Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 43: Chapter 42: Advance! Slaughter Under the Will of the Insect Nest

”Qin Yu?”

The confusion in the eyes of Li Wanqing, Zhao Zhenshan, and the others became increasingly apparent. They had all read the mission file submitted by Zhang Shun. Wasn’t this so-called Qin Family of Cyan Peak County just a minor clan from a remote, small county?

Could it be a branch of the ’Celestial Wind’ Qin Family? Even if they were a branch, it naturally meant they were separated from the main family. Yet, the Cyan Peak County’s Qin Family did not even have a single Qi and Blood Realm Martial Artist! Although the file stated that the Qin Family excelled at nurturing War Beasts, they had only deployed twenty Muscle Refining Realm War Beasts in that previous battle. That was completely incomparable to the overwhelming Insect Swarm charging before their very eyes!

The Profound Armor Barbarian Bears roared. Even Qi and Blood Realm Snake Demons were sent flying by their head-on collisions. What was most terrifying, however, was the coordination within the Insect Swarm. It was fluid and flawless. The Profound Armor Barbarian Bears charged to clear the path, while the Rapid Insects slaughtered and reaped the lives of their foes. The leading Rapid Insects tore the Snake Demons apart with scythe-like claws. They completely ignored any incoming attacks, naturally trusting the other Rapid Insects to block the strikes for them.

And this was during a high-speed charge! Faced with such an Insect Swarm, would a mere Qi and Blood Realm Tiger Demon really require such a difficult fight? A single charge would probably have ended the battle.

”This is simply a weapon of slaughter!”

High above in the sky, Qin Yu looked down coldly.

When he saw Li Wanqing and the others burst out from underground, he did not retreat. After all, there was no turning back now. He had only waited for a moment to observe the valley terrain formed after the landslide. Once the ground forces of the Insect Swarm arrived nearby, he made a few tactical arrangements and directly launched the attack!

The Insect Swarm surged. Centered around five heavily armored Profound Armor Barbarian Bears, the swarm ploughed straight into the fray like a battlefield bulldozer.

The valley was long and narrow, but it wasn’t very wide. The sky-blotting poisonous snakes and Snake Demons struck the bodies of the Profound Armor Barbarian Bears, only to be directly crushed. Some tried to bite and inject venom. However, the bears’ bodies had been fused with a massive amount of Profound Iron Essence. They possessed true Steel Bones and were completely unafraid of ordinary attacks.

Beyond that, the most terrifying aspect of the Insect Swarm was their ability to communicate instantaneously through the Mind Network. Amidst the battlefield slaughter, the rear Insect Nest provided super-computing support. The greater the number in the swarm, the more terrifying they became on the battlefield.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Drawing the Purple Soaring Bow, Armor-Breaking Arrows rained down from the sky, landing precisely along the Insect Swarm’s charging path. The more powerful Bone Forging Realm Snake Demons among the horde had their skulls and vital spots pierced right through.

Although he was just one person, the Armor-Breaking Arrows falling from the sky resembled a torrential rain. Every single shot was fatal! It was like the Grim Reaper reaping lives, making the Insect Swarm’s charge increasingly effortless.

Of course, Qin Yu couldn’t possibly shoot down all the Snake Demons, and casualties inevitably appeared within the Insect Swarm. However, under the precise calculations of the Insect Nest in the rear, if a Rapid Insect was heavily injured and its combat effectiveness affected, it would immediately retreat, and another Rapid Insect would seamlessly take its place. It was like an immensely powerful battlefield micro-management master perfectly controlling the combat trajectory of every single Rapid Insect.

Given the Rapid Insects’ formidable regenerative abilities, as long as they devoured some flesh and blood on the battlefield, ordinary injuries would quickly heal, restoring their combat prowess. And right now, the battlefield lacked anything but flesh and blood! Under such highly efficient slaughter, ordinary poisonous snakes and Snake Demons could not compare at all. Even with numbers several times that of the Insect Swarm, they could only face a one-sided massacre.

SCREECH—

The Black Thorn Eagles cried out, diving down from the sky at extreme speeds. Their supersonic charge made their talons terrifying to the extreme. With powerful flaps of their wings, they instantly grabbed massive Snake Demons, lifted them into the air, and then smashed them straight down from high above!

BOOM!

Flesh and blood splattered, throwing the already panicked and chaotic snake horde into further disarray. Some even outright began to flee. Fear was the innate nature of life. Birds of prey like Golden Eagles and Red-bellied Eagles were the natural predators and nemeses of snakes. Not to mention Black Thorn Eagles that had been assimilated by the Insect Race!

The Insect Swarm’s charging speed did not wane as they drew closer to the five Demon Suppression Bureau members deeper in the valley. But the pressure was also mounting.

