Chapter 947: Chapter 976 Crafting a Ring for Nangong Bing (Fifth Update)

Walking into this century-old treasure store gave Lin Zifeng an initial impression of brokenness, antiquity, and a rundown feeling.

However, if you observe closely, you’ll discover that the decorations and arrangements inside have a certain charm that feels quite distinct in modern times.

The person attending to Nangong Bing was a middle-aged man, dressed rather plainly.

However, he wore a very outdated pair of glasses.

He somewhat resembled an old scholar from the Republic era.

”Master, do you think this jade can be crafted into a ring?...”

Nangong Bing trusted this old fellow greatly.

”It can be done, but crafting this jade into a ring would be somewhat of a waste.”

The middle-aged man carefully examined it.

He examined the lines and texture through a magnifying glass...

Finally, giving up further inspection, the middle-aged man nodded cautiously and said, ”Young lady, this jade is a top-quality emerald, but I must remind you of one thing.”

”Please do, Master.”

Nangong Bing replied courteously.

”This emerald is the strangest one I’ve seen to date. Though I can’t decipher the patterns inside, I tell you, the golden dragon within might be the most valuable part of this emerald. If you insist on having it crafted into a ring, there’s a chance the golden dragon inside might disperse.”

”Disperse? Why?”

”Because the golden dragon inside moves across the emerald like water. If I’m not mistaken, it might be golden water which doesn’t concern gold, but I assure you, if you buy it, you’re bound to make a fortune.”

”Pfft—”

Lin Zifeng wanted to laugh, thinking if they were so desperate for money, they wouldn’t be here trying to craft it into a ring?

”Master, I came here today hoping you could craft this emerald into a ring. If it’s truly difficult for you, I’ll find another place.”

”No, no! Please! My dad doesn’t mean that. He was just considering your best interest.”

At this moment, the boy behind the middle-aged man came forward with a grin.

”Beautiful lady, my dad’s only considering your best interest. If you trust us, you can leave the emerald here. We can note down the style and quality of the ring and create it exactly as you wish. We guarantee your satisfaction.”

”No! This emerald is too precious. Even if we craft it into a ring, I can’t be sure the golden water inside won’t be lost. I can’t take this job.”

The middle-aged man outright refused because he knew the difficulty involved and didn’t dare take it lightly.

”No, no! Don’t worry, trust my dad’s skill. He’s well-versed in this field. Although this kind of top-quality emerald is rare, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t worked with them before. Rest assured, leave it with us, and within a week, we’ll give you a perfect ring.”

With that, the boy nudged the dark-faced middle-aged man with his foot and smiled widely.

Lin Zifeng touched his nose, finding the situation amusing.

His dad openly admitted he couldn’t complete the task, yet the boy kept drawing business his way.

Whether it was about gaining business, Lin Zifeng wasn’t sure; he only knew that the value of this emerald was not trivial. Who knows if it’ll still be there when they come back to retrieve it?

If Lin Zifeng guessed right, this jade’s market price would be at least tens of millions!

It is top-tier king jade, and with the golden dragon’s water-like movements, its price could be even higher than that.

”Forget it; since you don’t have confidence in it, we’ll just call it off. I’ll look for a place when I get the chance.”

”No, beautiful lady, my dad didn’t say he couldn’t, only that he’s not fully confident. Just offer a price, and I’m sure my dad can help you.”

”This isn’t about the price.” Lin Zifeng stepped forward, held Nangong Bing’s small hand, wrapped an arm around her slender waist, and smiled, ”This is about integrity.”

Having said this, he casually left with the beauty in his arms.

After they left, the boy realized he initially thought the man was just the woman’s bodyguard, but their relationship seemed more than that.

The thing that really annoyed him was the other man questioning his integrity.

”Damn it! Is it just a piece of jade? I handle countless pieces a day...”

...

”I told you, you could definitely hire a famous craftsman to make it for you. Why bother?”

After walking some distance, Lin Zifeng said with a smile.

If they really wanted to craft the jade into a ring, he could ask for help from the Martial Arts Alliance.

”You don’t understand, this kind of emerald is usually very rare.” Nangong Bing seemed disappointed with the outcome, her cold eyebrows gently furrowing as she continued, ”When I was interning in South Africa, I once saw an emerald like this. A chieftain’s wife wore a necklace made of emerald, and even so, that emerald left a huge impression on me. But that’s not the most important; the crucial point is the golden dragon on our emerald. It’s absolutely an exceptional piece compared to ordinary jade. It would be a pity not to make the most beautiful jewelry out of it.”

”Since you like it so much, I’ll craft it for you myself.”

Lin Zifeng shrugged, pulling out a cigarette and took a casual puff.

”You can craft emeralds?” Nangong Bing seemed to have heard the funniest thing in the world.

”Of course! Never doubt your husband’s abilities; whatever you want, I can make it happen.”

After saying that—

With Nangong Bing watching in stunned amazement, Lin Zifeng turned and walked back towards the treasure store.

”Hey! Lin Zifeng, where are you going?”

Nangong Bing stood at the end of the alley stone road, watching Lin Zifeng stride away.

”Finding a way to make your ring.”

Lin Zifeng’s silhouette slowly disappeared into the distance.

Roughly ten minutes later, his familiar face reappeared in front of Nangong Bing.

”I told you, whatever you desire, I can fulfill. Never doubt your husband’s capability.” Lin Zifeng held a book on jade crafting, even one hand-copied.

It seemed to have been recorded personally by a master craftsman.
