Capítulo 1593: Chapter 1627: Don’t Open Your Eyes, Let Me Blow on Them for You

“I…” Lin Zifeng couldn’t even begin to explain. Even Zhang Xixi, who was involved, was at a loss.

“Alright.” Helplessly, Lin Zifeng just nodded, then stood up straight and slowly walked out.

He hated himself inside, why didn’t he lock the door? Why didn’t he close it properly before coming in?

And as Zhang Xixi watched Lin Zifeng leave, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, feeling quite speechless.

……

When Zhang Xixi came out, Lin Zifeng was already pacing back and forth in the living room, unsure of how to explain what had just happened. He saw Zhang Xixi walk out blankly.

He immediately put on a smiling face and approached her, “You see, Xixi, just now… I really must explain this to you, or else I’ll feel really uncomfortable about it.” Lin Zifeng awkwardly rubbed his hands together.

What happened in the bathroom was honestly not intentional.

“Brother Lin, you… you don’t have to explain. I understand.” Zhang Xixi nodded slightly, her eyes avoiding his gaze.

What the heck! Understand what? I haven’t even begun to explain the reason, and you already understand? Lin Zifeng was speechless.

“No, no, Xixi, you have to let me explain. I really need to make this clear to you, or I’ll feel like there’s a knot in my heart. It’s important not to tarnish my reputation as an upright person. Yes, exactly. Someone as upright as me cannot be misunderstood.”

“Brother Lin, there’s no need to explain. I really understand.” Zhang Xixi lowered her head, her little hands grabbing the hem of her clothes, not knowing what to do. She felt both happy and a little disappointed inside. Also, a bit worried.

“…”

Pfft~ what do you even understand?

“Alright.” Lin Zifeng nodded.

“Brother Lin, are you hungry? Let me cook for you.” To ease the awkward atmosphere between them, Zhang Xixi quickly turned around and offered to make a meal for Lin Zifeng.

“Um… what…”

Lin Zifeng extended his hand, wanting to say something. In the end, he decided not to.

…

Thus, inside the villa, the behavior of the man and woman was particularly awkward. Lin Zifeng first went to his room to change clothes. Zhang Xixi, like a housewife, also got dressed and started busying herself in the kitchen…

In her mind, she kept recalling the scenes when she first met Lin Zifeng, and the extraordinary things he did for her. The scene in the bathroom just now left her uncertain whether to be happy or troubled. But for now, she was enjoying the cooking process…

Back in the bathroom, his actions had startled her as well, but being clever, how could she not know what really happened?

If she’s not mistaken, Brother Lin should have entered the bathroom first. Then she, as the one who followed, might have accidentally noticed him there, and in his embarrassment, he was preparing to leave just as she saw him. Yes, it must have been like this.

…… Shortly, Lin Zifeng went downstairs and sat at the dining table, waiting for the hearty lunch Zhang Xixi had made.

It was already 10:30 in the morning.

Zhang Xixi personally cooked him a bowl of noodles. Although it was just an ordinary bowl of noodles, for Lin Zifeng, it filled the void in his stomach from last night.

“Brother Lin, the noodles are ready.”

“What about yours? Aren’t you going to eat too?” Seeing she only brought one bowl and didn’t go back to the kitchen for a second, Lin Zifeng found it strange.

“Brother Lin, I’m not hungry yet, you go ahead and eat. It’ll get cold and not taste as good.”

Zhang Xixi gave a sweet smile.

This was a bowl of instant noodles cooked with additional ingredients, looking quite appetizing.

“Come, come, eat together. You made it for me, why don’t you make yourself a bowl too?” Lin Zifeng gave her a light-hearted look and then happily ran back to the kitchen, grabbed another bowl, and scooped half of his noodles into it for Zhang Xixi.

“Here, eat.”

“Thank you, Brother Lin.”

“Thanks for what? You deserve it, I should be thanking you.” Lin Zifeng was speechless. This girl was too stubborn, making him a bowl but not making herself one. It’s not like noodles were scarce.

“Mmm. Not bad, the noodles taste great.” Lin Zifeng gave a thumbs-up while devouring the noodles, convincing himself that the bathroom incident was purely accidental and not worth dwelling on, really just act as if nothing happened.

“Hehe, Brother Lin, if it’s tasty, I can cook you another bowl later, how about it?”

“No need! This bowl is enough for me. If you cook another one, are you trying to choke your Brother Lin?” Lin Zifeng teased her with a smile.

With just this teasing, her face turned red again, and she lowered her head, picking up the noodles one by one.

“Xixi, the way you’re eating, I bet you’ll take until dawn to finish, won’t you?” Seeing her eat noodle by noodle, Lin Zifeng found it quite odd. How long would it take her to finish the bowl?

“???” Zhang Xixi looked at him, puzzled.

“Look, I’ll show you. Eating noodles also has its techniques. For instance, take a big bunch of noodles with your chopsticks like this, and then just slurp them up into your mouth, like this.” Lin Zifeng demonstrated for her.

“Oh.” Zhang Xixi nodded and mimicked Lin Zifeng’s method, twirling the noodles with chopsticks and slurping them up. But possibly due to too much force and not controlling it well, as she sucked the noodles into her mouth, the spicy soup splashed into her eye.

“Hey~”

“What’s wrong?” Lin Zifeng noticed something amiss as she kept rubbing her eyes.

“Did the spicy noodle soup get into your eye?” Lin Zifeng asked with concern.

“Mm-hmm. It’s really spicy,” she nodded silently, her eyes almost tearing up from the rubbing.

“How could you be so careless? Come, let me blow on it for you.”

Setting down his chopsticks, Lin Zifeng leaned forward to blow on her eye gently.

What now? What do I do? Brother Lin is going to blow on it for me? I’m really nervous.

She clenched her small fists, her heart racing, but the discomfort in her eye increased. She couldn’t refuse Lin Zifeng’s kind offer.

So she let him gently hold her eye and softly blew on it several times.

With each blow, her body slightly trembled, her fists clenched tight, her heart beating fast, and her face flushing as if she’d downed several shots of liquor, even her ears felt warm. Her eyes filled with a hopeful gaze…

“Feeling better?” Lin Zifeng asked with concern, blowing very carefully, bit by bit.

The spicy soup from the instant noodles was quite uncomfortable in the eyes. When slurping noodles, it’s essential to close your eyes; otherwise, it can splash into them.

“Mmm, much better, Brother Lin.”

“Here, let me get you some clean water to wash your eyes. Don’t open them in the meantime,” Lin Zifeng reminded her.

(Initially, we planned for a romantic development between Liu Ruyan and Zhang Xixi, but many suggested against it, saying it’s too much like a harem. Actually, the author wants to clarify—so far, the protagonist has only ended up with Nangong Bing, and the others are just lingering attractions, nothing finalized. If they were to end up with anyone, two to three could be possible.)