Under Li Tianyi’s commands, most of the Qi and Blood Realm Great Demons in Snake Valley were besieging the five Demon Suppression Bureau members. The quality of the snakes on the periphery was noticeably a tier lower. When a large number of Snake Demons comparable to the Bone Forging Realm, and even the Qi and Blood Realm, hissed and charged at the Insect Swarm, the swarm’s casualties sharply spiked. Especially when a massive, ten-zhang-long Great Demon with Qi and Blood Like a Bear entangled with a Profound Armor Barbarian Bear, the charging formation of the swarm broke, and their speed plummeted. The battlefield fully descended into a chaotic melee.

High above in the sky, Qin Yu rapidly fired the Purple Vine Bow in his hands. However, ordinary Armor-Breaking Arrows struggled to penetrate the protective blood mist of the Snake Demons, making it impossible to secure instant kills. Qin Yu’s eyes flashed. He wanted to unleash the power within his body, but he held back.

This was a method of power utilization he had discovered while commanding the swarm’s strength as it grew day by day. The Insect Swarm was an extension of his limbs, so their power naturally belonged to him as well. Through the swarm’s Mind Network, he could forcefully channel the Qi Blood of the Insect Swarm units into his own body! If he did that, he could unleash significantly stronger power for a short duration. But the price was damage to his own physical body.

Upon discovering this ability, he had tested it briefly. It left his entire body aching, right down to his muscles and bones, but the effect was truly astonishing—the power he could unleash instantly skyrocketed several times over. It was a desperate measure meant only for critical, life-or-death moments.

His gaze shifted to the five Demon Suppression Bureau members. High-end combat power! The Insect Swarm lacked Qi and Blood Realm units, but weren’t the five people right in front of him exactly that?

Without hesitation, Qin Yu rode a Black Thorn Eagle, whistling through the sky, and shouted loudly to the five Demon Suppression Bureau members surrounded by the snake horde.

”You handle the Qi and Blood Realm Great Demons! Leave the rest to the Insect Swarm! The Insect Swarm won’t attack you!”

”Alright!” Zhao Zhenshan was overjoyed and responded repeatedly. Zhang Shun had already told him about Qin Yu, and having witnessed the swarm’s formidable might with his own eyes, he shared the same sentiment. ”Little Brother Qin! Can you have your flying Fierce Beast take my brother to a safe place first? He’s been poisoned by Li Tianyi’s snake venom and can no longer fight!”

SWOOSH—

As soon as he spoke, a Black Thorn Eagle swooped down from the sky just above their heads, retracting its sharp talons. The implication was self-evident.

”Go!” Zhao Zhenshan growled lowly at Lin Jianqing, who was being protected behind him. Amidst the fierce battle, a black aura had spread across Lin Jianqing’s face, making it obvious that the poison had already flared up. The venom was extremely foul. If he didn’t mobilize his Qi Blood, it was manageable, but once he did, the poison spread faster.

”Captain, I...” Lin Jianqing’s expression was ugly. The great battle hadn’t even ended, yet he had become a burden.

”Stop dawdling! Go!”

WHOOSH!

Lin Jianqing opened his mouth but said nothing more. Gritting his teeth, he leaped into the air and grabbed the Black Thorn Eagle’s talons. The Black Thorn Eagle immediately soared into the sky.

”I’ll go kill Li Tianyi. You guys work with the Insect Swarm to deal with these Snake Demons!” Li Wanqing immediately flew out. Stepping on the protruding boulders along the cliffs effortlessly, she lashed out with her Spirit Snake Whip and charged straight toward Li Tianyi.

With the Insect Swarm’s charge drawing the attention of most of the Snake Demons, the pressure on the rest of the Demon Suppression Bureau squad was significantly alleviated. With Lin Jianqing temporarily out of danger, she could finally free up her hands to assassinate Li Tianyi.

Zhao Zhenshan let out an explosive shout, his body erupting with Qi Blood like a Divine Dragon protecting him. Roaring repeatedly, he charged toward the Insect Swarm, his spear thrusting like a soaring dragon to pierce through the bodies of the Snake Demons.

Chen Sheying and Zhang Shun closely followed behind, wielding their Long Sabers to cleave out zhang-long saber glares as they charged toward the Insect Swarm’s direction.

They could also see the Insect Swarm’s strengths and weaknesses. Against ordinary Snake Demons and weaker Qi and Blood Realm Great Demons, the swarm’s killing efficiency was extremely high. However, when facing the stronger Qi and Blood Snake Demons, they were noticeably lacking in power, and their casualties increased rapidly.

Watching from afar, Li Tianyi’s face turned completely gloomy, twisting into an expression of madness and brutality.

”The Qin Family of Cyan Peak County? A measly Body Forging Martial Artist dares to ruin my plans?”

As his words fell, a Serpent Short Sword fiercely shot out from his hand, tearing through the air as it rocketed toward Qin Yu in the sky.
