon Sect? He had been mentally prepared for it the moment he made his move. The resources near Snake Valley were extremely rich, and he didn’t plan to pass them up. Later, when members of the Blood Demon Sect came to explore, the risk of him being exposed would be immense anyway. It was just that the addition of the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance made this threat even greater. But how much greater? That was still unknown.

Besides, even if the Blood Demon Sect didn’t come looking for him, he would go looking for them!

A gleam of murderous intent flashed in Qin Yu’s eyes, and his knuckles tightened. He hadn’t expected there to be such a hidden story behind his grandfather’s death in battle! Since childhood, his grandfather had taught him to read and practice Martial Arts, guiding him onto the path of Martial Arts, and had even died in battle to protect him. How could he not avenge a blood feud as deep as a Blood Sea? Everyone involved had to die!

However, times had changed. Investigating the hidden truths of the past wouldn’t be easy, and he lacked the strength to go on a mindless killing spree. So, after pondering for a moment, Qin Yu looked down at the group below and spoke.

”I am deeply grateful for your appreciation, and I also yearn for the Demon Suppression Bureau. However, this is not the place to talk, and everyone is carrying injuries. How about we return to Cyan Peak County before discussing further?”

Li Wanqing, Chen Sheying, Zhao Zhenshan, and the others exchanged glances, seeing a hint of joy in each other’s eyes. In their view, Qin Yu was tempted.

This was indeed not the place for a conversation. Blood-colored mist permeated the air, and corpses were piled high. Both Qin Yu and the rest of them were injured and in urgent need of healing. Of course, they also understood Qin Yu’s apprehension. Out in the desolate mountains and wild forests, if Qin Yu landed and they turned hostile to snatch the treasures, he would undoubtedly die. After all, these were treasures left behind by a Primordial Mansion Realm cultivator! That Space Ring alone was invaluable. To say they weren’t tempted would be a lie.

Inside the town, things would be different. As members of the Demon Suppression Bureau, they couldn’t just casually attack and rob people.

”Alright!” Li Wanqing said. ”Then we’ll see you in Cyan Peak County!”

Qin Yu cupped his hands in a salute. The Black Thorn Eagle beneath him flapped its wings and soared high, flying toward Scorpion Demon Mountain.

”Having a flying mount is truly convenient! I didn’t expect the Qin Family to be hiding their depth so well,” Zhao Zhenshan noted, looking at the departing Qin Yu with considerable envy.

Flight! This was something only Qi Sea Realm experts who had opened the body’s Qi Veins and connected with the heaven and earth could achieve. Yet, even they could only fly for a short duration, and their flight speed wasn’t considered fast. Relying on this flying mount and his superb Archery Skill, Qin Yu had rendered Li Tianyi, whose Qi and Blood was like a Dragon, completely helpless against him. If Qin Yu joined the Demon Suppression Bureau, setting everything else aside, just these twenty-odd flying mounts would cause members within the Bureau to fight tooth and nail over them.

”Heh, I also didn’t expect the Qin Family to have such a foundation.” Zhang Shun, who had remained silent the entire time, looked toward the valley. Down there, the Rapid Insects were surrounding and wiping out the residual Snake Demons and devouring their flesh and blood, alongside the Profound Armor Barbarian Bear with its astonishing combat power. If they had possessed these combat forces during their previous campaign to exterminate the Blazing Flame Tiger Demon, how could it have been so perilous?

”Let’s clean up the battlefield first. I will take Li Tianyi’s corpse away. As for the rest, help yourselves,” Li Wanqing said, her eyes flickering. Such Beast Taming and control techniques were indeed powerful. It seemed the Qin Family hadn’t just obtained the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance, but also other Beast Taming Skills.

”Alright!” Immediately, the group rushed quickly toward the black palace. The Purple Poison Scorpion had only taken away a single Space Ring; there might still be other treasures inside. Moreover, whether it was the corpse of the Ink Green Snake King on the battlefield or the Materials on the other Qi and Blood Great Demons, they were all of considerable value.

The Black Thorn Eagle spread its wings and slowly landed.

Qin Yu barely managed to slide off its back. He unequipped his broken Purple Vine Bow and, leaning on a Rapid Insect, stumbled into the belly of the mountain, sitting cross-legged on the Fungal Mat around the Insect Nest.

The moment he sat down, the Fungal Mat extended countless dense, thread-like tentacles that firmly wrapped around him. They grew tighter and tighter until he was encased like a bug egg. Along the countless threads, streams of warm energy surged into Qin Yu’s body. The energy began to repair his severely damaged physical form caused by the eruption of the Power of Dominator. This healing speed was incredibly fast; his internal injuries mended at a visible rate.

As the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, his body had been modified when he received the inheritance, significantly improving his digestion and self-healing abilities. However, with such severe injuries, relying solely on his self-healing abilities would take at least ten days to half a month to fully recover. But with the assistance of the Insect Nest, in just over an hour, when Qin Yu opened his eyes inside the egg, he was mostly healed. Only a few superficial wounds from the eruption remained, which he had intentionally left untouched.

”Phew...” Feeling the tearing pain gradually subsiding within his body, Qin Yu exhaled a breath of stale air. ”This Power of Dominator takes too great a toll on the body. Perhaps I should go find a suitable Body Refining Secret Technique. Only a powerful body can control this berserk energy.”

In the inheritance of the Insect Swarm, there was actually a solution to this problem: deeply integrating the excellent genes of other species from the Insect Nest. However, the consequence could be the emergence of an exoskeleton on his body, causing him to be covered in spikes, Scale Armor, and the like, thus losing his human appearance. Qin Yu had not truly mastered genetic optimization; he relied entirely on the inherent capabilities of the Insect Nest. Naturally, he wouldn’t consider such a completely uncontrollable method for the time being.

Give up his humanity? Unless forced into a desperate situation, Qin Yu definitely wouldn’t consider it. After all, he still had a family. The true rulers of this world were also humans!

Through the Mind Network of the Insect Swarm, Qin Yu gazed into Snake Valley. The five members of the Demon Suppression Bureau had left, and only a hundred or so members of the Insect Swarm remained in the entire valley, along with the corpses littering the ground!

”Find a suitable place to incubate the fourth Insect Nest and absorb all the flesh and blood!” A hint of fanaticism flashed in Qin Yu’s eyes.

Immediately, Worker Insects burrowed into the mostly collapsed valley, transforming into eggs as the purple Fungal Mat spread out. The remaining Worker Insects, Rapid Insects, and others placed the flesh and blood of the snake corpses onto the Fungal Mat. The flesh and blood melted at a visible rate, and the Insect Nest pulsated vigorously like a beating heart, growing rapidly.

With the mountain of snake corpses piled up in this valley, the number of Insect Swarm units would directly break the one thousand mark, elevating their combat power to an astonishing level. He could also analyze and breed more species of the Insect Swarm, bringing the vast surrounding areas under his control. And with the breeding of so many Insect Swarm units, his own strength would further improve through the feedback. Perhaps he could even break through the Qi and Blood Realm, allowing the Insect Swarm to undergo a qualitative transformation.

Even if the Blood Demon Sect attacked again, he would truly have the power to resist, rather than relying on a near-suicidal eruption like this time.

After doing all this, he finally turned his gaze to the Coiled Snake Ring handed over by the Purple Poison Scorpion, looking specifically at the Jade Scrolls inside.

”Let me see if you can give me a surprise!”
