Capítulo 1603: Chapter 1637: Stop Joking, How Could This Chicken Be Called a Phoenix

As expected… there’s no avoiding one’s destined enemies.

Upon entering, Beiming Huang was inside reading and painting.

But Beiming Lan, that mischievous girl, was nowhere to be found. As a result, these two locked eyes and neither could stand the sight of the other.

“Hello, young lady.” To show his magnanimity, Lin Zifeng took the initiative to greet her.

Beiming Huang barely lifted her head to glance at him briefly, then went back to her book.

“Tch~ acting so aloof and haughty.” Lin Zifeng scoffed at her. Since she ignored him, why should he flatter her unnecessarily?

Damned guy, why did Lanlan bring him back again? Hadn’t he already left? Didn’t he leave Yanjing already? Why bring him to my home?

Just seeing him raises my blood pressure. You better not provoke me, or I’ll make sure you suffer, Beiming Huang-style!

Since Beiming Huang ignored him, and there was no one else at home to greet him,

why should he pretend to be polite? He went straight to the fridge and started scavenging for food. Coming from Zhonghai and then going with Beiming Lan to the auction, he was already starving.

If he doesn’t replenish now, when Beiming Yu comes back, there’ll be no food left.

“Snap~”

The sound of a can opening made Beiming Huang’s cool brows twitch with irritation. She looked up to see the guy lounging against the fridge, casually eating bread and drinking a beverage, as if it were his own home.

“Damn!”

Beiming Huang gritted her teeth in anger. Last time, Lin Zifeng had mistaken her for a servant and nearly pulled her pants down. This grudge lingered in Beiming Huang’s heart, and if it weren’t for her mother telling her not to bother him, she’d have had him beaten up by now.

“Mm-hmm, not bad, not bad. If this pizza had sugar instead of salt, it would taste even better.” He leaned against the fridge, offhandedly critiquing the pizza that Beiming Huang had personally cooked.

Hearing this comment from his mouth, Beiming Huang couldn’t focus on her book anymore, almost growing feathers from anger.

Her lips twitched, her face turned pale, and her fingers clenched the book corner until it creaked…

But she held her anger in.

For Beiming Huang, her temperament was entirely different from her sister, Beiming Lan.

Beiming Huang was the sort who loved using books as pillows, a hopeless literati girl. To put it nicely, she’s an artistic young lady; put plainly, she’s a stubborn literati.

Gentle, shy, preferring quiet to noise.

She was Beiming Yu’s proudest daughter…

“Mm-hmm, this is not bad. But, unfortunately, its appearance is really poor. If the shape was more conventional, without any novel tricks, it would be fine.”

Lin Zifeng was holding a piece of egg roll. As the name suggests, an egg roll is supposed to be rolled up, but this egg roll looked more like an egg bun.

Poorly rated, very poorly rated.

Beiming Huang’s pretty face grew even paler, like frost in December, as she heard this comment, wishing she could tear apart the clueless pretender!

Actually, the reason Lin Zifeng gave such critique was because he genuinely didn’t know these pastries were Beiming Huang’s handiwork. Had he known, he wouldn’t have dared to eat them, no way…

“If you don’t want to eat, then don’t eat.”

Beiming Huang finally lost patience with his insincere feedback.

Women often like to hear some flattering praises. Yet, Lin Zifeng’s words were blunt.

“What? Do you want to eat too?”

Lin Zifeng held a piece of egg roll, thinking she wanted some too.

Well, maybe she was hungry and craving, seeing him eating.

“Eat, eat, eat! All you know is eat, eat, eat. I’m not eating. You eat it yourself.” Beiming Huang was so furious her chest shook wildly, it was like she was in considerable—

“…” Lin Zifeng was clueless.

My God~ it’s just a piece of egg roll, no need to go berserk like that, right? Seems like Beiming Yu is already conniving enough, but why is his daughter so stingy?

While Beiming Lan tends to be wasteful, she’s quite generous.

They both share the same mother, yet what a huge contrast!

“Okay, if you won’t eat, I will.”

Lin Zifeng’s eyes showed helplessness. He came to discuss cooperation with Beiming Yu, and angering the young lady would make future cooperation difficult.

So Lin Zifeng thought it best to humor her.

Thus, he sauntered over to the sofa, prepared to rest for a while.

Beiming Huang stole a glance at him. When Lin Zifeng looked her way, it frightened her, and she quickly lowered her head, her face turning rosy…

“Oh? The young lady is drawing?”

Then Lin Zifeng started looking around and found several completed paintings on Beiming Huang’s desk. He was puzzled by the images.

Beiming Huang ignored him, continuing with her book.

“Hmm? Uh… this featherless chicken drawing is rather bad, isn’t it? At least add a few more strokes, maybe give it some feathers. A fine featherless chicken jumping out of the fire pit!” He tried to compliment Beiming Huang to earn some goodwill.

Honestly, this featherless chicken jumping out of fire was an eyesore!

“You… which of your eyes sees this as a featherless chicken?”

Beiming Huang jumped up abruptly.

“I see it with both eyes.” Lin Zifeng answered truthfully.

“You… this is not a featherless chicken; this is the Phoenix Rebirth from Fire painting!” Beiming Huang glared, thinking which planet this guy hailed from.

“Oh shit! This, this is a Phoenix? This is the Phoenix Rebirth from Fire painting?” Lin Zifeng blinked incredulously, refusing to believe: “I mean, young lady, though I’m poorly read and haven’t studied art, I’m not blind. Look for yourself, no matter how I look at it, this featherless chicken doesn’t resemble a Phoenix! Even if you insist it’s a Phoenix, this featherless chicken doesn’t have a single feather, and it’s jumping out of the fire pit. You call that rebirth from fire? I think its butt is on fire and it’s crying for help!” Lin Zifeng pointed at the so-called featherless chicken, its head raised, looking pained, totally unrelated to the Phoenix rebirth story.

Just try selling this painting technique, tsk tsk, it’s hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

“You… you… don’t you dare touch my painting. You have no right to critique my art!”

Beiming Huang was so angry she was shaking, her chest heaving. Lin Zifeng’s eyes were practically glued to the sight.

“Uh… you drew it?” Lin Zifeng flushed, realizing he might have misspoken. Had he known it was her work, he’d have kept his mouth shut…

“Clomp, clomp, clomp…”

Beiming Huang clutched her book and turned away coldly. There was no common language with such people. “Goodbye then!”

“Oh no! Best if we never meet again!”
