Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 1295: Chapter 1329: Leader of the Skull Society

”This... ”

Hawke Martin gave a rueful smile, unable to say anything. Since Nangong Bing already knew the truth, there was no point in hiding anything anymore.

”Since Miss Nangong already knows, I, Hawke Martin, have nothing further to say.”

With that, Hawke Martin turned and motioned with his hand.

A chef from the United States approached with a perfectly cooked steak in hand.

”This might be the last thing I can do for Miss Nangong.”

Hawke Martin spoke sincerely, realizing that pursuing Nangong Bing was futile now. He hated Lin Zifeng, loathed how he was one step ahead, yet he didn’t know that from beginning to end, it was the Grand Empress Dowager who nudged Lin Zifeng forward.

”No need.” Nangong Bing’s expression was cold as she turned and walked towards the car.

Though feeling down, Hawke Martin maintained a strong smile on the surface.

Vroom, vroom, vroom,

The car pulled up in front of Hawke Martin, and Lin Zifeng’s cold gaze met and quickly passed over Hawke Martin’s sullen eyes.

After the car left the villa, Hawke Martin threw the steak he was holding onto the ground and stomped on it furiously with his foot.

...

After dropping Nangong Bing halfway, Lin Zifeng got out of the car and quickly headed towards Huayu Group.

He found Zhang Mengjie and informed her about Hawke Martin, asking the Nantian Gang’s intelligence bureau to keep a closer watch on Hawke Martin’s actions and thoroughly investigate his identity and origins.

He couldn’t believe that Hawke Martin came to the Martial Arts world purely for Nangong Bing and Zhao Xuemo. It simply didn’t make sense.

Given the mystery surrounding his identity, it’s unlikely he came to the Martial Arts world just for women, prompting Lin Zifeng to pay more attention to Hawke Martin.

”By the way, Young Master Lin, about that report you sent me last night, are you planning to expand into Dragon City soon?”

Zhang Mengjie personally prepared a cup of tea for Lin Zifeng. Last night, Lin Zifeng sent her some materials suggesting she prepare for a potential expansion of Huayu Group and Nantian Gang’s influence into Dragon City in the near future.

”Yes, the sooner, the better.” Lin Zifeng took a sip of the tea.

The office was empty, so Zhang Mengjie naturally sat on his lap with ease, her soft posterior pressing against his thigh.

A faint fragrance wafted into Lin Zifeng’s nostrils. Savoring the fine tea and the warmth of a beautiful woman, it was a truly delightful feeling.

”But isn’t it a bit premature for Huayu Group to expand into Dragon City? We just released our first film, though well-received, we’re still lacking in foundation, with no real means to expand. Unless...”

”Unless what?” Lin Zifeng perceived Zhang Mengjie’s meaning; he knew she must have another plan.

”Unless Huayu Group can branch into other channels. Only by branching out can we truly expand. If we only focus on entertainment, we’re unlikely to meet this requirement for now.”

Lin Zifeng fell silent for a moment, realizing this indeed posed a challenge for him.

Setting aside Huayu Group, expanding into other channels was indeed a difficult task, especially since Lin Zifeng was quite clueless about business matters and didn’t know where to start.

Currently, Huayu Group was severely lacking in talent capable of developing the market.

”Right, how’s Liu Ruyan doing lately?” Lin Zifeng suddenly inquired about Liu Ruyan. Ever since she joined Huayu Group, she hadn’t garnered much of his attention.

After all, with increasingly more responsibilities, Lin Zifeng was too busy to manage everything.

”Liu Ruyan lacks business experience and knows even less about the entertainment industry. However, she’s been working hard. Huayu Group has only recently risen, so she still has a lot of time to improve.”

Lin Zifeng was particularly concerned about these two girls. Their dream of entering the entertainment industry was showing results as their first film had positive effects.

Unfortunately, even though the two girls had acting talent, they were still too inexperienced. The first film followed a youthful theme, making it relatively easy for them. However, if Huayu Group sought them for future projects, they might be limited since each age group offers limited roles.

Huayu Group couldn’t always stick to a youthful theme.

”They may soon be sent to South Korea for training. It might take a while. By the time they return, we’ll be prepping to shoot a new blockbuster, and with substantial planning in place, it should impress the audience.”

Zhang Mengjie spoke confidently.

But success in film wasn’t really what Lin Zifeng was after. He cared little about fame and wealth. What he truly desired was to uncover the truth about who had falsely accused his father of treason all those years ago.

To clear his father’s name and live with his beloved in a place free from disturbance—that was enough.

”Going to South Korea?” Lin Zifeng’s acting talent should have been able to rise within the country.

”Yes, within our country, admittedly, many aspects are still less professional than in South Korea,” Zhang Mengjie laughed, ”Sending them to South Korea builds their notoriety there. Since Korea’s near our Martial Arts world, once they’re famous domestically, their fame coupled with popularity in Korea will raise them even higher.”

”Wow, I didn’t expect you to think so far ahead!” Lin Zifeng had to admire her foresight. He’d have been content to merely elevate them to first-line stars domestically but never imagined Zhang Mengjie’s aim was global.

”Hehe, isn’t it also what you aspire towards?” Zhang Mengjie reached out, touching his chiseled face with a playful laugh.

Unashamed, Lin Zifeng lightly pinched her, startling Zhang Mengjie who quickly leaped off his lap.

”Oh, this is the office; why so impatient?”

”Uh, hehe.” Lin Zifeng chuckled and patted his lap.

”I’ll leave the matter with Hawke Martin to you.”

”Why so formal with me? What? Are you planning to thank me by becoming mine?”

Zhang Mengjie leaned closer to Lin Zifeng.

In that moment, her boldness made Lin Zifeng gulp audibly.

Straightening his expression, he said, ”Maybe another day then!”

”...”

Zhang Mengjie’s face turned crimson, speechless.

”What’s wrong?”

Lin Zifeng looked at her puzzled, wondering if he’d misspoken.

”It’s nothing.” Zhang Mengjie shook her head; the mention of ”another day” immediately brought an association to her mind but then she let it go.

...

After Lin Zifeng left, Zhang Yuxuan knocked and entered with a grave expression.

”Sister, I’ve found out about Hawke Martin’s identity. He is the leader of the Southeast Asia Skeleton Sect! Five years ago, his father was killed, and the skeleton sect leadership was taken from him. In recent years, he reemerged, taking advantage of internal turmoil to stir up significant conflict in Southeast Asia and reclaim his father’s position.”

”Are you saying Hawke Martin is the leader of the Skeleton Sect?” Zhang Mengjie regretted Lin Zifeng leaving earlier.

Otherwise, this information would have been very useful to him.
