Urban All-Round Master

Capítulo 1595: Chapter 1629: Having Consort Zhang Is Enough—How Could I Dare Have More!

“Zhang Jie, are you looking for me?” As soon as Lin Zifeng entered the office, Zhang Mengjie was busy and overwhelmed. She was sorting through a large pile of documents in front of her.

It was clear that dealing with company affairs was keeping her quite busy.

“Young Master Lin, you’re here. Please sit down.” Zhang Mengjie smiled slightly, clearly burdened by the recent long nights of overtime, meetings, and handling documents. All the workload was accumulating on her shoulders.

Originally, Nangong Bing had offered to take on some of these complicated tasks, but Zhang Mengjie insisted on completing them herself.

Nangong Bing was also buried under work, as she not only had to deal with posthumous arrangements for the victims at Tianyu Group, but also had to prepare strategic plans for the division’s incursion into Yanjing.

“Looking at you now, you must be very busy, right?” Lin Zifeng felt for her, but could offer no help. He had almost no understanding of the commercial world.

“Of course, I’m busy. What do you think? That I’m like you, lounging around all day?” Zhang Mengjie poured him a glass of water, then sat on his lap, taking a few sips of her own.

“Hey, Zhang Jie, it turns out the water you poured wasn’t for me to drink?”

Mid-sentence, his Demon Claw unhesitatingly reached into Zhang Mengjie’s embrace, seeking that soft warmth, only to be stopped as Zhang Mengjie quickly stood up.

“If you want to drink, pour it yourself. I’m not your wife~”

Wow~ Look at that, this woman even speaks with sarcasm~ What’s her beef with me? Is something bothering her that I can’t satisfy? Lin Zifeng chuckled bitterly, slapped his thigh, stood up, and said, “Zhang Jie, what you said is wrong here. What do you mean you’re not my wife? Are there hidden meanings in your words?”

“Tsk~ No way, the young master of Huayu Group, the master of South Heavenly Gate, and the widely respected Death God. Just these three titles can crush me, how dare I offend you?”

Her words carried much meaning between the lines.

“Okay, stop messing around. Let’s talk business. I might go to Yanjing tomorrow, and the matters here in Zhonghai will rely on you. For now, let’s not touch Huayu Group. I’ll first solve things in Yanjing.”

“The agreement with Beiming Family is reached?”

“Yes.”

“And, they didn’t add any conditions?” Zhang Mengjie lightly set down the cup. This seemed unreliable. Rationally speaking, given Beiming Family’s influence, if they don’t negotiate some terms and get benefits, why would they help Huayu Group with such a big favor?

“Fifty percent of Huayu Group’s shares in Yanjing!” Lin Zifeng did not hide it, directly revealing Beiming Yu’s outrageous demand.

“Bang!”

“What!”

Startled, Zhang Mengjie stood up, slamming the cup down on the desk. Her eyes widened with feigned anger, she said, “That Beiming Yu actually wants fifty percent of Huayu in Yanjing? She’s outrageous! It’s just a nominal cooperation, and if anything happens in Yanjing, Beiming Family might not even lend a hand. Asking for fifty percent of the shares outright, that woman is too damn ruthless!”

“What can I do? She agreed to meet all our demands in Yanjing. If we don’t give her the fifty percent, she won’t cooperate with our Huayu Group~”

It’s not just Zhang Mengjie feeling indignant, Lin Zifeng didn’t like it either. This is fifty percent of the shares! The whole Yanjing market is neither large nor small.

“If Huayu Group dominates alone, that fifty percent would hold significant value.

Currently, with various family-owned groups in Yanjing, Huayu Group won’t have substantial assets upon entry, but even a small ant has meat. This Beiming Yu’s demand is too harsh.

Fifty percent of the shares! With Huayu not yet holding weight in Yanjing, if Huayu Group grows, that fifty percent will be quite significant!”

“I understand that, but what can we do?”

Lin Zifeng was aware of Beiming Yu’s little ploys, yet for now was forced to cooperate favorably, calculating everything carefully…

“In that case… let’s meet her demands.” Zhang Mengjie painfully closed her eyes. Fifty percent of the shares!

Others might not grasp its weight; Zhang Mengjie knew well what fifty percent of those shares represented.

She led Huayu Group, with many people working hard, using every ounce of her strength and effort, striving to build Huayu Group. Before fully capturing the Yanjing market, giving away fifty percent is a hard pill to swallow.

“Fine. If she wants fifty percent, give it to her. Once Huayu Group rises in Yanjing, I’ll make her spit out more than what fifty percent amounts to. It’s just a matter of time.” Lin Zifeng shrugged and smiled.

“Alright… since it’s happened, there’s no point saying more. Young Master Lin, are you planning to go to Yanjing tomorrow?” Zhang Mengjie looked at him.

Yanjing is a mixed scene, Lin Zifeng explored it before, and now Huayu Group is making a major move into Yanjing. Without Zhang Mengjie, there’s a hint of worry in her heart.

“Silly, I’m not heading to my death. Look at you, acting as if I’m charging to die. Come on, give me a smile.”

“Pfft~” Zhang Mengjie broke into a laughter, lightly slapped his shoulder, twisted her way in a suit-skirt that highlighted her enticing curves, smiled, and said, “Young Master Lin, I’ve been with you for months now, and this time to Yanjing, though I can’t go with you personally, my heart will always be with you. So, no matter whether success or failure, remember to come back safe. We still have a nest in Zhonghai, and we can always start over.

Even if a thousand people laugh at us, we stand as your strongest backing. Besides, we crawled our way up from the bottom, didn’t we? If these difficulties topple us, the vows made earlier would be worthless.”

Hearing Zhang Mengjie’s words, Lin Zifeng was slightly stunned, unsure why she sounded so defeatist today.

Then he laughed heartily and said, “Zhang Concubine, it’s just the beginning, and you already doubt my capabilities? Do you think I’ll fail in Yanjing?”

“Little Lin, isn’t sister worried about you? Wow, haven’t even said much before you’re calling yourself emperor, does that mean you plan to have many concubines? My majesty~”

“Um… haha, of course not. You’re enough for me, how dare I!” His expression first froze, then he immediately wore a sycophantic smile.

Seriously, with the Empress Dowager, things are already hectic; a few more and I’d lose my life…
